Chapter 106: I need to work on myself
"I’m not stopping you from doing whatever you want to do, but at least drop a note or let me know where you are. It’s not fair to just disappear like that, I’m not going to ask what made you do what you did but still..."
Haeun took a step back and wiped his tears, perhaps he should see a therapist, he shouldn’t be having panic attacks.
"I know I’m not perfect, im probably not the best person for you but..."
Yeongsoo sighed and pulled Haeun closer, this was all his fault, he should have just told Haeun where he was going to.
"There’s nothing you do that I can’t tolerate, I love you regardless and it’s my fault for not telling you where I was going, I’m sorry...it won’t happen again.."
Haeun smiled and hugged Yeongsoo back, the stress and tension washing away with relief.
"Suho told me you’ll be fine but I just ended up worrying.."
Haeun took off Yeongsoo coat as he said this, Yeongsoo liking him was good but how long would he be able to tolerate his behaviors.
He definitely needed to start therapy.
"Are you hungry? I can make kimichi rice for you?"
Haeun asked as he walked back to Yeongsoo, who pulled him back into his embrace.
"No...I’m not hungry, I just miss you.." Yeongsoo kissed Haeun cheeks, glancing at the clock it was already past everyone’s bedtime.
"I missed you too, Suho is already asleep but I couldn’t.."
As they walked to the room, Haeun felt a pang in his lower belly but he didn’t say anything it was probably just the kimichi digesting.
The night had settled into a calm silence, and the tension from earlier finally began to dissipate. Haeun and Yeongsoo lay together in bed, the dim glow of the bedside lamp casting their soft shadows across the room.
Yeongsoo turned slightly, brushing a stray strand of hair from Haeun’s face. "Are you feeling better?" he asked quietly.
Haeun nodded, his fingers tracing idle patterns on Yeongsoo’s chest. "Yeah... I think so. Thank you for staying with me."
"You don’t have to thank me," Yeongsoo said, his voice steady. "I told you—I love you, no matter what. If something’s wrong, I want to be here for you."
Haeun closed his eyes, his heart warming at the sincerity in Yeongsoo’s words. "I don’t deserve you, Haeun."
"Don’t say that," Yeongsoo murmured, pressing a kiss to Haeun’s forehead. "You deserve everything, Haeun."
"You deserve everything too Yeongsoo, are you happy being with me?"
Yeongsoo smiled, he hasn’t regretted it up until now.
"I’m lucky, im very happy and I’ll be even happier when our mini mino arrives.."
The two fell into a comfortable silence, the sound of their breathing in sync. Haeun’s mind drifted briefly to Suho, who was fast asleep in the next room. Their small family wasn’t conventional, but it was home.
"I missed you," Haeun admitted softly, breaking the quiet.
"I missed you too," Yeongsoo replied, tightening his arm around him.
With that, Haeun allowed himself to relax, the weight of the day melting away as they drifted into sleep.
The next morning, sunlight streamed into the room, nudging Haeun awake. He stirred, stretching slightly before turning to see Yeongsoo still asleep beside him. Quietly slipping out of bed, he went through his morning routine, preparing breakfast for the three of them was something that Yeongsoo did but today he was the one that was going to do it.
By the time Yeongsoo came downstairs, the table was already set, and Suho was already seated, nibbling on toast and scribbling on a notepad.
"Good morning," Haeun greeted, a soft smile on his face as he poured Yeongsoo a cup of coffee.
"Morning," Yeongsoo replied, his voice husky from sleep. "Everything smells great, now I’m a bit worried that you made breakfast."
"..."
"I’m a good cook...I-I just don’t cook often.."
They ate together, the warmth of the morning making the house feel even cozier. As they finished, Haeun cleared his throat, turning to Yeongsoo.
"After breakfast, I need to head out," Haeun began. "I have an appointment I booked last night."
Yeongsoo frowned slightly, setting his mug down. "An appointment? What kind?"
Haeun hesitated, glancing at Suho, who was preoccupied with his drawing. He took a deep breath. "I booked a therapy session. After... everything last night, I realized I need help managing my anxiety and panic attacks. I didn’t want to tell you until I was sure I’d go through with it."
"But you’re okay why do you need to book a therapy session?"
Haeun took his head, sure he was okay physically but mentally...he wasn’t so sure.
"I’m not, that’s why I want to get better.."
Yeongsoo’s expression softened, though concern lingered in his eyes. "I wish you’d told me sooner, still I’m glad you’re doing this, Haeun. Do you need me to come with you?"
Haeun shook his head, smiling faintly. "I’ll be okay. But thank you. There’s something else, though."
"What is it?"
"Suho," Haeun said, glancing at the boy. "He needs to start school soon. We should start visiting some elementary schools this week to find the right one for him."
"School?" Suho perked up, his eyes wide. "Am I starting school soon?"
"Yes," Haeun said gently. "It’s important that you go to a good school where you can make friends and learn new things."
"Can I bring my drawings?" Suho asked excitedly.
"Of course," Yeongsoo said, chuckling. Turning to Haeun, he added, "I’ll drop him off at the library’s reading group after breakfast so he can meet other kids while we figure out schools. That okay?"
Haeun nodded. "That’s perfect. Thank you."
"Do you want to drive there on your own or should I drop you off?"
Haeun nodded he would love to go on his own, Yeongsoo used to drive him everywhere he had forgotten he could drive himself.
"I can drive myself, you help me with a lot of stuff I forget I can do them by myself.."
"..."
"Well...that’s because pregnant omegas especially with your special case shouldn’t do any heavy work.."
