Chapter 650 A New Beginning

Chapter 1250 Aeon's New Life

The Land Turtle was sailing through hyperspace, surrounded by the endless darkness of an enclosed space. On the bridge, Nangong Wudi and Aersa looked around in amazement at the things around them, each of which made them feel new—they had seen the powerful automatic equipment on the Planet Ark, and it was clear that the devices on the Land Turtle were even more incredible... especially those realistic holographic projections and that nagging data terminal. It was just too unbelievable.

"You came in this?" Aersa looked at her daughter. "How far can this thing go?"

"It's almost impossible to measure with mathematical units," Nangong Wuyue snuggled up to her mother, her long snake tail coiled around Aersa. She had a happy smile on her face. "We've been to other universes in this ship, and even experienced alien battlefields. You and Dad would be shocked if I told you."

Aersa gently stroked Wuyue's hair, her smile gentle and content: "You've really grown up..."

Nangong Wudi smiled as he watched this scene, and then suddenly heard a crash from the direction of the table not far away. He looked over and saw a basin on the table, and a super-tiny mermaid was perched on the edge of the basin, curiously looking at the strangers on the bridge: it was Doudou waking up.

Nangong Wudi was immediately shocked: "What is this?!"

Doudou was startled and quickly retracted her head, then carefully poked her head out to look around. After confirming that there was no problem, the little one jumped out of the basin with a plop and bounced towards Hao Ren: "Daddy! You're back?"

Now not only Nangong Wudi, but even Aersa was stunned. She frowned, grabbed Wuyue's arm and said, "You're married? Why didn't you say so?!"

Then she pointed to Doudou in surprise: "And why is this child so hungry? Doesn't she get fed normally?"

Hao Ren had an excited feeling when he saw Doudou jumping out. He immediately thought about what the Nangong parents would think—having experienced so many disastrous events, he had now trained his ability to make all kinds of unreliable associations into a passive skill. But when he actually heard Aersa's exclamation, he almost smashed his head on the table: "Don't get the wrong idea—this is not the same thing as a Siren! This is a mermaid, from another world."

Doudou didn't care about so much. She bounced to Hao Ren's side, jumped onto his arm and hung herself on it, then comfortably made a gurgling sound: she had just woken up for less than a minute, and then she fell asleep again.

Nangong Wudi had just stood up to walk towards Hao Ren, but after hearing the other party's explanation, he stopped awkwardly and swallowed the word "son-in-law" back into his mouth. Aersa stared at Doudou and then at Hao Ren, and finally her eyes fell on her daughter: "This really isn't..."

Nangong Wuyue was almost crying, her tail shaking like a rattlesnake: "Mom! Can you stop being so imaginative? Are Sirens this small?"

"Water has no fixed shape, anything is possible. When Mom gave birth to you, you were a ball. It took you two years to figure out how to turn yourself into a human..."

Nangong Wuyue turned her face away awkwardly: "There's no way, who asked me to be born on land? There weren't any other Siren children around, so it's normal to develop later."

Suddenly, everyone on the bridge looked at the mother and daughter in horror. The magical life form of the Siren amazed everyone, and Hao Ren couldn't imagine what a chaotic place a Siren kindergarten would be. Vivian reached out and poked Doudou's sleepy little face while muttering, "Speaking of which, why has this child been sleeping so much lately? Five meals a day, ten hours of sleep... all she does is eat and sleep."

Lili put a small piece of wood next to Doudou's mouth, watching the little one gnaw on the wood in her sleep: "And she's been growing so fast lately."

"I asked Raven 12345 before, and she said it was normal," Hao Ren reached out to support Doudou's body to prevent the little one from sliding off his arm. The latter patted her tail gently in her sleep as a response. "It is said that this kind of mermaid has several special growth stages, and each time they will eat and sleep a lot. It's okay, she's very healthy anyway."

Lili oh-ed and finally couldn't help but think of the Planet Ark they had just left: "Landlord, what do you think will happen to that Ark in the end?"

