Chapter 100 Kidnapping?

Chapter 127 The Kidnapping

Hao Ren and Vivian waited until twelve noon, but still didn't see Lily's shadow.

That girl was a very punctual person—at least when it came to meal times. As a husky, she wouldn't give anyone a chance to steal her food, so she usually came home an hour before mealtime. Especially today, when she had said she would definitely be back before noon, this lateness made Hao Ren feel puzzled.

"It's the first time she's been late for a meal," Vivian said, placing the dishes on the table and looking strangely at the entrance. "Did something hold her up?"

"I'll give her a call," Hao Ren said, taking out his phone and dialing Lily's number. After a while, he shook his head. "No one's answering."

Vivian and Hao Ren stared at each other. The former finally spoke first, "Does she have any other friends or places to go around here?"

"No, she came here as a loner, just like you. She's unfamiliar with everything here," Hao Ren said, slowly standing up, the more he thought about it, the more something felt wrong. "Besides, she never keeps things to herself. If something really happened, she should have called back to let us know. Could something have happened to her?"

"What could happen to her? That fighting power isn't just for show," Vivian said casually. "Are you too nervous?"

"That's true. After all, she's a werewolf... at least a fierce dog."

Although Hao Ren said so, the inexplicable sense of unease in his heart did not diminish at all. He didn't know where this unease came from. Logically speaking, Lily had only been out for a few hours, and it was just that he couldn't get through on the phone for the moment. This was not enough to make people nervous, but Hao Ren just felt that something was wrong. It seemed that his sixth sense, which had been very accurate for a long time, was stirring again—this made him a little irritable, but there was nothing he could do.

"I'll send a few bats out to search the nearby streets," Vivian said, standing up after seeing Hao Ren's restless appearance. She casually conjured a few black bats. "I roughly know the places she usually goes. If we can't find her, we'll go out and look for her."

Just as Hao Ren was about to nod, the phone on the sofa armrest suddenly rang like a death knell. He quickly picked up the phone, and the caller ID on the phone screen was Lily's avatar: a white husky. Hao Ren had changed it last night for some unknown reason, and the picture came from a video screenshot of Lily's transformation a few days ago.

"Hello, Lily?" Hao Ren waved to Vivian, indicating that it was the husky calling. "Where are you? Why didn't you come back at noon?"

"Landlord, landlord, I've met two lunatics," Lily said in a low voice, mysteriously. "Two foreigners, saying they are my 'parents' or something, and they want to take me back to the family. Now I'm in some unknown place."

Hao Ren's heart suddenly rose to his throat. His face changed, and Vivian next to him immediately leaned over: "What's going on?"

Hao Ren waved to Vivian, signaling her not to speak, and then asked urgently, "Where are you now? What do those two foreigners look like? What did they say to you? Are you safe now?"

"I don't know what place it is," Lily's voice still sounded very energetic, and it seemed that she hadn't been hurt, but she sounded quite confused. "They're talking nonsense and don't explain anything clearly. By the way, one of them is very tall, about six foot three or so, as strong as a bear. The other is a man with a hooked nose and a pale face, looking sick, about the same build as you, landlord..."

Lily rambled about the situation there, and Hao Ren couldn't make heads or tails of it. He could only judge that the idiot had really been abducted. He was immediately a little exasperated: "Why are you so stupid! How could you be abducted by strangers so easily?"

"I didn't want to go with them!" Lily's voice sounded very angry. "I was taken away by a puff of black smoke! That big guy knows magic, and a puff of black smoke brought me here. After the black smoke dispersed, I was in an unfamiliar room. If it were normal, I would have knocked these guys down, but these two seem to be quite powerful. I don't know if I can beat them, so I didn't dare to act rashly... Landlord, you come and save me!"

"Vivian and I will go out right away. Tell me roughly what you can see, so I can know where you are. By the way, where are those two foreigners who kidnapped you? Will they find out if you make this call?"

"They went out to buy me food, but one of them didn't go far. I can smell his scent nearby, but he can't hear the movement here because of the distance and the walls blocking us," Lily's voice was even lower, to the point where Hao Ren could barely hear it. It seemed that even a husky had its own brain. "I'm in a rather dilapidated room. A lot of the wall plaster has fallen off. It seems to be an abandoned house. That big guy sealed the door and windows with black mist. I can't get out and I can't see the outside. But when they opened the door just now, I glanced outside. It looked like a warehouse."

Hao Ren was stunned: with so little information, how could he judge the situation? There were countless abandoned warehouses in the entire T City, and there were probably at least dozens that fit the conditions...

"Look around the room and see if you can find any landmarks," Hao Ren realized that he couldn't find any valuable information from the clues Lily provided, so he quickly thought of another way. "If it's the warehouse duty room, there might be old signs or waste paper left. Look for them."

"Signs..." There was a rustling sound from Lily's side. "Although this place is quite broken, those two lunatics seem to have cleaned it up specially. It's clean and there's nothing... Ah, I found it! There's a piece of scrap iron here. I can't see the words on it clearly, but I can make out 'Hao Yun' something something... Is that useful?"

"Hao Yun?" Hao Ren immediately racked his brains, trying to recall if there were any abandoned warehouses in this city that had anything to do with the words "Hao Yun." At that moment, he suddenly heard a faint sound of iron doors colliding from Lily's side, as if the warehouse door was being pushed open. Then Lily's voice rang out, "They're back. I'll hang up now."

"Be careful!" Hao Ren only had time to say one last sentence. "Try not to fight them. They know magic!"

Lily hummed in agreement, and then the phone hung up.

"What's the situation?" Vivian leaned over and asked. Although she usually had constant conflicts with Lily, she was also quite worried now.

"That idiot has been kidnapped... it sounds like a kidnapping to me," Hao Ren had calmed down, but the sense of unease in his heart couldn't be suppressed at all. "She's so powerful, but she was actually kidnapped... This world is really dangerous."

Then Hao Ren roughly told Vivian about Lily's situation. After listening, the latter showed a relieved expression: "Don't worry, that big dog will be fine."

Hao Ren gave Vivian a strange look. The latter reminded him, "Do you remember that Kasa Eben you met?"

Hao Ren suddenly felt goosebumps all over his back: "That mighty gay guy?!"

"Why do you only remember the word 'gay'?" Vivian glared at Hao Ren. "If I'm not mistaken, Lily was taken away by that Kasa Eben. She was discovered by her own 'kin.'"

"Kin?" Hao Ren suddenly reacted. "You're saying that gay guy is a werewolf?!"

"The Eben family, if I'm not mistaken, it should be them," Vivian sighed, with a look of annoyance on her face. "Tch, I really shouldn't have been so careless. It seems that I've been living too comfortably for the past hundred years, and I've lost my vigilance. I should have thought of them when I heard the name Eben."

Hao Ren blinked. "Since they're werewolves, why did they kidnap Lily?"

"What else? To take their kin back," Vivian shrugged. "The Eben family is one of the few remaining alien families who still fantasize about restoring the 'mythological era,' and they are also the only werewolf clan that emphasizes 'family values.' They have been constantly searching for lost compatriots all over the world. At first, they only gathered their own family or collateral members who were related to them by blood, but later, in the last two hundred years, they expanded the scope of their recruitment to the entire werewolf population. As long as they are werewolves, they will be recruited by them. Lily like this... you tell me, unless you see it with your own eyes, who would think she's a husky?"

Hao Ren: "..."

Obviously, the two unlucky werewolves who "kidnapped" Lily had been tricked.
