As the soldiers below began to move, Lin Zhan walked to Davis's side. He grabbed the captain by his collar and said, "Boy, do you have anything to say now?"
Davis, shaken by the successive blows, was lost and bewildered. Seeing Lin Zhan's eyes turn blood red, he roared, "Lin Zhan, I will kill you, kill you! You ruined my home, I will flay you alive!"
Looking at the killing intent radiating from Davis's eyes, Lin Zhan said coldly, "Kill me? Do you have the qualifications to fight me? Your military strength and your King-level and above experts are several times mine, yet have you beaten me? The Blackwater Lake fortress was the best time for you to kill me, but did you succeed? I gave you a chance, and you were useless." Lin Zhan tapped Davis's head repeatedly as he spoke.
The young Taoist tugged at Lin Zhan's sleeve and said, "Brother, we might have to pay money."
Lin Zhan froze, then roared at Davis, "Damn it, Davis, listen to me! After I flatten you lizardmen, if I find your resources are still not enough for my war expenses, I will sell every single one of you living lizardmen to the Ten Thousand Races as prostitutes... to earn back my war expenses!"
The young Taoist beside him quickly chimed in, "Brother, no need to sell them to the Ten Thousand Races. I have connections to sell them to the Indian special zones. Those guys are into that stuff."
Everyone present, hearing the conversation between these two, felt a chill run down their spines and instinctively tightened their legs.
"Holy crap, these two are too much. They can even come up with such wicked ideas. Can't they do something decent?"
"Grandson-in-law, is this business profitable? If it is, we can expand production. I'll send half of the Xuanbird Army to you."
A strange voice came from behind the crowd. They all turned to see a muscular man, shirtless, carrying a huge coffin.
Emperor Shang Tang, Di Xin, and Xuan Shang, along with the other two, seeing the newcomer, quickly bowed and said, "Greetings, Old Ancestor."
Lin Zhan was taken aback, then knew the newcomer was Shang Jiawei. He quickly pulled the young Taoist to bow and said, "Greetings, Old Ancestor. Why have you come out, Old Ancestor? Weren't you planning to give the lizardmen a surprise with those two emperor seats?"
Shang Jiawei shook his head and chuckled, "They're almost at our doorstep. Don't I have to come out and greet them? Otherwise, won't they think we Huaxia don't know how to be hospitable?"
Lin Zhan and the young Taoist were stunned, looking at Shang Tang doubtfully. When did our Great Shang have such a good-tempered Old Ancestor? Wasn't Old Ancestor Di Xin always the best-tempered?
Seeing Lin Zhan and the young Taoist's bewildered expressions, Shang Jiawei continued, "Zhan'er, look, we're all so polite. When the lizardmen come to visit, they certainly won't come empty-handed, right?"
This time, not only Lin Zhan was a bit bewildered, but even Davis, standing nearby, looked utterly confused at Shang Jiawei. He secretly thought, perhaps after dying for so many years, suddenly coming back to life was disorienting him. This old guy seemed a bit unaccustomed, speaking such nonsense. And expecting them to come empty-handed? If our two Old Ancestors over there didn't take action, it would be considered you thinking too highly of yourself.
Seeing everyone's expressions, Shang Jiawei chuckled again and said, "If they don't bring anything, or what they bring is unsatisfactory, it means they look down on us. Anyone who looks down on us can only be killed, not buried."
Only after Shang Jiawei uttered the phrase "killed, not buried" did Lin Zhan heave a sigh of relief. That's right, this was their Old Ancestor. Otherwise, if everyone was as good-tempered as Old Ancestor Di Xin, wouldn't their Great Shang be bullied to death? Lin Zhan looked deeply at Shang Jiawei, confirming with a glance: the Old Ancestor was a ruthless person.
The young Taoist, with great foresight, set up another table for Shang Jiawei. All the ingredients were the best he could procure at the moment. Even the wine was made with Lin Zhan's thousand-year-old vintage as the base, blended with a hundred kinds of spirit flowers by the Shennong tribe into a Hundred Flower Brew. The level of this banquet was several notches higher than the one for the Human Emperors earlier.
The various Human Emperors looked at the young Taoist in surprise, all lamenting, "This little fatty is too much. How can every action of his be so similar to that little bastard Lin Zhan?"
Shang Jiawei took a sip of the Hundred Flower Brew, smacked his lips, and said, "This little fatty has a heart. My mouth has been so bland for so many years, it's like birds have nested in it. It's just right to eat and drink a bit before going to fight."
Then, Shang Jiawei looked at Yu Longyan, Hou Yi, and Da Yu and said, "Old Ancestor Yan, Old Ancestor Yi, Old Ancestor Yu, it's been a long time. Let's sit down and have a chat."
Yu Longyan and the other two sat down and said to Shang Jiawei, "Indeed, it's been over 3000 years since we last met. Shang Jiawei, why was it you who was the first to be revived in the Great Shang?"
"Heh heh, perhaps it's because I'm relatively kind. The other Emperor-level Old Ancestors of our Great Shang are too warlike and not conducive to the development of the human race." Shang Jiawei said with a chuckle.
Shang Jiawei's words caused Da Yu, who was drinking, to choke: "Holy crap, boy, can you have some shame? You're kind? I wouldn't object if you called yourself wise, after all, you are one of the 'prospering every four generations' of the Great Shang. But to call you kind, where are you kind? You do less of the 'destroying clans and exterminating races' business, or rather, which of the Great Shang's past leaders did less of that?"
Yu Longyan chimed in, pointing at Lin Zhan, "Don't talk about these leaders of the Great Shang, even this little turtle doesn't do less 'destroying clans and exterminating races' business. Including the lizardmen, there are several races you've decided to exterminate."
Lin Zhan heard this and laughed shamelessly, "Heh heh, you flatter me, Old Ancestors, it's all what I should do."
Yu Longyan looked at Lin Zhan's demeanor and roared with a dark face, "Get lost! Do you think I'm praising you?"
Shang Jiawei took a contented sip of his wine, narrowed his eyes, and said to Yu Longyan, "Ancestor Yan, I exterminated the Mianchen clan to avenge my father. Is that wrong? As for our Great Shang massacring the water tribes, it was at the command of Emperor Xuanyuan to assist Old Ancestor Yu in controlling the floods. They, the water tribes, didn't give us face and almost killed my grandfather. Based on this alone, is it too much for us to have killed 72 water tribes?"
The young Taoist poured wine for the ancestors while shaking his head, saying, "Not too much, not too much at all. If my big brother were to act, he could wipe out entire races."
After the young Taoist spoke, Yu Longyan's face became even darker. Shang Jiawei, however, said happily, "This child has aspirations from a young age and will surely achieve great things in the future."
