Chapter 213 So Many Things to Do Today

Chapter 1 Hao Ren was startled by the strange thing that suddenly appeared in front of him, and he darted back several meters. He was sure that his speed at that moment would allow him to appear on the screen several times during the Olympics. After pulling himself to a safe distance, he had the chance to take a good look at what it was: a corpse.

It was obviously not the corpse of an Earthling or any other typical human. This corpse was only 1.4 to 1.5 meters tall, wearing a thick, sturdy, work-clothes-like outfit. The exposed skin was dark green, but it was unclear whether it was due to being soaked for so long or if it was that way from the start. This peculiar alien creature had a cylindrical head, no nose or ears, but large eyes and mouth, and no hair on its head. It was roughly humanoid, but distinctly different from humans. According to Raven 12345, it should be a native race relatively far from the "Celestial Disturbance." Its eyes were wide open, and it floated quietly in the crimson lake water, carried towards Hao Ren by the water flowing from the opened gate. This should be one of the crew members of the crashed spacecraft.

Whether it was due to the special power of the blood lake or the unusual physical structure of this alien, the crew member had not decayed after being submerged in the water for two months. Hao Ren, enduring his unease, cautiously approached. He found a line of text on the back of the crew member's work clothes. After accessing the translation database, the text was successfully decoded: "Tianjiao Star No. 4 Ship, Warehouse Employee."

"This is indeed a warehouse, but this ship shouldn't be a cargo ship," the data terminal floated up and down in the water. "There's no space expansion device, and the ship itself is very small. It's probably just an ordinary small passenger ship or functional civilian vessel."

"Can you determine the origin?" Hao Ren frowned. "It's definitely not from the Dream Plane."

"More data is needed. Not all civilian ships are registered," the data terminal floated, its tone very serious. "This matter must be taken seriously. This ship should be from the Surface World."

"The Surface World?!" Hao Ren was shocked. "Such a big thing... falling from the Surface World into the Dream Plane?"

"Based on the ship's framework, there's a 90% chance."

Hao Ren suddenly remembered something, "Didn't you say that entering the Dream Plane from the Surface World is very difficult? Because of one-way transmission or something, we needed to use a hibernation pod for guidance when we came in, otherwise it would disrupt the balance..."

The data terminal flashed with intermittent lights, indicating the urgency of the situation. "That's the serious part. In theory, things from the Surface World shouldn't easily enter the Dream Plane. It's already a once-in-a-century occurrence for a weak human's mental entity to be able to touch the Dream Plane, but now a spaceship has crashed in—this will cause a huge impact on the balance, or worse..."

As the data terminal spoke, it turned and floated deeper into the ship's interior. Hao Ren followed behind, asking, "Worse what?"

"Or the balance has already begun to fail."

The group passed through the chaotic cargo hold and advanced towards the ship's central control room along a semi-collapsed corridor. Doudou, like an restless little fish, swam around Hao Ren. The little guy often squeezed into those narrow holes and cracks, then emerged from another crack not far away. At first, the others nervously chased after her to prevent her from getting into trouble, but they soon realized that most of the ship's structure had stabilized, and the little mermaid's aquatic talent made her more agile than most people there, so they stopped paying attention. Nangong Wuyue just routinely shouted at Doudou to not run around.

After Doudou once again squeezed into a wide triangular crack next to the corridor, Hao Ren suddenly heard the little guy cry out in surprise, "Haya!"

He quickly rushed over to check the situation and saw the little one swimming out, holding a strange oval "plastic" piece: "Ha!"

That "plastic" piece turned out to be a personal device. It seemed to have excellent operational capabilities in extreme environments. When Hao Ren took it, he found that it was still emitting a faint glow. A line of text appeared on its oval screen: "Tianjiao Star No. 4 Ship, Technician's Message: The ship was caught in a strange spatial turbulence. All components have stopped thrusting. Part of the hull is severely damaged, gas is leaking. Emergency isolation is being carried out but may be ineffective. Abandon ship failed. Preparing to meet death. The characteristics of the spatial turbulence are recorded below. If rescuers arrive, hopefully, it will be useful."

"Where did you find it?" Hao Ren looked at Doudou. The little guy immediately grabbed his sleeve and swam towards the triangular opening. This triangular hole was relatively wide and could accommodate adults—except for those like Izhaks.

