Chapter 271 The Way Couples Get Along

"I'm going to be an uncle?" Su Lin found the news hard to believe.

He pictured a cuddly little dumpling standing before him, holding his leg and calling him 'Uncle' in a baby voice. That chubby little face, upturned, would be just like Su He's, a mirror of her younger self.

The thought was amusing!

Su Lin and Su He were closest in age, they had spent the most time together growing up, and their bond was deeper than with anyone else. Even before his nephew was born, he was already looking forward to it.

Once the little one was older, he'd teach him to play the guitar, sing, and perhaps even collaborate on stage in the future... Su Lin was already envisioning things a decade from now.

"Yes," Su He replied cheerfully. "Hearing this news, don't you have anything to say?"

Su Lin snapped back to reality, tutting. "Demanding gifts through your unborn child, you've got quite the repertoire!"

"I'm using the unborn child to command the lords! What, you have a problem with that?"

"No!" Su Lin decided not to bicker with her further, fearing it might affect the prenatal education. "Go on, what do you want?"

"The baby is growing, and I want to play some music for him. I remember you have quite a few records, why not give me a few?" Su He didn't stand on ceremony, getting straight to the point.

Su Lin licked his lips.

Su He was really asking for the moon!

She knew how much he cherished those records, yet she insisted he part with them! Those were items that were priceless and virtually unobtainable on the market!

Su Lin doted on those records, he wouldn't even let anyone touch them usually!

And now, Su He wanted several of them!

Not just one, but several, that was far too greedy!

Seeing his prolonged silence, Su He scoffed. "I knew you were stingy!"

Su Lin's face immediately darkened. "I didn't say no!"

"Oh, then thank you in advance, Little Uncle!" Su He chirped, seemingly unconcerned about his anger.

Su Lin felt utterly helpless.

In the end, he grudgingly picked out a few records suitable for children, packed them in a box, and said, "It's a loan! Remember to return them to me later! And don't damage them!"

"Got it!" Su He, having achieved her goal, smiled and hung up the phone.

Su Lin had wanted to add a few more instructions, but the call had already been cut off.

Su Lin: ...

She had burned the bridge so quickly!

Had Su He forgotten that the records were still in his possession?

Despite his displeasure, Su Lin dutifully drove over to deliver the packed box to Su He himself. Seeing Su He lounging in a chair, soaking up the sun, with Lu Yanbei feeding her fruit, Su Lin was stunned.

Was this the same domineering CEO he knew?

He was spoiling his wife to no end!

"Young Master Su is here! The young madam is sunbathing in the courtyard. Shall I take you there?" Sister Li, seeing him frozen at the doorway, smiled and stepped forward to take the box from him.

Su Lin finally came to his senses and nodded politely. "No need, thank you."

Lu Yanbei, hearing the commotion at the door, turned his head and gave Su Lin a slight nod, his actions uninterrupted. He offered a seedless grape he had peeled to Su He's lips.

Su He obediently opened her mouth, taking the grape, not finding anything unusual about it.

It was as if all of this was perfectly natural.

Lu Yanbei took a moment to invite Su Lin to sit in a nearby chair. "Sorry to trouble you to come over."

"It's no trouble," Su Lin replied quickly. Then, he couldn't resist teasing Su He again. "Sister, do you not have hands? You need someone to feed you grapes!"

"This is a married couple's intimacy! If you don't understand, shut up!" Su He shot him a glare.

Well, her temper had certainly grown!

Su Lin grumbled inwardly.

"Brother-in-law, don't spoil her too much, she'll really take advantage," Su Lin advised earnestly.

Lu Yanbei smiled and retorted, "Aren't wives meant to be pampered?"

Su Lin was momentarily speechless, choked by his words.

Today, he finally understood what it meant for Zhou Yu to hit Huang Gai – one willing to strike, the other willing to be beaten!

Su He was truly fortunate to have met such a good man as Lu Yanbei!

Su He triumphantly raised an eyebrow at him, looking particularly smug.

Su Lin turned his head away, speechless, and began to make small talk with Lu Yanbei.

Lu Yanbei answered his questions while continuing to peel grapes for Su He.

"I don't want grapes anymore, I want an orange," Su He, channeling her inner diva, changed her mind on the spot.

Lu Yanbei, not finding it troublesome, ate the peeled grapes himself and then picked up an orange to peel.

Su Lin could hardly bear to watch.

"Sister, know when to stop, don't go too far!" While Lu Yanbei was in the restroom, Su Lin couldn't help but advise her. "A man's patience is limited. If you keep this up, your brother-in-law will eventually get annoyed."

He had seen many couples where, during the honeymoon phase, their partner's every word was right and gladly obeyed. But as time went by, they would grow tired of it. Then, those so-called intimacies would become reasons for criticism.

Women shouldn't be too dramatic, it would make them disliked!

After all, there weren't many simple and honest men like Su Dazhi in the world, who could tolerate everything!

Su He wiped her hands with a tissue, feeling he was overthinking it. The relationship between her and Lu Yanbei wasn't as fragile as he imagined. They had gone through so much hardship to be together, and they both cherished this relationship dearly. He tried his best to treat her well, and she would do the same for him.

If she didn't let Lu Yanbei take care of her, it would actually make him unhappy.

So, it wasn't that she was being too dramatic, but rather to give him a sense of security. Lu Yanbei was born with a silver spoon in his mouth; he could get anything he wanted with a word.

A proud man like him also had ordinary human needs, the need to be loved and to be needed. These were things that money couldn't replace.

Su He's occasional "drama" perfectly met those needs Lu Yanbei craved, so why not?

When it's mutually agreed upon, it's not excessive.

"A little kid who's never been in love is lecturing me now?" Su He narrowed her eyes and grabbed his ear.

Su Lin hadn't expected that move and yelped in pain. "Sister, let go!"

Lu Yanbei emerged from the restroom to witness such a "harmonious and loving" scene.

Hmm, their sibling bond was truly strong!

"Brother-in-law, how do you put up with her?" After Su He went for her nap, Su Lin finally couldn't help but ask the question.

"Your sister is wonderful," Lu Yanbei replied calmly. "The fact that she shows her true self to me means she trusts me. In a marriage, there's nothing more precious than mutual trust and understanding."

Su Lin fell silent.

Perhaps this was the art of marital relations?

But if he had a woman like that by his side, he doubted he could tolerate her endless "drama."
