Second Senior Brother

Chapter 978 Mies is Dead????

Another tank from the army group appeared before Chen Fan.

Chen Fan handled it with his usual simplicity, two shots.

One targeted the cannon barrel, the other the tank treads.

The tank was disabled again.

To the soldiers of the army group, this mysterious sniper was now an omnipresent phantom.

With the cover of the Golden Silkworm Armor, Chen Fan could snipe with ease.

Chen Fan's voice crackled through the commander of the first regiment's earpiece.

"Is that you??? Leader Chen!" The commander of the first regiment was so excited to hear Chen Fan's voice again, he wished he could hug him immediately.

With fifty special armor-piercing manganese steel anti-tank rounds, Chen Fan had single-handedly held off over twenty thousand soldiers and all the tanks for a full hour.

In that hour, the enemy force had advanced less than five hundred meters, a feat the commander of the first regiment considered a miracle upon miracles.

Chen Fan's ammunition was now dwindling to less than a single magazine. Upon hearing the commander of the first regiment's response in his earpiece,

"Immediately notify the other regimental commanders. All of you, prepare to exit the city and directly annihilate the enemy."

Chen Fan spoke into the earpiece.

"Leader Chen, what did you say?"

The commander of the first regiment was stunned when Chen Fan ordered a full sortie to annihilate the enemy.

The commander of the first regiment could not fathom that the same person who had consistently cautioned them against rash attacks was now ordering them to advance directly.

"What exactly is Leader Chen thinking?"

The commander of the first regiment muttered to himself.

Nevertheless, he proceeded to execute Chen Fan's command.

To the commander of the first regiment, Chen Fan was their pillar of strength; following his lead was always the right decision.

Meanwhile, within Marshal Carter's army group.

Marshal Carter's joy, as he watched the approaching force not far from the base's entrance, gradually faded.

"Immediately notify the leader of this unit! What in the world are they still doing out there!"

Marshal Carter commanded.

As the signalman connected the call to the forward unit.

The communicator on the other end of the line immediately handed the phone to the newly appointed general.

Marshal Carter's voice boomed from the receiver.

He berated the general who had been killed earlier.

Clearly, Carter was still unaware of the situation unfolding on the front lines.

Hearing Marshal Carter's furious outburst, there was silence from the other end of the line for quite some time.

Marshal Carter began to sense something was amiss and calmly asked into the phone,

"Where is General Mies?"

The newly appointed deputy general replied,

"Report, Marshal Carter, General Mies is dead."

Upon hearing this, Marshal Carter froze.

"Mies is dead??? You're not lying to me, are you?"

Marshal Carter composed himself and said,

"Report, Marshal Carter! General Mies is dead. I am temporarily assuming command of the general's duties."

The newly appointed general quickly responded.

Marshal Carter's expression turned grave.

"Report the casualties."

Although Marshal Carter was unhappy about General Mies's death, he had no choice. For Marshal Carter, the army's casualties were of paramount importance.

After all, while Marshal Carter mourned the death of General Mies,

his priority now was the number of casualties in his ranks.

These troops had been borrowed from his friends, not his own.

As the newly appointed general spoke.

Marshal Carter was struck dumb, remaining silent for a long time.

The general beside Marshal Carter looked at him with confusion.

"Marshal Carter, what's wrong?" the neighboring general asked.

Marshal Carter paused for nearly a minute before replying to the inquiring general.

"Have you ever encountered a divine being, a sniper who disabled four tanks in plain sight and yet remains untraceable?"

Hearing Marshal Carter's words, the general also froze.

"Marshal Carter, I believe only your special forces from Pretty Country could achieve such a feat."

The neighboring general stated.

Hearing his subordinate's words, Marshal Carter slowly responded.

"And do you think the mercenaries from the Middle East, Africa, and the enemy country, who arrived by transport plane, possess such capabilities?"

This time, the general thought for a moment before replying to Marshal Carter.

"Given the existence of troops in such peculiar armor, it's entirely possible for such a divine being to appear."

Upon saying this, the general's body trembled as if a realization had struck him.

"Marshal Carter, you don't mean to say that over ten thousand of them are such terrifying individuals, do you?"

Marshal Carter offered no verbal response, merely shaking his head slowly.

Seeing Marshal Carter shake his head, the general gradually breathed a sigh of relief.

However, Marshal Carter then added,

"But on their side, there is one such individual, who has been delaying our forces for nearly an hour."

Meanwhile, on Chen Fan's side.

Nearly ten minutes had passed since he spoke into the earpiece.

Finally, a response came through the earpiece.

"Leader Chen, we're all out!"

Chen Fan looked towards the entrance of the Middle Eastern, African, and Imperial territory.

Indeed, the city gates at the entrance to the Middle Eastern, African, and Imperial territories were now wide open.
