In the playground, everyone was replaying the basketball game that had just happened, feeling their cells tremble and a state of excitement.
"Damn, was that a game I could actually watch without paying?" After a minute, a voice broke the silence.
"It was amazing!"
"That ape played so well."
"He's not an ape, I've decided. Lin Hao is my new idol, Wang Fang!" said Wang Fang next to her.
"He's mine!" The girl next to Wang Fang immediately objected, shouting at her.
"You guys keep arguing. I'm taking Hu Tu, my little cutie, with me." Her tone was full of happiness.
"Look at Hu Tu on the playground, why is he looking down? Is he sad? Ahhh, I feel so sorry for him! Come here, sister will give you a hug."
Some boys, seeing these infatuated girls, scoffed and said sourly, "So what if he's good at basketball?"
"Yeah, I really don't understand these girls' brains," another boy added.
"We like whoever we want to like. Who are you to tell us?" Wang Fang retorted to the envious boys.
"Yeah, you don't like handsome guys, do you like someone like you?" The girl who had been arguing fiercely with Wang Fang stopped, then looked the boy up and down.
The boy was speechless, his face turning red.
At this moment, only two people remained on the basketball court. One sat on the ground, staring blankly in one direction, while the other stood behind him, looking down at the person on the ground. The streak of red on his head seemed to have dimmed with his owner's mood.
Just then, the person on the ground seemed to remember something, snapped back to attention, and quickly got up to run towards where he had been looking.
Han Gengyao watched the person on the ground get up and run off. For some reason, he shouted at the retreating figure.
"Hey, Hu Tu."
Hu Tu, who had already reached the edge of the playground, heard someone calling him from behind. He turned back with a hint of impatience, looking at Han Gengyao on the court, becoming even more impatient. Hu Tu was a bit arrogant and had always liked playing with those who had defeated him since he was young.
'Oh? What is it?' Hu Tu's face clearly conveyed these words.
"Nothing," Han Gengyao was surprised Hu Tu actually turned around. He scratched the back of his head awkwardly. As the legitimate son of the Han family, he knew the little tyrant of the Hu family.
The Hu family, one of the four great families of the empire, controlled one-fifth of the empire's military power. Hu Tu had grown up under military-style education since he was young. Whether he had developed a rigorous personality was unknown; instead, he had been arrogant and dismissive of others since childhood.
Hu Tu gave Han Gengyao a 'moron' look and ran off.
What a moron.
This was the second time. The second time he had been defeated by the same person.
Hu Tu thought about it more and more, his eyes filled with interest.
I want to be best friends with him!
A voice echoed in Hu Tu's mind.
And then defeat him.
Lin Hao was walking back to the classroom, and for some reason, he felt that the way the girls were looking at him was a little off.
Walking slowly down the corridor, he accidentally glanced at the window and stood frozen, lost in thought.
His hands gripped the windowsill, his head craned out, trying hard to make out the figure by the doorway.
Is it you?
Are you back?
Lin Hao became more and more agitated as he thought about it, and he jumped directly out of the window.
Hu Tu, who had just run to the corridor, saw a person he found particularly annoying, a cold-faced, incredibly boring Qin Mohan.
Hu Tu nodded at Qin Mohan, a polite nod. After all, he might have to work for him in the future. The person opposite glanced at him and walked away.
So aloof.
Hu Tu rolled his eyes at the person in front.
Tch.
Both of them saw someone jump out of the window.
It looked a bit familiar.
Hu Tu quickly ran to the windowsill and cursed as he watched Lin Hao, who had already run far away. The person next to him didn't look back and entered the classroom.
"Your deskmate is a bit cold," Hu Tu muttered, looking at Qin Mohan's retreating back as he entered the classroom.
In order to see that person whose identity he didn't know at the school gate, Lin Hao silently used his mental power, just to see that person faster.
A journey that would normally take ten minutes was completed in three.
Lin Hao ran to the school gate and asked the security guard, "Where did that person go?" His breath was a little unstable.
The security guard, seeing the panting Lin Hao, didn't scold him and said, "He's already gone."
"Really?" Lin Hao asked again, not believing it.
"Yes, why would I lie to you?" the security guard said.
Lin Hao ran to the gate and looked out through the high electric fence. Outside, apart from the tall trees, he didn't see anyone, not even a fluctuation of her mental energy, not a trace.
Maybe she hasn't come back yet.
Lin Hao comforted himself, looking down, and slowly walked towards the teaching building.
Hu Tu sat on a stool at the entrance of Class One, waiting for Lin Hao to return. Soon, a crowd gathered around him, and everyone was trying to talk to this person.
"Classmate Hu, have you eaten? If not, if you don't mind, you can eat mine." A girl bravely spoke to the handsome man, pushing her lunchbox towards him as she spoke.
Hu Tu was meticulously filing his nails. He heard the voice and looked up. He recognized her as a weakling and, with that in mind, stopped looking at the girl.
The girl held her lunchbox, and the person in front of her didn't speak, making the situation incredibly awkward.
The surrounding chatter slowly grew louder.
"Who is that? So ugly, and still out here embarrassing themselves." Said one girl.
"Yeah, yeah. She should look in the mirror before going out. Scaring people in broad daylight," another girl added.
As the insults from the surroundings increased, the girl's head drooped lower, and her fingers trembled.
Hu Tu, bothered by the noise around him, rubbed his head and said, "All of you, get lost."
The people around immediately retreated to their classrooms at this command. Who would dare not? Given the Hu family's status, eliminating a certain family was just a matter of saying it.
Finally, it was quiet. For some reason, why had so many people suddenly appeared around him? What a strange thing.
After waiting for a few minutes, Hu Tu finally saw Lin Hao at the classroom door. He didn't know why Lin Hao wasn't angry at all. The surrounding area was gloomy, just like in the morning, strange and senseless.
Lin Hao reached the classroom door and saw someone in front of him. He looked up and realized it was Monkey.
"Something wrong?" Lin Hao asked Hu Tu in front of him.
The implied meaning was: if there's nothing, move aside, don't block the way.
Hu Tu also understood Lin Hao's impatience and said, "Nothing much, just here to fulfill my promise, to complete the 'Soul Oath'."
Lin Hao nodded. In his impression, he thought that a rich kid like him wouldn't keep his promises, but he didn't expect this foolish monkey to come to him. The gloom in his eyes lessened a bit.
Hu Tu said, "Relax, slowly release your mental power. Promise me, don't get agitated no matter what I do next." Especially don't resist, he didn't want to become an idiot.
Seeing the person in front nod and relax his body, Hu Tu also slowly released his mental power.
Soon, Lin Hao felt a trace of red, which did not originally belong to him, appear in his mental power. This should be the monkey's mental color, not much, but quite arrogant and provocative.
The red mental power entered a brand new space, shouting everywhere, but after less than two minutes, it was suppressed and hid in a corner, trembling.
A Soul Oath is when the oath-taker places their spirit in the other person's divine sea, and it remains connected to the original body. As long as the initiator issues the oath, and the executor fails to complete it, the mental power remaining in the other person's divine sea will be oppressed, and the original body's mental power will be ravaged a hundredfold. The feeling would be worse than death. Each time an oath is completed, a bit of the mental power in the other's divine sea will return, until all are completed.
Hu Tu's face turned pale due to the separation of a trace of mental power. He returned to the classroom without acknowledging Lin Hao.
