Su He was momentarily stunned by Laura's exclamation.
Judging by her expression, it seemed as though she recognized her.
Su He looked at the tall, blonde, blue-eyed beauty before her, unsure how to react.
Lu Yanbei’s reaction to hearing the surname "Su" was far more pronounced than Su He's. He tightened his grip on Su He's hand, as if trying to suppress something with all his might.
Seeing Su He’s bewilderment, Laura shifted her gaze to Lu Yanbei. "Yan, so you two ended up together after all. You didn’t lie to me last time! You really married your first love!"
Hearing the words "first love" again sent a buzzing sensation through Su He's mind.
Could it be that she had misunderstood Lu Yanbei before, and he hadn't treated her as a replacement? Had they known each other much earlier? Considering Laura's nationality, a thought suddenly flashed through Su He's mind.
Classmate, abroad, first love.
Su He wasn’t entirely unintelligent and quickly connected these keywords.
Was it possible that she and Lu Yanbei met during her two years abroad? And, had they even been lovers? Otherwise, Laura, as Lu Yanbei's classmate, wouldn't have reacted this way.
Also, the period of her forgotten past was connected to Lu Yanbei.
Su He turned around dazedly and looked at the man beside her. It seemed as though all the doubts could now be explained.
"When did we first meet?" Su He murmured.
Lu Yanbei pondered for a moment and then said to Laura, "You know now. From now on, besides cooperation, I hope we can maintain a normal classmate relationship."
Laura opened her mouth and eventually left in a huff.
If it were someone else, she might have fought for it. But with Lu Yanbei's wife being Su, she stood no chance. She couldn't compete with her before, and it was even less likely now.
Laura was a proud woman; even when giving up, she held her head high, maintaining an elegant demeanor. Thus, she generously stayed to attend the annual meeting, even chose someone she found somewhat agreeable to dance with, and only bought a plane ticket home after the event concluded.
This kind of composure was infinitely better than those who harbored resentment from unrequited love and acted irrationally.
Once the lounge fell quiet, the two continued their previous conversation.
"You haven't answered me yet," Su He said, looking at Lu Yanbei.
He sighed softly, took off his suit jacket, and draped it over her shoulders. "Do you want to hear the truth?"
Su He nodded.
"Can this question wait until after the new year when we go to Princeton?" he asked, lowering his head slightly to meet her gaze.
Su He immediately pinpointed the crux of the matter from his words. "So, we met there..."
Lu Yanbei cupped her hands in his palms and gently caressed them. "I've been waiting for you to remember. But it's okay if you don't. Fate has brought us back together. I will cherish that memory, but I cherish the present even more."
Listening to his heartfelt confession, Su He's restless heart began to settle.
She clasped his hand back and said softly, "I'll try my best to remember."
"Don't force yourself," Lu Yanbei leaned in and embraced her. "While I hope you recall our past, the premise is that your health can withstand it."
Every time he remembered how distressed she was during her headaches, Lu Yanbei's heart felt as though it were being sliced by a knife.
"Since the surgery, my headaches have recurred very rarely. And, fragmented images sometimes flash through my mind..." Su He whispered her feelings, leaning in his embrace. "Although I haven't recalled everything, some things feel strangely familiar. It feels like something is slowly awakening..."
As Su He spoke, she touched her forehead.
"Is your head hurting again?" Lu Yanbei asked, his face filled with concern.
Su He shook her head, grabbed his collar, and looked up at him.
So, they had crossed paths so early on.
So, they had truly shared a very intimate relationship before.
This realization made her feel a little thrilled.
To be loved by such an outstanding man always felt like winning the lottery.
Su He unconsciously snuggled closer into his embrace.
Such initiative even surprised Lu Yanbei.
"Ah Miao..." he passionately kissed her earlobe.
Su He trembled subtly from the sensation but did not push him away.
Taking advantage of the moment, Lu Yanbei progressively kissed her cheek, the corners of her mouth, her eyes, her nose, and finally, her lips.
"Mr. Lu, it's almost time, the dance is about to begin...!" Cheng Jue rushed in, pushing the door open and was startled to see such an intimate scene, immediately falling silent.
Lu Yanbei calmly held his beloved wife close. "Understood."
Cheng Jue gave a dry chuckle and quickly retreated.
His boss's gaze felt as though it could kill him!
Thinking of this, Cheng Jue involuntarily shivered.

Lu's annual meeting was held with great fanfare.
As the company's leader, Lu Yanbei was naturally the center of attention.
After delivering a brief speech on stage, he officially announced the commencement of the dance. The moment the music started, people parted, leaving an open space.
Lu Yanbei, dressed in a black suit, exuded a tall and straight posture.
He walked steadily to Su He's side, offered a gentlemanly invitation, and led Su He to the center of the dance floor.
Su He's cheeks were slightly flushed as she placed her hands on his shoulders.
Unlike her usual reticence, her gaze was firm, and she ignored the hushed whispers around them. Her eyes were entirely focused on the handsome man before her, with no room for anything else.
Lu Yanbei, having received an elite education since childhood, was naturally adept at ballroom dancing. Surprisingly, Su He's dancing skills were also quite good; she didn't hold Lu Yanbei back.
"I didn't expect Mrs. Lu to be such a good dancer."
"Did she learn it recently?"
"Impossible! Based on my years of dance experience, this isn't something that can be achieved overnight."
"So, Mrs. Lu is quite the hidden talent!"
"The rumors from before must have been false. Who truly interacted with her? Perhaps she genuinely possesses extraordinary abilities."
Su He's performance far exceeded everyone's expectations, immediately becoming a hot topic of discussion.
Lu Jingyang, standing among the crowd, suddenly felt a sense of daze as he looked at the man under the spotlight, exuding such beauty.
This confident and radiant Su He was someone he had never seen before.
The young man beside him nudged his arm. "Don't you think she's very different from before? I didn't expect her to be so good at hiding her talents!"
Lu Jingyang pursed his lips, looking rather embarrassed.
"So, do you regret the divorce?" the man chuckled. "She's much more reliable than your ex-girlfriend!"
Lu Jingyang glared at him irritably. "That's my personal business. What does it have to do with you?"
"It has nothing to do with me," the other man smirked. "However, many people are talking behind your back, saying you mistook a pearl for a pebble and missed out on a good woman!"
Lu Jingyang let out a cold snort, his fists unconsciously clenching.
