Chapter 93: Ciel.

Chapter 93: Ciel.

’Eh, seriously? I get all these?’

Dorian chuckled for a while as he gawked at the system.

Even without the dragon, if this was the power he now had, then for sure he was probably going to be up there amongst the strongest in the kingdom.

On paper, he was still a Novice Rank since the Character Upgrade skill couldn’t be used on him, but outside of that, beyond what any system could detect, he could control a dragon.

’Hold on? I doubt I can just control any dragon. There has to be some kind of requirement, no?’

As that thought crossed his mind, he moved his gaze away from the system and towards the dragon, who was slowly sitting upright on the ground.

They locked gazes with each other for a while.

The dragon had its pink hair falling over its face, so it was quite hard to see the type of expression it was making. Nevertheless, it remained quiet, not uttering a single word.

’It can still move? Damn, don’t tell me this dragon still wants to fight. They are so terrifying.’

"I admit defeat."

The dragon suddenly confessed.

"What?"

"I said I admit defeat. You won." The dragon looked to the ground, its eyes widened.

"It’s quite obvious you had the upper hand. Any more and I would have been dead. You are obviously no ordinary human if you are able to wield such terrifying power. I give up. You win."

Dorian had his hand on his crossed leg, a smug look on his face while pointing at the dragon. "I know, right? I had you begging for more punches, hahaha."

The dragon looked aggravated, but yet, there was nothing it could do.

Without uttering another word, it suddenly went to its knees right in front of Dorian, head bowed in submission.

"As a dragon, my pride is one of my biggest qualities. To rid me of that is to rid me of my lineage. Today, I came face-to-face with a man capable of stripping me of that pride. As such, I kneel, submitting myself to him and begging to be worthy enough to call him my master."

Dorian was quite surprised at how quickly the dragon folded. At most, he was expecting to somehow trick it into working for him, but this...

[The dragon, Child of Ragnor, has proposed a master-servant pact.]

[Do you wish to accept?]

This was initially what he wanted when he proposed the first pact. If this is truly what happens when one defeats a higher being, then surely it would benefit him more than the original pact would.

"Yes, you can," Dorian replied.

His fist suddenly lit up. Mana roared and poured from it, only to settle a moment later, leaving in its place a small crest tattooed on the back of his hand, bearing the symbol of a dragon.

[You have enslaved a dragon.]

[A new class has been unlocked.]

[The special class: Dragon Knight.]

Dorian was speechless. A special class was something only one out of a hundred people would ever get in a single lifetime. Ever since he defeated this dragon, he had been getting crazy rewards from the system.

[Would you like to offer your dragon a name?]

Still seated, Dorian stared at the dragon for a while. The little he knew was that it was somehow capable of taking different forms, be it male or female. The male form seemed to be used for combat, and the female otherwise.

Hmmm...

"Ciel," Dorian uttered out loud. "Yes, from this moment on, your name shall be known as Ciel."

The dragon’s eyes widened in shock, a bright light shining over its body. In less than a few seconds, its form had fully changed.

Its hair was red and vibrant, and its wings grew larger, covering a large distance even though they were folded. Her once-green eyes turned red as well, and her breasts and vagina appeared, different from the blank form she had before.

With her eyes still wide, she slowly raised her gaze to look at Dorian.

"You... have enough power to even gift a name to someone as powerful as me?" Her shock was evident from the expression on her face.

"Eh? Of course, though it’s taking a huge toll out of me, if I’m being honest," Dorian chuckled a bit. "But it’s to be expected, since you’re a dragon and all."

"I am speechless from your power. Truly, no one else is better fit to be my master. I fully submit myself." Ciel bowed her head even more.

’Isn’t she overreacting a little bit?’

The sudden, sharp sound of a crack reverberated through the air, a stark interruption to the silence that had permeated the domain. It was a small fissure, barely discernible at first glance.

Both Dorian and Ciel, who had been locked in an unspoken moment, simultaneously lifted their gazes, their eyes drawn upward as if by an unseen force. The sun, a fiery ball of angry light, glared down through the opening above them. Its rays, though initially fragmented, promised a searing clarity that had been long denied.

Then, with an agonizing slowness, the delicate structure of their surroundings began to yield further. The initial crack became a network of fractures, spreading like an intricate web across the once-unyielding surface.

Each new splintering sound echoed the inevitable, a death knell for the enclosed world they inhabited.

Finally, with a deafening roar that shook the very ground beneath their feet, everything came crashing down. The illusion shattered into countless fragments, revealing the raw, untamed reality that lay beyond.

Dust and debris rained down, a swirling vortex of fading magic and splintered matter, as the confines of their existence dissolved into nothingness, leaving them exposed to the vast, open expanse.

And with that, he could see them, Maria and Seraphina, sprinting towards his location as quickly as they could. The other workers who watched all had a joyful look on their faces, almost as though they already knew Dorian had defeated the dragon. The prideful look on Ishtar’s face further proved that.

Dorian grinned. ’This is the part where I bask in my glory, I guess.’

As he stood, he suddenly realized his body was giving up on him, and he immediately went crashing back to the ground.

’Ah fuck, of course I’d run out of mana now.’

Baam!

He collapsed.
