Chapter 172: Chapter 172: Excessive Blood Loss
Evelyn Clayton was frightened by the terrifying James Grant, and finally let out a low growl while trembling all over.
She looked up at James, who was injured and had blood seeping from the corner of his mouth.
But in those eyes filled with sinister darkness, there was a fierce and uncontrollable redness.
If he continued fighting like this, she was afraid James would accidentally kill someone.
"I’ll go."
She bit her lower lip, holding back the sting in her nostrils, raised her chin, and indifferently said the two words.
Nathan Carter revealed a triumphant smile: "Very good, Director Grant will repay your kindness, please come with me."
"No."
He let go of the man who passed out from the beating and walked up to her, his face and hands stained with blood, his scarlet eyes resting on her.
Yet he was trying to suppress that bloodthirsty beastliness, as James saw the fear in her eyes.
It was the first time Evelyn saw James so terrifying, as if he didn’t care about his life, utterly insane.
It turned out that when pushed to the limit, he truly was capable of anything.
But she couldn’t watch him make a mistake.
"James Grant, that’s your father; saving your father is saving you."
Evelyn suppressed her voice, heavy with nasal tone.
Yet she tried to display indifference, walked straight past him, and got into the car with Nathan Carter.
James couldn’t stop them in time, and Nathan immediately drove away.
He quickly went to the parking lot to drive, his blood-stained left hand trembling on the steering wheel.
In the hospital.
Nathan Carter took Evelyn for a blood draw; the doctor prepared four empty blood bags.
The needle pierced her fair skin, and bright red blood flowed out, turning her eyes red with tears.
She seemed to see James’s out-of-control violence, so horrific and frightening.
After two bags of blood were drawn, Evelyn’s face and lips were pale, and all her strength seemed to drain away with the blood.
She struggled to maintain her strength.
Just as the doctor was about to draw the third bag of blood.
James arrived, rushed over, and fiercely grasped the doctor’s hand, rage bursting forth.
His blood-stained sinister eyes created an overwhelming suffocating feeling, his voice cold as ice.
"Two bags aren’t enough? Do you want to watch her die from excessive blood loss?"
The doctor was startled by the extremely dark aura of the man in front of him: "W-What do you want to do?"
Matthew Sullivan hurried over, pulled out the needle meant to continue drawing Evelyn’s blood, pressed the wound with cotton, and looked heartbroken: "Evelyn, are you okay?"
"Young Master, Director Grant is now in the emergency room waiting for a blood-related rescue; do you want Director Grant to die?! Someone, continue drawing blood."
Nathan Carter waved his hand to call a few more doctors, pushed Matthew aside, forcibly pinned down Evelyn’s arm, and continued drawing blood.
Evelyn’s delicate face was extremely pale, her brows furrowed tightly; the excessive blood loss left her body overwhelmed.
She didn’t have the strength to struggle.
Her exceptionally weak appearance pierced James’s heart with pain.
James rushed forward and grabbed Nathan’s throat, his forehead veins bulging, his hoarse voice frightening: "Do you believe I will kill you?"
Nathan was strangled, unable to breathe.
He struggled desperately, gesturing for the doctors to stop.
"No..."
Evelyn, seeing him about to lose control again, wanted to stand up to stop him.
But suddenly her vision went dark, her consciousness muddled, and she fell straight to the floor.
"Evelyn!"
Matthew exclaimed in shock, a figure rushing past him at high speed.
James shoved Nathan aside, rushed over, and held the fainted Evelyn in his arms, the darkness in his eyes replaced with panic.
He held her, her body chillingly cold.
"Doctor! Save her!"
James’s whole body was tense, running towards the emergency room, terrified of hurting the person in his arms.
As he passed Nathan, the rampant violent aura made him look as if he’d just walked out of hell.
"If anything happens to her, I’ll make you bury her!"
In a short sentence, Nathan felt as if he had stepped into the gates of hell, terrified and frozen in place.
