Chapter 15 The Sixteenth Moon

"Have you ever heard the saying that 'the moon is rounder on the sixteenth day of the lunar month'?" Raven 12345's voice was low and slow, giving the immediate impression of seriousness, but Hao Ren instantly knew better: Seriously my ass! She was just feeling guilty!

"Do you know what I'm thinking?" Hao Ren ground his back teeth, his voice laced with menace.

Raven 12345 wasn't afraid in the slightest, her voice utterly carefree: "Of course, you're definitely thinking of taking me down with you – let me tell you, there are plenty of people in this universe who want to take me down with them, you'll have to wait until the end of the world to get in line..."

Hao Ren casually tossed the data terminal aside, having completely given up on that crazy, half-wit, shameless "goddess." Lily was still squatting on the blanket, munching on spicy sticks and washing them down with mineral water. Vivian became even more annoyed seeing the worthless werewolf. Vivian called Lily a few times, but the latter didn't seem to hear her. Her head slowly drooped down at a speed visible to the naked eye, as if she were falling asleep while eating. A few seconds later, her shoulders began to tremble, and a strange sound came from her throat. Recalling the last time, Hao Ren immediately sensed something was wrong and patted Lily's shoulder. "Lily, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Lily shuddered violently, then looked up in a daze. Her golden eyes were frighteningly bright in the moonlight, with circles of illusionary light rippling within them. Her face was flushed an unnatural red, her eyes were unfocused, and she had a drunken, excited feeling. "Landlord... ha... I feel a little... numb all over, my hands and feet are a little... itchy..."

"She's transforming!" Hao Ren immediately remembered the characteristics Raven 12345 had told him about Lily's evolution, and he subconsciously jumped back more than a meter. His exclamation caused Vivian and Izhaks to stop what they were doing. The great demon and the vampire both rushed over. Vivian carefully observed Lily's eyes, waving for the others to retreat. "It's definitely starting. Everyone, step back a little. She's probably more dangerous after transforming than we thought... This aura is different from what I've seen on other werewolves."

Everyone except Lily, who was already almost out of control, was busy. Vivian was packing things, and Izhaks ran to an open space a hundred meters away, summoning some green runes and drawing something on the ground. Hao Ren remembered Raven 12345's instructions and set the data terminal to detection mode, circling Lily a few times to collect information about the surrounding energy field – one of the reports to be given to Raven 12345.

Lily's body was only changing slightly at this point, and her mind was still clear (at least for now, Raven's "treatment" hadn't failed yet). She watched the others busying about and couldn't sit still. "Landlord, Landlord, what should I do?"

"Just squat here obediently, and remember to tell me immediately if you feel unwell," Hao Ren waved for Lily not to move, and threw the data terminal on the ground nearby. "You be the detector."

The data terminal immediately protested. "Hey, wait a minute! What if she goes berserk after transforming and eats me?"

Hao Ren thought about it and realized that werewolves were said to have a strong appetite after transforming, eating anything around them. So he quickly ran to Vivian and asked for a few stomach pills to give to Lily. "Here, take these, take two if you have indigestion, they'll definitely work."

The blanket under Lily's feet had already been cut like a mosquito coil. Hao Ren wasn't planning to test his rigid shield against Lily's bladed whirlwinds just yet...

The werewolf girl at the center of it all was not afraid of the strange phenomena she had caused. She was just curiously studying the whirlwinds around her, and when she realized she could control them slightly, she became happy. "Landlord, Landlord! I can use magic too! That bat can't say I'm brainless!"

Judging by that sentence, her brainpower was still limited...

Hao Ren gave Lily an encouraging gesture, then ran towards the safe zone a hundred meters away. The so-called "safe zone" was a circular open space covered with green demonic runes. Izhaks had created a layer of protection here with runes summoned from thin air. The runes floated a few centimeters above the ground, constantly moving as if they were alive. Although they looked a little scary, their protection should be reliable.

"The aura is strong. The werewolves of your world are truly interesting creatures, actually growing explosively like this," Izhaks stood in the center of the runes, arms crossed, observing Lily's condition with interest. "Hmm... there's a change..."

The demonic circle Hao Ren and the others were in suddenly erupted with intense light, all the runes instantly rising into the air, and a green shield blocked the oncoming shockwaves in time, but the situation outside the shield was completely obscured.

One hundred meters seemed a little too close. Izhaks had misjudged Lily's power, and the three of them were basically within the blast radius of the shockwaves...

In the center of the pit stood a towering beast.

Hao Ren's first glance fell on the other party's ears and tail. Those spirited triangular ears and the snow-white tail wagging back and forth were exactly the same as Lily's in human form, just greatly magnified.

Lily was still immersed in the excitement of the complete beast transformation. She looked up at the full moon and let out another long, powerful howl: "Awoo... woof!"
