Chapter 115 Sharing a Bed

Su He lingered in the bathroom for a long time. In the end, she still put on the same nightgown and returned to the room, covering her chest as if to hide something.

Lu Yanbei was sitting on the bed, working.

He worked day and night.

Some matters had to be dealt with immediately. Otherwise, they would pile up, making things very troublesome later.

Seeing that Lu Yanbei hadn't noticed her, Su He breathed a small sigh of relief.

She quickly found a loose t-shirt and sweatpants from her suitcase and hurried into the bathroom. When she came out again, she was completely covered up.

Su He thought these small actions were discreet, but they all fell into Lu Yanbei's eyes.

He hooked the corners of his lips secretly, not exposing her.

Su He still couldn't bring herself to share the bed with him, so she found a jacket, intending to make do on the sofa outside for the night.

Lu Yanbei noticed her actions and cleared his throat, "Are you afraid I'll eat you?"

Su He's foot, which had already started to move, froze.

"If not, then come over." Seeing her hesitation, Lu Yanbei made the decision for her.

Su He hesitated for a long time before finally shuffling back.

The bed was big enough anyway!

At worst, she could sleep on the edge.

Su He kept cheering herself on.

She lifted a corner of the duvet and lay down. To avoid disturbing him, she deliberately turned her back to him and used her phone to distract herself.

"The bed is wide enough, there's no need to make yourself so uncomfortable," Lu Yanbei couldn't help but chuckle softly.

"I'm used to sleeping on the edge," Su He mumbled.

A hint of amusement flashed in Lu Yanbei's eyes, but he didn't say anything else.

Su He lay there scrolling on her phone for a while, her eyelids starting to droop. Soon, she fell asleep.

Lu Yanbei listened to her steady breathing, leaned over, and gently removed the phone from her hand, placing it on the cabinet beside the bed. He gazed at her peaceful sleeping face for a long time.

"Goodnight," he whispered softly in her ear.

Then, he leaned down and kissed her forehead.

Su He was fast asleep and didn't notice anything.

Lu Yanbei stared at her for a while longer before turning off the light and lying down.

Gradually, he too fell into a deep sleep.

Su He was well-behaved at first, lying quietly on the edge of the bed. However, as she slept, she started to toss and turn, rolling towards the middle of the bed.

Lu Yanbei was a light sleeper. As soon as Su He moved, he woke up.

Looking at Su He, who was sleeping close to him, Lu Yanbei's gaze involuntarily softened.

Su He rolled and rolled, eventually finding a comfortable position in Lu Yanbei's arms and sleeping soundly.

Such a familiar sleeping posture.

Lu Yanbei's lips curved upward in a good mood, and he wrapped his arm around her waist, tucking her in.

Su He woke up in the middle of the night, feeling hot.

She turned uncomfortably, as if next to a furnace, making her feel restless and feverish.

A warm breath brushed against her ear, and Su He jolted awake.

How did she end up in Lu Yanbei's arms?

Could it be that he had ill intentions after she fell asleep?

But looking at her current position, it seemed like she had moved closer to him herself?

Su He felt an inexplicable sense of guilt.

Sensing the weight on her waist, Su He looked down and saw Lu Yanbei's arm wrapped around her.

No wonder she felt so hot.

Su He looked back and saw that Lu Yanbei was sleeping soundly. So, she gently pinched his arm, trying to break free from his embrace.

"Meow, don't move," Lu Yanbei's deep, husky voice sounded from behind.

Su He's body stiffened, and she obediently snuggled back into his arms.

Lu Yanbei stretched out his arm and hugged her tighter.

Su He: ...

"I'm hot..." she tried to protest.

Lu Yanbei mumbled an agreement, pulled the duvet down a bit, and continued to hold her as he slept.

Su He was speechless.

He was taking advantage of her.

Her back was pressed tightly against his chest, and she could vaguely feel the firm lines of his muscles. Being so close, she felt like she could count his heartbeats. How could she sleep?

And the arm around her waist tightened slightly with every little movement, as if he was afraid she would escape.

Su He regretted it silently.

She should have insisted on sleeping on the sofa!

At least she wouldn't have been in such an awkward situation.

Su He silently counted sheep, trying to lull herself to sleep. However, after counting hundreds of them, she still had no sleepiness.

Lu Yanbei was also awake.

With the woman he loved in his arms, yet unable to do anything, he was also enduring torment. However, he was too greedy for this feeling of closeness to let go. Therefore, he pretended to be asleep, using it as an excuse to stubbornly hold onto her.

With their own thoughts, they maintained this intimate posture.

Later, Su He somehow drifted off into a daze.

Lu Yanbei, however, kept his eyes open until dawn.

The next morning, when Su He woke up, Lu Yanbei was no longer in bed.

She touched the spot beside her, which was still warm.

Su He stared blankly on the bed for a while before getting up to wash up. When she came out, the hotel had already delivered breakfast to the room.

Lu Yanbei, however, had not appeared.

Just as Su He was wondering, Lu Yanbei's call came through.

"I had an urgent matter and went to the company. Have you eaten breakfast, and are you planning to go out?" Lu Yanbei's voice came from the other end of the phone.

Su He hummed in response. "I'm going out for sketching today."

"Have Secretary Zhao accompany you. If you need anything, tell her to do it for you. Don't overwork yourself," Lu Yanbei instructed solicitously.

"I know," Su He replied obediently.

Lu Yanbei seemed to be very busy, and he hung up after a few words.

Su He leisurely ate her breakfast, spent some more time preparing her art supplies, and then contacted Secretary Zhao.

The place she was going to sketch was a lake quite far from the city, about an hour's drive.

Secretary Zhao, assigned by her superior to take care of Su He, was actually quite reluctant.

As the general manager's secretary, being treated like a maid felt like a waste of her talents.

Fortunately, Miss Su was quite pleasant and didn't boss her around. Otherwise, she would have really reported to her superior to have someone else assigned to her service.

Upon arriving at the destination, Su He chose a spot with a good view and set up her easel, ready to paint.

This was a famous scenic spot in the area. Since it was the off-season for tourism, there weren't many tourists.

Su He could paint here without being disturbed, enjoying the quiet.

When she painted, she became exceptionally focused.

Secretary Zhao initially thought she was just going through the motions. But before she knew it, she was captivated by the scenery on Su He's canvas.

Su He's painting skills were excellent. In a short while, the beautiful scenery before them came to life on the paper.

"Miss Su, your painting is truly wonderful!" Secretary Zhao couldn't help but exclaim.

Su He said thank you. "It's the beautiful scenery here that inspired my creativity."

"Miss Su, did you study fine arts?" Secretary Zhao asked curiously.

Su He nodded. "I haven't painted in a long time, so I'm a bit rusty."

"This level of painting can rival our art academy's professors," a clear, loud voice suddenly came from behind.

It was a few young students carrying backpacks. The one who spoke was a tall young man in a white tracksuit. He seemed very interested in Su He's artwork.

"Are you also a student at the art academy?" the young man asked, stepping forward.

Su He shook her head. "I graduated many years ago."

"But you look about our age," the young man, with a cheerful personality, smiled radiantly.

Su He smiled and pursed her lips.

She hadn't encountered such a way of striking up a conversation in a very long time.
