Chapter 1108: Chapter 1099 Family Conflict (3)
Xia Siyu smiled, “Oh, this is the brand I endorsed. It’s the new design for this year, quite nice, right?”
Xia Siyu deliberately didn’t mention how hard it is to buy these clothes now.
Unexpectedly, Bo Qiliu nodded, “Hmm, not bad.”
This was a brief interlude that didn’t draw much attention from the rest of the Bo Family. Even if Aunt, Bo Yi thought her husband (dad) was a bit too enthusiastic, it was just a single comment, and then everything went on as usual.
At lunch, Xia Siyu happily got to eat the mutton hotpot she ordered. Mutton is too warm, so Xia Sicai couldn’t eat much. The elderly Bo also had issues with internal heat, so he couldn’t eat mutton. Most of it ended up being for Xia Siyu.
Xia Siyu enjoyed her meal and some gossip, feeling exceptionally satisfied. While the Bo Family thought Xia Siyu was acting a bit strange, they didn’t read too much into it. After all, the company’s personnel appointments were already decided, and Bo Qiliu and Bo Yi were the confirmed successors.
Since Bosch would be managed by them in the future, whatever Xia Siyu and Bo Yan did here wouldn’t stir up any significant waves.
Xia Siyu didn’t worry much; since there was nothing urgent today, she decided to stay here for a day to rest. Right after lunch, she started planning to cook rice dumplings for the evening. After all, it’s the Lantern Festival, and while they might skip the lanterns, the dumplings were a must!
Xia Siyu insisted that she wanted both sweet peanut sesame and meat-filled rice dumplings. She also wanted the broth to be sweet wine with beaten eggs, pouring the eggs into the boiling sweet wine, which tasted particularly good. When eating, she would have a sweet one first, take a sip of the broth, then have a savory meat-filled one, the flavor bursting with richness and layers, far less greasy than just sweet ones, and incredibly tasty.
Bo Yan always let her have her way, especially since she wasn’t working recently. Even though she ordered to her heart’s content, she knew that she would have to work out for however much she ate. After a nap, Bo Yan dragged Xia Siyu out to hike.
The old Bo Family residence is nestled by the mountains and water. This area is mountainous, with a national forest park not far away, lush with vegetation and in a nice environment. A circle around the small hill behind the house takes about an hour, and in the mornings and afternoons, many people come here to walk their dogs and take a stroll.
In the afternoon, there weren’t many people coming for a walk, so Bo Yan seized the chance to drag Xia Siyu out for a hike, threatening: no evening dumplings if they didn’t go for a walk. Even as lazy as Xia Siyu was, for the sake of delicious food, she had to compromise, and the two headed out for a walk together.
Just in time for the New Year, as they were entertainers, they couldn’t go shopping or have fun outside, only watching movies and reading books at home, so coming out was a kind of escape.
Although Xia Siyu was lazy, her stamina wasn’t bad, and they quickly reached the mountaintop. There were two paths there, one leading back to the villa area and another to the forest park. Xia Siyu paused for a moment, choosing to head towards the forest park.
The forest park was even quieter, with the sounds of birds being almost the only noise if they were silent. They hadn’t walked far when Xia Siyu and Bo Yan heard someone on the phone not far away. Initially, they paid no heed and just put on masks to disguise themselves. But after a few steps, they recognized the voice on the call and slowed down simultaneously: it was Bo Qiliu’s voice.
Although he usually responded with simple “Hmm”, “Ah”, “Okay”, and “Take care”, one occasional sentence caught Xia Siyu and Bo Yan off guard: “If you have no appetite, eat more sour things.”
