Liu Sandao entered Wuma due to Bai Suxiang.
Bai Suxiang was tasked with finding a reliable person for office cleaning, and this presented an opportunity.
She printed Liu Sandao's information and resume, placing it on Zuo Ruxiu's desk.
Zuo Ruxiu glanced at it briefly, wondering if it was a waste of talent for someone with Liu Sandao's high educational background to apply for a cleaning position.
Had university students become so devalued nowadays?
She didn't overthink it. After all, for someone who had recently graduated, getting into a large group like Wuma was something everyone scrambled for. She hadn't understood it before, but now, from her current position, she saw it clearly – this was the reality of society.
Bai Suxiang and A Li were both university students, yet they were doing basic work, even running errands.
Most importantly, he appeared refined and harmless.
A cleaning job was a cleaning job. If he did well, he could continue; if not, dismissing him wouldn't be too late.
When Bai Suxiang informed Liu Sandao of his acceptance, she expected him to be delighted. However, he merely responded with a "Hmm."
"Hmph! Ungrateful!"
Bai Suxiang snorted coldly and said.
Wuma Group had many cleaners, each responsible for a section of hallways and offices.
The newly added cleaning position was specifically created by Zuo Ruxiu for her own use, a request personally approved by Cai Rong.
Because her mobility was currently limited, she urgently needed someone to assist her.
Liu Sandao's work was simple: tidying Zuo Ruxiu's desk and the file room. When he had nothing else to do, he could rest in the stairwell.
The job was very leisurely, giving Liu Sandao ample time to learn about the company.
Everything in the company seemed normal; employees came to work, and the boss held meetings. On the surface, it was calm.
Perhaps this was the case for all companies.
The situation changed abruptly, in an instant.
One day, after Zuo Ruxiu left work, Liu Sandao was tidying her desk when Cai Jinqu arrived.
Why would he come at this hour when the boss wasn't here? What could he possibly want?
"Manager Cai, hello! The boss isn't here."
Liu Sandao said, continuing with his task.
"I know, I know. Zuo Ruxiu said the files for me are on her desk, and she asked me to pick them up!"
Cai Jinqu replied.
He spoke calmly, showing no hint of the animosity between him and Zuo Ruxiu.
"Oh!"
Liu Sandao softly acknowledged.
Since Zuo Ruxiu had told him to pick them up, the files must be in a conspicuous place.
Liu Sandao's job was to organize her desk, so he had to stay half an hour later every day.
As Cai Jinqu spoke, he began searching Zuo Ruxiu's desk.
The desk was not large and not hard to search. Cai Jinqu quickly found the files he was looking for. However, as he searched, a piece of scrap paper on the desk caught his attention.
It was something Liu Sandao had prepared to throw into the trash, which he hadn't had time to clear away.
Cai Jinqu seemed to see something and casually picked up one of the papers, glancing at it.
A glint flashed in his eyes, something difficult for most to notice, but Liu Sandao saw it.
Just as he was about to speak, Cai Jinqu said, "This is scrap paper, isn't it? May I use one to wrap my files? My hands are oily from eating earlier, and I don't want to dirty the files."
His explanation was reasonable. It was a pile of scrap paper about to be cleared, so there was no reason to refuse.
"Of course."
Liu Sandao readily agreed, not thinking too much about it.
Cai Jinqu deliberately picked up the paper and rubbed it back and forth on his hand, pretending to wipe his hands.
In reality, Liu Sandao saw that he only lightly touched the back of his hand with the paper; the side with writing remained untouched.
He quickly stuffed it into his pocket, picked up his files, and left the office in a hurry.
Liu Sandao was curious why Cai Jinqu reacted so strongly to the pile of scrap paper and couldn't help but look at the remaining scraps.
Several sheets of paper lay flat on the desk.
If one didn't know that offices often had many misprinted documents, they might think these papers were all important.
But when Zuo Ruxiu left, she had already instructed Liu Sandao to put important documents in the file room.
On those scrap papers, the name of a company, "Yousu Technology," appeared simultaneously, followed by a string of letters with the abbreviation "us."
It seemed like just a company that did business with Wuma, nothing special.
"Whoosh!"
Liu Sandao tossed them into the trash can.
After finishing his work and preparing to leave, he specifically went to the front desk to call Bai Suxiang to go together.
To his surprise, Bai Suxiang was buried in front of her computer at that moment, typing with great concentration.
"Knock, knock, knock!"
"Hey! It's time to go home!"
Liu Sandao knocked a few times at the front desk and then said.
Bai Suxiang didn't look up, her eyes fixed on the screen, and said, "You go ahead. I'll be a while longer. I might even have to work overtime tonight!"
"Overtime? The office is empty. Who are you working overtime for?"
"It's about this Yousu Technology... sigh, you go ahead!"
Hearing "Yousu Technology," Liu Sandao became interested.
Why did Cai Jinqu's eyes light up when he mentioned it? And why was Bai Suxiang working alone when everyone else had left?
"Do you need any help?"
Liu Sandao asked.
He expected Bai Suxiang, with her personality, to refuse, as it involved company business.
But Bai Suxiang readily agreed, "Okay, okay! If you help me finish typing, I'll treat you to ice cream!"
She was typing up ordinary documents; it was just a large volume and didn't involve any critical metrics.
The reason she had to rush to finish them was that Zuo Ruxiu needed them for a meeting tomorrow, so they had to be organized.
A Li had a blind date arranged for the evening and had to go, leaving early. Liu Sandao's offer of help was a godsend to Bai Suxiang.
With Liu Sandao's abilities, he could have finished the work with a flick of his finger, but he didn't.
He sat down diligently and honestly in front of A Li's computer and opened it with great care.
Because this was the company's front desk, there were usually surveillance cameras.
Although the cameras might not see much, finishing all the work in one or two minutes would still be astonishing.
To avoid exposure and to learn more about "Yousu Technology," Liu Sandao began working with utmost seriousness.
It was a chip company and a supplier to Wuma Group.
However, judging by Cai Jinqu's reaction upon learning about it, there was likely more to the story.
Liu Sandao had to carefully examine every detail.
"What are you looking at so intently?"
