Temujin saw Han Gaozu Liu Bang, riding a black dragon, charge into the Necromancer Fortress first.
A flash of temper immediately surged within him. What was the meaning of this? Was this Old Liu trying to slap my face? The Marshal personally assigned me as the main attacker, so what was he, a support role, showing off for?
He looked up at the battlefield and let out a clear, long wolf howl. Then, riding his steed, a... no, riding the Overlord Wolf of the Grasslands, he charged towards the Necromancer Fortress.
Temujin’s subordinates, the Four Heroes, Four Mastiffs, Four Steeds, Four Siblings, and Four Adopted Sons—these twenty kings.
Upon hearing their leader’s call, they immediately followed Temujin, charging towards the breach in the fortress.
Temujin looked back at the host of kings following him and, with pride, let out another cry to the heavens.
“Do you see? This is the army of Genghis Khan Temujin! These are brothers who have followed me for a thousand years! These are brothers who fear no power, covet no gold, and seek no fame! Who among you can do this?”
Genghis Khan indeed had the capital for pride. The twenty kings under his command had swept across the continents of Europe and Asia with him, remaining loyal even after a thousand years.
By the time Temujin and these twenty kings stormed the Necromancer Fortress, Liu Bang had already cleared a section of the area with his men.
The host of grassland kings stared in shock at Han Gaozu, standing atop the black dragon.
Temujin rubbed his eyes and said, "Old Liu, where did all these people of yours come from?"
Beside Liu Bang stood nine Liu family kings, clad in dragon-patterned armor, standing atop nine dragon sons.
They were Emperor Hui of Han Liu Ying, Emperor Wen of Han Liu Heng, Emperor Jing of Han Liu Qi, Emperor Wu of Han Liu Che, Emperor Zhao of Han Liu Fuling, Emperor Xuan of Han Liu Xun, Emperor Guangwu of Han Liu Xiu, Emperor Ming of Han Liu Zhuang, and Emperor He of Han Liu Zhao.
These nine emperors of the Great Han were also partners who had formed contracts with the nine dragon sons.
Han Gaozu Liu Bang, wearing sunglasses similar to a young Taoist priest’s and holding a cigar, said to Genghis Khan:
“Young man, you’re trying to outnumber me with my old Liu family? What were you thinking? These are all my own blood relatives. If you feel you don’t have enough people, I can call in a few more for you.”
“We Liu family don’t have much else, but when it comes to kings, we can certainly rally a few dozen.”
Temujin looked at the Liu family kings and couldn’t help but sigh, acknowledging their imposing presence.
A lineup of high-ranking kings, clad in imperial-grade armor, wielding inherited weapons, accompanied by their massive, majestic nine dragon sons. Their sheer arrogant aura alone was leagues ahead of his own men riding… well, those things.
Liu Bang took the last puff of his cigar, flicked the butt away, and then turned to say:
“Alright, we’ve rested enough. My sons, put in some more effort and take down the inner city of the fortress too.”
He then turned back to Temujin and said:
“Little Tie, gather your people. We’ll leave the battlefield cleanup to you later. Oh, and your ancestor is telling you something: young man, don’t be too arrogant.”
With that, he led the Liu family kings, standing atop the colossal nine dragon sons, and charged like a dark cloud towards the inner city of the Necromancer Fortress.
Emperor Hui of Han Liu Ying gave Liu Bang a thumbs-up and said:
“Father, your presence is truly imposing. You’ve completely intimidated that kid surnamed Tie.”
Emperor Wen of Han Liu Heng said to Emperor Hui of Han: “Eldest Brother, that kid isn’t surnamed Tie; his surname is Borjigin.”
Liu Bang curled his lips: “Whatever his surname is, if he dares to show off against us, we’ll teach him a lesson.”
“Our Great Han Liu family is descended from the ancient Imperial Dragon Clan, so even though we don’t have a Human Emperor overseeing us now, we are not to be trifled with by ordinary forces. Aside from those with ancient inheritances, there’s no need for us to pay much attention to the rest.”
“Furthermore, Old Ancestor Yulong Yan also said that if we follow Lin Zhan’s lead, there will be plenty of benefits for us.”
The Liu family kings nodded in agreement:
“What Gaozu said is correct. We still have a few young ladies from the Liu family in the Lin family. Let them work hard. Whether they gain a formal title is not important, as long as they can give birth to descendants. At worst, we can cultivate another imperial-level expert!”
Emperor Wen of Han Liu Heng shook his head: “Let this matter take its course. We, as ancestors, should not force it, lest people accuse us of using our own daughters to climb the ranks.”
Liu Bang nodded: “Third Son is right. Instead of scheming like this, it’s better for us old ancestors to fight a few more battles. The military merits we earn will not be few. Let’s first figure out how to break into the inner city.”
Liu Xiu stood on the head of Bāxià, looking at the inner city of the Necromancer Fortress and said:
“The defense formations of this inner city are different from the outer city. Once the inner city’s defense formations are fully activated, even those of the profound tier will find it difficult to break through, unless their energy is depleted. Otherwise, we’d need some profound-tier old ancestors to step in…”
“Achoo, achoo, achoo!”
“Damn it, who’s bad-mouthing me behind my back?”
Before Liu Xiu could finish speaking, three meteorites, each with a diameter of over ten meters, burning with fierce flames, fell from the sky.
Three consecutive meteors struck the inner city’s defense formations.
The entire inner city’s defense formation instantly flickered.
Liu Che moved closer to observe for a while and said, “What’s going on? It seems like the energy is depleted. Did some ancestor raid the Necromancer Fortress’s home base? Why isn’t there any energy replenishment?”
Liu Bang narrowed his eyes, looking at the inner city, and said, “Those three profound-tier necromancers haven’t shown themselves yet. You shouldn’t get too close, kid.”
Liu Che said dismissively, “No need to worry too much. Perhaps a few profound-tier old ancestors will make a move in the next moment.”
“Holy…!”
As soon as Liu Che finished speaking, the Xuan Sheng four brothers and the Tie family’s five Iron-Eating Beasts directly charged into the inner city.
The entire inner city shook violently a few times, and the Xuan Sheng four brothers emerged, carrying the three profound-tier necromancers.
Passing by the Liu family kings, Xuan Sheng said:
“You Liu family brats, there are still over a dozen kings inside. Go clean them all up.”
Instantly, the Liu family kings, led by Han Gaozu, looked at Liu Che and Liu Xiu in shock.
“Holy crap, is Liu Xiu someone’s illegitimate son? Or is your mouth blessed, Liu Che?”
“Achoo.”
Just as Liu Xiu was about to reply, he sneezed again.
Everyone immediately looked up at the sky. After two minutes of no movement in the sky, Liu Bang finally spoke:
“What illegitimate son of some deity? Xiu kid is our own Liu family’s seed. It was just a coincidence. My sons, prepare to attack… Holy crap!”
Before Liu Bang could finish speaking, a meteorite larger than the previous ones fell from the sky and struck the unprotected inner city.
The entire inner city trembled violently.
With a "boom," half of the intact inner city instantly collapsed.
A young Taoist priest observing the battlefield with binoculars in the distance instinctively wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. He muttered to himself:
“Holy crap, I can confirm it now. Those two are definitely cheating.”
