Chapter 182: Alucard, Kaido, Shiki
Two days later, the New World, Beasts Pirates’ base on Bannila Island.
No, it should now be called the former Beasts Pirates’ base.
The island was now a ruin, with the Golden Lion Pirate Fleet’s flag planted firmly within it. Alucard sat on the rubble, reading today’s newspaper.
"Beasts Pirates’ Main Base Bannila Island Ambushed by Golden Lion Shiki: War Concludes in 3 Hours. With Captain Kaido Absent, Golden Lion Shiki Achieves Overwhelming Victory."
"If Kaido sees this news, he’ll definitely rush over, won’t he?"
Alucard turned to the next page of the newspaper.
Just then, along a section of the city wall, several ropes wrapped around a protruding platform and extended downwards, suspending over a dozen pirates ten meters above the ground.
These individuals were all executive-level members of the Beasts Pirates stationed on Bannila. They were currently being tormented by the Golden Lion Pirate Fleet.
"Hahahaha! The Beasts Pirates’ executives are nothing special after all!"
Some of the Flying Pirate Fleet members were using pistols to play shooting games with the suspended pirates, deliberately missing to toy with them, or aiming for non-vital areas. Others used weapons like bows and arrows and javelins.
"St-stop! Stop it!"
"You bastards! Kaido-sama won’t let you get away with this!"
"If you’ve got the guts, just kill me directly!"
The dozen or so suspended individuals cursed incessantly, with occasional cries of pain, but no one begged for mercy. The Beasts Pirates’ executives certainly had some resolve and backbone.
"Is it really okay to do this?" A "poot, poot" sound accompanied Dr. Indigo as he walked over to Shiki, who was seated on another pile of rubble. He glanced sideways at the Beasts Pirates crew members being suspended and abused in the distance. "Won’t this just completely enrage Kaido?"
"Heh, that guy never listens anyway. This method is more direct." After speaking, Shiki shouted to Alucard, who was dozens of meters to his right. "Want to try putting your virus on humans? These test subjects are strong; they should last longer than those beasts..."
Whoosh!
Before Shiki could finish his sentence, Alucard suddenly closed the unfinished newspaper. He said matter-of-factly, "He’s here. Southeast coast of the island."
"Hmm?" Shiki was momentarily stunned. The ship’s helm was embedded in his head, damaging this most vital part of his body, causing his Observation Haki to decline sharply.
Hearing Alucard’s words, Shiki gradually floated into the sky, moving southeast. He quickly spotted a colossal shadow rapidly approaching across the sea, moving even faster than a shark-whale!
If it wasn’t an animal, it could only be his target—Kaido of the Beasts!
"Jihahahaha! First, a present for that kid! Take this!" Shiki unleashed his ability with full force.
Lion’s Threat: Ground Scroll!
Rumble!
The crumbling bricks beneath their feet instantly rose, including the city wall. The Beasts Pirates executives tied to the wall were naturally not spared; they were swept up and became part of the giant lion head floating in mid-air.
"Boss is going all out! Back to the ship! Back to the ship!"
"Can’t you warn us next time before you do something?"
"Stop with the damn nonsense! Get on the ship! Get on the ship!"
The Golden Lion Pirate Fleet members on the ground were startled and quickly began evacuating to their ships.
The storm unleashed by Shiki’s power made Alucard’s hair flutter wildly in the wind, but Alucard’s expression remained unchanged. He continued to sense with his Thermal Vision, and a few seconds later, he said calmly, "Swam over alone? You’re a bit too impatient, mad dog."
Kaido’s massive body had just landed, shaking the ground. A colossal lion head, dozens of times his size, instantly swallowed his body.
The next second, the lion head began to contort and twist, like a pretzel, seemingly intent on completely pulverizing whatever was inside!
The Beasts Pirates executives inside were certainly reduced to nothing but blood and flesh.
A dozen seconds later, Shiki slowly floated in front of the "pretzel" tower, exhaling a puff of smoke. "What’s wrong? There’s no way he died just like that, is there?"
Shiki’s attack was definitely enough to instantly kill anyone below the Vice Admiral level, unless he deliberately held back, no one could possibly survive.
Suddenly, a gigantic hand emerged from the earth, followed by two long, horn-like protrusions.
"...That really hurt!" Kaido, having already struggled out half his body, roared, "That really f***ing hurt!"
"So noisy, hurry up and get on with it..." Alucard had already appeared about two thousand meters away from the two, hearing Kaido’s roar, he said impatiently.
Kaido spread his arms wide. "Golden Lion!! Perfect!!"
With those three simple words, roared out, no unnecessary chatter needed. Kaido’s mountain-splitting punch had already come crashing down.
It was Kaido’s regret that he hadn’t fought the Pirate King Roger. Encountering the Golden Lion, who was as renowned as the Pirate King, how could he miss this opportunity?
As for his subordinates, if they were hit, it only showed their incompetence. Dying on the battlefield was a just end!
"No nonsense or questions? You’re certainly to my liking, kid!" Shiki laughed maniacally, kicking out countless times in an instant, also unleashing dozens of golden sword slashes.
Lion’s Threat: Shredding Valley!
Even though he no longer wielded two swords at his peak, the Shiki currently before them, barely past fifty, was definitely not the coward who would be defeated by the Straw Hat Pirates twenty years later.
He at least retained 70% of the strength he had during his battle with Roger at the Battle of Edd War. One could only say his luck was bad, taking fatal blows to both his head and leg. It was precisely for this reason that Alucard chose him.
Countless golden sword slashes, each with the power to cleave the sea and cut through the sky, not to mention dozens of them rushing forward at once.
"Is Shiki trying to seriously injure Kaido? I said, the injuries can’t be too severe." Alucard took out his two guns from his embrace, ready to intervene at any moment.
"You bastard!!" Kaido cursed, leaping forward, ignoring the sword attacks, and met them with his fists.
