Chapter 301 Sworn Brother

When Shi Mian Luosha returned to the Asura Realm, he did not see Na Qianlai. He guessed that his lord might have had other matters to attend to, and therefore had not returned to the Asura Realm.

However, he had not seen hide nor hair of him for several days, which was strange.

He immediately explained the situation to Wutou Shi and dispatched people to search for Na Qianlai.

Fortunately, in this world, there was no corner that souls could not reach. Before long, word came that Na Qianlai was in Die Long Town in Lishui City.

Shi Mian Luosha immediately went with Wutou Shi to greet Na Qianlai.

For them, there had to be a leader. With Shi Mian Luosha's strength, he was not sufficient to bear the responsibility of the god of death, nor was he able to contend with Na Qianlai. Even if Na Qianlai were injured, he would not be a match for him.

The possibility of replacement had not been considered, but there had been no opportunity.

Na Qianlai was overjoyed to see Shi Mian Luosha and several souls coming to greet him.

Finally, he could return to the Asura Realm. Compared to the fleeting pleasures of the mortal world, his grand ambitions were what truly kept him from letting go.

However, leaving so abruptly without saying goodbye seemed rather unfair to Xue Wanying, who had taken such meticulous care of him for so many days.

He decided to say goodbye before leaving, and asked Shi Mian Luosha to pick him up the following night.

When Xue Wanying heard that Na Qianlai was inviting her for a grand meal, she was ecstatic.

She left work early, dressed beautifully, and prepared to go to the best restaurant in town for a feast.

This was something Na Qianlai had promised, and she couldn't miss the opportunity.

Money meant nothing to Na Qianlai; whether it was expensive or not was not an issue.

She had expected to have a grand meal, say a happy farewell, and that would be that.

But to her surprise, when Xue Wanying heard that he was leaving, she fell silent, turning the entire joyful occasion into something rather somber.

Xue Wanying's demeanor changed, and she lost all her usual vivacity.

If she hadn't known her true personality, one might have thought she was inherently timid and weak.

Na Qianlai had no choice but to try and appease her.

"Alright, alright, don't be unhappy. Brother will come visit you when he has time! Okay!"

Na Qianlai said.

Xue Wanying's feelings were complex. She didn't know why she was sad. If it were love, it wasn't quite that. It had only been a few days. If it were that she had no feelings whatsoever, that wasn't entirely true either. Her heart felt as though something precious had been hollowed out.

However, Na Qianlai's words, "Brother will come visit you when he has time," allowed her to comfort herself, "This is purely a friendship between us. Recently, it's just been like a brother-sister relationship, nothing more."

"Mhm! Yes! Brother..."

As Xue Wanying spoke, she unexpectedly drank half a liang of white wine from Na Qianlai's cup.

"I have a proposal. How about we become sworn siblings? That way, you'll definitely come to see me, your sister, in the future, right?"

Xue Wanying said.

She didn't really know what she was babbling about.

But in truth, human emotions are often inexplicable. Some people enter your life and leave without you ever being fully prepared.

Na Qianlai had never considered becoming sworn siblings with a mortal.

However, seeing Xue Wanying's state, it seemed as though she was desperately trying to hold onto something.

Na Qianlai agreed.

"Okay, okay, sworn siblings it is! From today onwards, I am your rightful elder brother!"

To comfort Xue Wanying, who was sad for reasons unknown, Na Qianlai said with good cheer.

Perhaps only time could heal all sorts of emotional turmoil. Once one left, forgotten, things would slowly return to normal.

On the day Na Qianlai left, Xue Wanying no longer looked unhappy as she had the night before; she appeared very serene.

Everyone experiences sorrow and joy, partings and reunions. Each experience leads to growth.

Upon returning to the Asura Realm, Na Qianlai quickly resumed his healing. One day, Wutou Shi rushed in with a report.

This time, Wutou Shi did not babble on. Instead, he presented Na Qianlai with a video.

Na Qianlai's injuries had only just begun to improve; the blocked meridians had only just been cleared. It would still take some time for him to regain full control.

Before he went into seclusion again, he needed to arrange the affairs of the Asura Realm, so this was considered an unscheduled inspection and work summary.

Wutou Shi took advantage of this interval to show him the video.

Ever since he learned that Xue Wanying had become Na Qianlai's sworn sister, Wutou Shi had been contemplating how to establish a connection. Whenever he had free time, he would visit, ostensibly on Na Qianlai's behalf.

This was its strength: it did not care about gains or losses. Although it seemed like a thankless task, it would still do it.

It didn't know if there were any fish, but without casting a net, there would certainly be no fish.

"What is this? A trifling trick, what good is it?"

Na Qianlai said dismissively. This was a website for Sudan novels.

It was merely a video of a fight, and such things were common in the mortal world. As for the Asura Realm, if one didn't risk their life, it wouldn't be called the Asura Realm.

"Lord, please watch carefully!"

Wutou Shi's voice was very serious, and he dared not show any slackness.

Only then did Na Qianlai calmly watch the video. He saw a person walking into a shop.

He was wearing an army-green shirt and jeans, with his hair cut in a flat-top style.

Upon entering, he first surveyed the people standing near the door and found there were four girls.

Without any warning, he walked towards the counter.

As he walked, he shouted towards the inside of the counter, "Boss, move that table for her outside. Damn it!"

His words were very arrogant.

The boss was a woman in her forties or fifties who was accustomed to such arrogant and overbearing people. Of course, more importantly, her own establishment had its protectors.

Moreover, although most of the business relied on such unsavory characters.

Because they were willing to spend money, and they could eat and drink whatever they pleased. As for where the money came from, she didn't care, nor did she dare to.

"Okay, okay!"

The boss replied casually as she tallied accounts with her head bowed.

In her opinion, it was just a matter of moving a table, what harm could it do? As long as this person wasn't offended.

The man in the army-green shirt heard the reply and turned to leave.

Normally, it would be fine for him to leave, but this was where the focus of the video began.

Na Qianlai took a breath and leaned back in his swivel chair.

In the video, the man in the army-green shirt, upon reaching the doorway, did not exit directly. Instead, he reached out and touched the back of one of the people beside him.

He thought such a gesture was normal. Didn't girls these days like to be flirted with by men?

He had done this more than once or twice before; it was a familiar routine.

Furthermore, if the boss moved their table outside later, perhaps they could sit together.

He thought this, but he couldn't control others' thoughts.

Unexpectedly, the girl reacted strongly, "What are you doing!"