Before the Land Turtle entered hyperspace, the last picture everyone saw of the Planet Ark was it dragging its long light trail into the depths of the universe. The Ark's wandering had not yet reached its end. Although the Sanctuary had been closed, the Ark's other systems were still operating, and its long journey of thousands of years had just begun. Lili was very worried about the Ark's future fate—especially after learning about the Ark's mainframe, she was even more concerned.

"After I took away the database and life samples, the Ark's mainframe will adjust the mission plan, and it will continue to follow the established route," Hao Ren said about his exchange with the supercomputer in the control center. "Its creator chose a new home ten thousand years ago, and now the Ark has decided to continue to carry out this mission. If everything goes well, it will reach its destination in a thousand years."

"And then what?" Lili looked up at Hao Ren's eyes. "There's no one left on the Ark, right?"

"And then?" Hao Ren picked up the glass jar containing the moss sample and shook it gently. "There's really no one left on the Ark, but there's still this. The sunlight will melt the ice and snow again, and then there will be a new beginning."

The Ark's mainframe let Hao Ren take away these life samples not because it gave up its work, but because it wanted to increase the chances of survival of these lives and spread them as far as possible. This was the experience that the Ark's mainframe had summed up after the destruction of the mother star civilization: don't put all life in one cradle.

After Hao Ren took away the life samples, the Ark would continue its journey, allowing the creator's world to reawaken in another star system—even if the creator was no longer there, it decided to revive that planet again.

This was the "solution" that the Ark's mainframe found for its mission after a conversation with Hao Ren.

No matter how many difficulties and obstacles the mission encountered, no matter how twisted and arduous the process was, the Ark had a mission, and for this mission, the machines would never give up.

Vivian looked at the small jar of moss: "Where are you going to put these samples?"

"Life should flourish to have meaning. Putting them in a specimen library, even if they survive for ten thousand years, they are just specimens," Hao Ren stood up and came to the front of the bridge. The Land Turtle was gradually disengaging from hyperspace, and the images from the external monitors were gradually becoming brighter. "I've done a simulation test, and these mosses will survive very well in one place, and this place..."

The Land Turtle jumped out of warped space, and a crystal clear, blue sea jumped into everyone's eyes.

"Just needs more species."

The Sea of Aio shone in the sun, sparkling.

The Land Turtle slowly lowered its altitude and steadily passed through the newly formed atmospheric clouds above Aeon, hovering over a calm sea surface. This once violent and dangerous world was now unbelievably calm, the waves gently surging under the ship, as gentle as an infant's breath.

Aersa and Nangong Wuyue created platforms on the water for people to stand on, and everyone descended from the ship to the sea. Doudou, after napping, was briefly energetic again, and was now swimming happily in the waves, jumping out of the water from time to time and greeting everyone with a giggle, like a happy little fish. Gungnir curiously dipped his tail into the water, seemingly trying to try fishing.

Aersa looked at the sea in disbelief. She had heard about Aeon from Wuyue: "This... is where the Siren originated?"

"Yes, we came here with the Siren Queen last time," Wuyue smiled. "After we go back, you have to report to Her Majesty the Queen first—many people in Nathaton are worried about your whereabouts."

"Nathaton..." Aersa sighed. "I haven't heard any news from it for a whole century."

Hao Ren opened the container and scattered the moss debris into the sea, and at the same time sprinkled a large amount of crystalline green powder. These powders were synthesized in the laboratory and would help the moss debris to successfully complete its transformation.

"They are a very wonderful thing. Although they are mosses, they are completely different from those on Earth," the data terminal landed on Hao Ren's shoulder and said, "They will soon adapt to marine life, and then may become something similar to seaweed... The wonder of life lies in the incredible."

"Eva, I've brought you some new friends," Hao Ren bent down and put his hand into the sea. "Take good care of them."

The sea did not echo, but a soft burst of broken waves surged, as if in response.