Hao Ren and Vivian swam in, leaving the others to wait outside. After entering, the two realized that it was a small cabin that was originally not connected to the outside corridor, but the corridor wall had broken, exposing it. The cabin was full of tilted equipment and detached pipes, and in the middle of the room, a… stranger creature than the previous little green man was lying on the floor.

It looked like a huge arthropod, somewhat like a stocky mantis. Its lower body had four strong, jointed legs, while its upright upper body was relatively slender. The upper body also had two pairs of completely different forelimbs: one pair of forelimbs was large and strong, seemingly used for combat or carrying heavy objects, while the other pair of forelimbs was slender and complex, appearing to be used for fine work. The creature also had a triangular head, with two rows of purple spots visible next to its huge compound eyes.

It looked like an oversized insect, as if it had walked out of a horror movie, but the equipment it carried and the "clothes" with work cards and job titles around its upper body proved that it wasn't an alien invading the spaceship, but rather a crew member of the ship itself.

Vivian was quite surprised: "The world is full of wonders—its blood must not be eaten."

"We're fortunate that the otherworlders crossed over to Earth back then. If they had landed on an alien planet, there would be no need for demon hunters. At least the vampires would starve to death."

Vivian tossed her head: "And a bunch of Hollywood people would starve to death too."

"This is a Tobelo insectoid," the data terminal went over to take a look. "A highly intelligent race closely related to the Empire, also skilled in psionic technology. They are distributed in many worlds. This insectoid should have been hired as a scientific consultant on the ship. It can now be confirmed that this ship came from the Surface World."

The oval device that Doudou found earlier should be the Tobelo insectoid's "data terminal," which contained important records of the ship's accident. Hao Ren carefully put it into his personal space, preparing to show it to Raven 12345 later.

Just then, Izhaks' voice suddenly came from outside, "Landlord, you two come out quickly! There's movement outside!"

Hao Ren quickly grabbed Vivian's hand and crawled back into the corridor. He saw Izhaks and Lily facing the depths of the corridor with serious expressions, ready for battle. Nangong Wuyue had also transformed into a sea serpent form, wrapping herself in a ball with her long tail to increase her safety. In the depths of the corridor, a metallic scraping sound was rapidly approaching.

Vivian immediately prepared for battle: "What is it?!"

Izhaks shook his head: "I don't know. Lily noticed it first. That thing has no life signs. I didn't notice it at first."

Lily crouched in front, her body close to the floor, her paws restlessly scratching the metal floor. She pushed back hard with her legs, raising her head and emitting a threatening growl towards the end of the corridor. Just as she was about to lose her patience and charge out, a huge mechanical tentacle suddenly emerged from the corner at the end of the corridor!

A huge, urchin-like alloy monster appeared before everyone's eyes. Its entire body was covered in creepy mechanical tentacles, each ending in an ominous red light. This mechanical body seemed to think that Hao Ren and the others were intruders on the ship, or it was completely confused. Anyway, as soon as it appeared, it turned three tentacles towards them, the red light at the end of the tentacles intensifying.

Vivian was quick-witted. She had been accumulating power for a long time, and her earlier attack was exceptionally powerful: "Lightning Rush..."

A dozen minutes later, the group returned to the shore in a disheveled state. Lily had really gotten an ion perm this time. Even the fur on her tail was curly. She looked like a duster that had come to life, fluffy and puffy, and she was jumping up and down, starting a war with Vivian: "You idiot! Moron! Water conducts electricity! The corridor conducts electricity! Everything conducts electricity! I conduct electricity too! Did your P.E. teacher sell spicy soup before teaching physics?"

Hao Ren sat next to Doudou, holding her in his arms, opening his mouth and spitting out a puff of black smoke, feeling like there were really too many things happening today.

Doudou imitated him, opening her mouth and spitting out a puff of black smoke. The little guy was really healthy.

Izhaks turned his head and looked at Nangong Wuyue not far away: "Sea siren girl, are you alright yet?"

Nangong Wuyue was still in her sea serpent form, her tail balled up like a ball of yarn. She was trying hard to untangle herself: "Numb, can't untangle it..."

Hao Ren continued to spit out black smoke with his daughter, so many things happening today...

(Telling everyone a happy news, the computer crashed, and after rescuing it, I found that half of the drafts exploded instantly! I won't say anything else, I'll find a place to cry for a while, and I'll try to keep updating in the next few days... but I can only rely on memory to fill in those garbled drafts in the middle, and if it's really not smooth, I'll update at least one chapter every day.)
