Chapter 185 Like Minds Think Alike

"If it weren't for Grandpa's feelings, I wouldn't even want to have a wedding," Su He said. She had attended friends' weddings and knew how exhausting the process could be.

Besides, destination weddings were all the rage now; they were both cost-effective and liberating.

"Grandpa wants to make a grand affair of it," Lu Yanbei said, preparing her mentally. "He's been a bit upset since the last wedding was canceled without cause, and he wants to use a spectacular wedding to introduce his granddaughter-in-law to the world."

"Of course, if you don't like it, I can discuss it with Grandpa," Lu Yanbei added. His devotion to his wife knew no bounds; he would give up everything for her.

Su He remained silent for a long time before saying, "Let's ask Grandpa first."

She didn't want to disappoint the old man.

"Don't force yourself," Lu Yanbei said, kissing her forehead. "I've got this!"

It was just a wedding, after all. It would only be exhausting for a day or two, and she could handle it.

Su He quickly adjusted her mindset. "Marriage is a big event, and it only happens once in a lifetime. We can't be too casual about it. How about we proceed with the original scale?"

"We were too hasty last time, and many things were overlooked," Lu Yanbei's intention was to make it grand, something she would remember forever.

"When can we find time to take wedding photos?"

Su He rubbed her forehead. "Right, I forgot about that!"

So, after waking up, the couple spontaneously decided to take their wedding photos.

The photography studio immediately sprang into action upon receiving the news.

Sister Ding, the boss, called her secretary over and instructed, "Cancel all appointments for today. Everyone on standby."

"Boss, what happened? Why are things so serious?" the secretary asked, puzzled.

"Listen carefully! A VIP is arriving shortly, so everyone needs to be on their best behavior!" Sister Ding said as she hurried out, reapplying her makeup in a mirror.

If her calculations were correct, the VIP would arrive in about ten minutes.

When Su He and Lu Yanbei arrived at the studio, Sister Ding greeted them personally, her enthusiasm almost making Su He feel intimidated. Fortunately, after some pleasantries, she was called away by a phone call.

Since they had been there before and had pre-selected the wedding dresses, the photoshoot went very smoothly.

Su He chose five wedding dresses in total, each one exceptionally beautiful. Of course, they were also incredibly expensive. One was encrusted with diamonds, another had a skirt so wide it could fill the entire room. There was a dreamy Klein blue gown, and a feathered, voluminous skirt design. The one that most captivated Su He was the white dress with a large bow, both cute and alluring.

The five wedding dresses took a full day to photograph. They were so busy that they didn't even have time for a proper meal, only managing to eat a few biscuits. By the time they finished, it was dark, and Su He's stomach was rumbling.

Su He changed back into her clothes and emerged, clinging to Lu Yanbei's chest, unwilling to move. "Husband, hug me~"

Lu Yanbei, ever obliging, picked her up in front of all the staff.

"Why don't you look tired at all?" Su He murmured into his chest.

Her back ached so much she could barely stand!

Her legs felt like they were filled with lead, too heavy to move.

Lu Yanbei thoughtfully said, "I'll give you a massage when we get back."

Su He hummed in agreement, and then her stomach rumbled again, inappropriately.

Lu Yanbei paused for a moment before instructing the driver to head to a nearby restaurant.

Su He touched her stomach sheepishly. "I didn't eat much, afraid I wouldn't fit into the wedding dress."

After all, what girl didn't care about looking beautiful? It would have been a disaster if she ate too much and couldn't fit!

"You're not allowed to do that again," Lu Yanbei said, gently tapping her forehead.

"Got it," Su He replied obediently, knowing she was in the wrong.

The next day, the couple visited Grandpa Lu as usual.

Before dinner, Lu Yanbei discussed the wedding with his grandfather, who visibly relaxed. "You guys never mentioned it, I thought you weren't going through with it."

"There won't be any more surprises this time, right?" the old man asked, his joy tinged with worry.

"No," Lu Yanbei stated confidently.

"That's good!" The grandfather was much more at ease with his assurance. "Last time, many people made a spectacle of it. Don't you young people go for that 'destination wedding' nonsense, I won't allow it! This time, it must be grand and lively, to properly compensate Su girl and ensure she never suffers injustice again!"

Lu Yanbei nodded in agreement.

Then, they began to discuss the details.

"Last time, we only invited close friends and family. This time, we'll add fifty more tables."

"We need to change the wedding venue too. I'm afraid it won't accommodate so many people."

"Do you want to add any segments to the wedding ceremony?"

"Oh, and for the bride's side, we need to prepare more return gifts..."

The grandfather, wearing his reading glasses, jotted everything down on paper, afraid of missing anything.

As he wrote, he suddenly remembered that Su He had severed ties with Su Chenghai's family. So, for the tea ceremony, would her adoptive parents need to be on stage?

Lu Yanbei saw his grandfather's concern and stepped in. "I'll handle the matter with her parents."

"Good!" Seeing his confidence, the grandfather didn't press further.

Lu Yanbei and Su He were both quite busy, so the responsibility of preparing for the wedding fell to their respective parents.

Grandfather Lu took some time to invite Su He's maternal family for dinner to discuss the wedding arrangements. He was taken aback when he saw the elegantly dressed individuals present.

He had been told that the Su family's financial situation was ordinary. Yet, the people before him, both in their attire and demeanor, far exceeded his expectations.

"Allow me to introduce them," Tang Jiaojiao said, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear, and smiling as she stepped forward. "This is our old Su, and beside him are Su Chen, Su Ying, and Su Lin."

"Mr. Su, where do you work?" Grandfather Lu asked, glancing at the young man named Su Chen, who seemed familiar.

"I run a small business myself," Su Chen replied, bowing slightly.

The butler whispered nearby, "He is the CEO of Yi Teng Technology, Mr. Su."

The grandfather exclaimed, "Ah! No wonder he looks familiar! So, you're the rising tech star of the past two years! I've heard so much about you!"

"You're too kind," Su Chen said humbly.

Su Ying, adept at social graces, preempted the grandfather's questions and greeted him. "I am Su He's elder sister, a fashion designer."

Su Ying was frequently featured in magazines, so Grandfather Lu was no stranger to her. "You are an accomplished young lady! So young, yet already renowned at home and abroad. Your future is boundless!"

"You flatter me, sir!"

As for Su Lin, the grandfather recognized him without needing an introduction. Su Lin, the superstar, had his posters everywhere. Moreover, the grandfather had paid particular attention to him recently due to his role in Su He's drama.

These outstanding young people were all from the Su family!

The grandfather couldn't help but marvel at the discerning taste of Su Dazhi and his wife! The children they casually took in were all exceptional individuals! It truly proved the saying: "Those not of the same family do not enter the same door!"

What was Su Chenghai compared to them? These were Su girl's true family!
