Chapter 770 The First Step of Reshaping
On the sixth day, Hao Ren arrived at the central hall of the space station early in the morning. In the hall, he saw Mulu chatting with Zhumu. The latter had now obtained further permission for free movement. Except for a few confidential areas within the space station, he could move around in most places. Recently, he had been coming here to chat with Zhumu whenever he had time.
To Hao Ren's surprise, Vivian and Lily were also here. They stood beside the crystal spire, with a set of neatly arranged large containers resembling distillers in front of them. These containers seemed to have been moved from a laboratory, and several autonomous machines were flying around, helping to operate them. Vivian occasionally turned her head to communicate with the crystal spire, and then concentrated on observing the reactions in the containers, looking like she was immersed in scientific research.
"Yo!" Hao Ren greeted them. Doudou also raised her head from his shoulder, waving her little arms and shouting, "Yo! Yo!"
Hao Ren held Doudou to prevent the little one from falling, and looked at Vivian, "What are you doing so early in the morning?"
"Testing the activity of these origin bloods," Vivian pointed to the experimental equipment in front of her, "These were brought out from Holletta. After catalytic replication, they have 'bred' so many. We want to see what the difference is between these things and the origin blood used to create the ecosystem, and see if they can be used directly."
Hao Ren peered over and saw bright red, viscous liquid surging inside the transparent compartments of the "distillers." The activity of these liquids was obviously much stronger than usual in the laboratory, apparently due to Zhumu's mental disturbance. There were six distillers in total, and the frequency of origin blood activity in each container was different. It seemed that Zhumu was testing different control methods.
Vivian was an expert in blood power—although origin blood was not ordinary blood, she could still help in this area. But Hao Ren knew nothing about these professional fields. He turned to look at Lily, who theoretically should also know nothing about it: "Then what are you doing here? Helping?"
Lily pointed to Vivian, "Waiting for food."
Hao Ren: "..." He knew it would be like this!
The space station had facilities for synthesizing food, but with a chef of Vivian's caliber here, who would be willing to eat in the cafeteria? At least in Lily's worldview, the most important thing in the universe was definitely eating. Vivian sighed helplessly, handed over the work of observing the reaction containers to the autonomous machines, and walked towards the door: "You guys wait here, I'll go cook!"
Lily was so happy that her tail wagged into afterimages on the spot: "Awooo!"
"This one's last bit of dignity has finally been defeated by appetite," Hao Ren sighed, covering his forehead. He looked up at the crystal spire, "Good morning—how's the progress on your side? Looks like you've already started interfering with the real world?"
Zhumu hummed and replied cheerfully, "These origin bloods can be used! Their properties are the same as the origin blood in the seeds. With a little catalysis, I can create all kinds of creatures in them! You're amazing, you can actually get origin blood, and it's the kind with a lot of vitality."
Hao Ren waved his hand, "There are still many people in this world who remember the Goddess of Creation. They have been carefully preserving these things. We should thank them."
"But we've still run into some problems," the giant Mulu's rumbling voice came from above, "Zhumu's current state limits its power. The area it can control is very limited, and the accuracy is also a problem."
Hao Ren glanced at the crystal spire. The holographic projection released from the surface of the latter showed the state of the First Born "Zhumu." Today's state was:
o(n_n)o
—Although he didn't know why this thing suddenly understood how to use emoticons, this display method was really straightforward. At least it was much easier to understand than Zhumu's usual amorphous abstract light and shadow.
"Is it because it's not compatible with the crystal core research station's system?" Hao Ren stared at that damn o(n_n)o for a long time, and only turned his head when he could no longer look directly at it, "Or does it need some new drivers?"
"It lacks the organs needed to directly contact and command the origin blood," Mulu sat cross-legged next to Hao Ren, making a big noise as if the sky had fallen, "Zhumu needs to use a brain core or similar nerve tissue to release signals to control the origin blood, and it also needs tentacles to generate a broadcast effect similar to an antenna, but now all of its physical organs have been burned. With this crystal facility, it can only release very limited mental signals, and the command radius for the origin blood..."
Mulu stretched out his hand and gestured around, "Just from here to the position of that fish."
Hao Ren turned his head and saw that Doudou had already jumped to a place more than ten meters away. He quickly ran over to pick up the little one, and finally understood why Vivian had moved those origin blood containers from the laboratory to this hall—this place has wifi...
The crystal spire stood quietly in the center of the hall, its surface as radiant as ever. It was not itself a device for releasing signals, it was just the interaction terminal of the crystal core research station's main machine. However, this kind of crystal itself had a very high energy affinity, so the First Born could use it to spread its soul power. But the key to the problem was not whether this huge crystal could release signals, but that Zhumu needed a body.
A body that was no different from its original body, and that could be well-compatible with the soul of a "First Born" creature.
Lily pinched her chin and helped to think, "This request might be a little difficult to fulfill. You have plenty of machines and equipment in your landlord's pocket, but it's not easy to find a tentacle monster. They usually live in erotic books..."
Hao Ren handed Lily a bag of spicy sticks, "Don't mess around, go eat on the side."
Then he looked at Mulu, "If we're talking about bodies... actually, there are some in this space station. You know what I'm referring to."
"The two... guardians brought from Holletta?" Mulu pondered for a moment, and still used "guardians" to refer to the two samples in Container One and Container Two. He knew of the existence of those two First Born, but he shook his head, "Very inappropriate, this is very dangerous."
"Can't we erase their souls and put Zhumu in?"
"It's easy for 'contamination' to occur," Mulu said in a deep voice, "Their fanatical obsession has penetrated into every cell in their body, engraved in all the nerve ganglia and memory organs. You may not be able to completely erase these obsessions, and as long as even a trace remains, Zhumu's will may be contaminated. After all, its soul strength has almost weakened to its limit now. And this contamination will be subtle and undetectable. It's too dangerous, you'd better give up this idea."
The crystal spire in the distance emitted a smooth and slight hum, Zhumu quietly listening to Hao Ren and Mulu discussing these matters. It also knew that there were two other First Born in this space station besides itself, but Mulu had told it that those two First Born were trapped in complete madness, and could not even listen to the orders left by the Mother, so it was best not to contact them.
Out of trust for its "gardener," Zhumu had long since abandoned the idea of contacting its two "brothers."
Hao Ren crossed his arms, his mind turning over ideas one by one. He suddenly thought of another thing that he had almost forgotten in the laboratory: "If those two don't work... I have a backup plan here, can we solve the problem of the brain core first?"
"Solving the brain core problem is almost solving everything, that's the most critical organ," Mulu looked at Hao Ren in surprise, "Do you have a guardian brain core that hasn't fallen into madness?"
"I really do!" Hao Ren clapped his hands and asked the research station's main machine to send over those two experimental containers as soon as possible, "I guarantee it hasn't gone crazy—it died two hundred thousand years ago!"
A moment later, a slight hum came from under the ground near the crystal spire, and then the ground opened, and two cylindrical containers rose from inside, with two red, spherical organs immersed in the containers.
Hao Ren looked at the surprised expression on Mulu's face with satisfaction, and patted the cylindrical container: "Come and see how the color is, can it be used?"
Mulu muttered in astonishment: "Color..."
Lily had a spicy stick in her mouth, she glanced at Hao Ren and said to herself: "The bat isn't watching, and the landlord's mouth is starting to ask for a beating again."
