Chapter 170: Chapter 170 Young Master Tang Takes Action Himself
Rich people are also the most afraid of getting robbed or kidnapped.
How stupid are these three?
As Gu Yan was mocking them in her heart, the three of them were already preparing to grab her.
How could Gu Yan just stand there and let them catch her? She quickly darted through a gap between them, making them miss and bump into each other.
The three of them yelped in pain and started cursing at each other.
One of them, who still had some sense, smacked the others on the head, "Catch her!"
The other two realized and the three of them lunged at Gu Yan again.
Gu Yan wanted to dodge, but suddenly a sharp pain shot through her foot. She frowned as the wound began to ache at this moment.
Her footsteps were a bit unsteady, and the three quickly cornered her. One of them forcibly grabbed her arm, rendering her unable to break free.
At this point, Gu Yan finally started to feel a bit anxious.
With her hand injured and her foot also hurt, even if she fought with all her strength, it would be self-torment, and she certainly couldn’t run fast.
Gu Yan really wished a car or someone would show up right now!
Damn Tang Yuxiu, kicking her out at this time, making her so unlucky to run into these three hooligans.
Gu Yan forcefully tried to break free from the hand gripping her, her eyes cold. "I’ve remembered your faces. If you dare do anything to me, I will call the police immediately."
The three of them were just ordinary hooligans, in other words, three idle youth with little guts. Hearing her say she’d call the police made them panic.
Seizing the opportunity, Gu Yan broke free from the grasping hand and started running towards the apartment.
Her run was unsteady, limping.
Suddenly, a car drove by in front, its lights shining on Gu Yan’s face. She was startled, shielding her eyes with her hand, completely forgetting to step aside.
Tang Yuxiu, coming around the downhill bend, saw a figure running from ahead. He immediately hit the brakes, lifting his eyes to see who it was.
He was already full of rage, and after this encounter, he quickly unbuckled his seatbelt, got out of the car, and went up to Gu Yan to give her a scolding, "Are you trying to get yourself killed! Damn it, just a bit more and you’d be hit!"
Gu Yan stepped back two paces under his shout, but she wasn’t in the mood to be mad at him now. Glancing at the three hooligans still there, she quickly grabbed Tang Yuxiu’s arm and ducked behind him, peeking out her head.
Tang Yuxiu was slightly stunned, what’s going on now?
Following her gaze, he saw the three hooligans becoming more alarmed as someone had arrived. With Tang Yuxiu’s imposing demeanor, they nervously swallowed, turned, and ran off.
Gu Yan watched them run all the way down the road, without stopping, until they were out of sight.
Gu Yan blinked, stepped out from behind Tang Yuxiu, and sighed in relief.
"Did you bump into some thugs?" Tang Yuxiu asked grumpily, with a hint of barely discernible concern.
Gu Yan snorted coldly, folded her arms, and turned away, "What does it matter to you?"
Tang Yuxiu frowned, "Who told you to run out!"
Hearing this, Gu Yan rolled her eyes at him, sarcastically saying, "Oh, wasn’t it Mr. Tang who told me to get out? What, wasn’t rolling out satisfying enough for you?"
"When the hell did I tell you to get out, I meant get out of the kitchen!" Tang Yuxiu bellowed, realizing the woman misunderstood, thinking he wanted to kick her out.
Hmph, didn’t she want to leave so badly? Isn’t this exactly what she wanted?
Hmm? Gu Yan was slightly surprised, did she get it wrong?
Embarrassing.
Gu Yan still wouldn’t look at him, "So what, I’ve already come out, there’s no reason to go back now." That would be too disgraceful, too spineless.
Tang Yuxiu’s eyes were deep, his voice icy, "Gu Yan, you’ve always wanted to leave, does this suit you now? But I’ll tell you, before you fulfill your obligations, you’ll never have the chance to leave!"
Gu Yan’s face turned slightly pale, then she smiled self-mockingly, staring at him with eyes void of warmth, "Young Master Tang, I’m well aware of that, you don’t need to remind me constantly. What, do you want to try now? Fine, what wasn’t done yesterday morning, can be finished tonight."
Tang Yuxiu’s hand clenched tightly at his side, veins bulging, "Gu Yan, must you speak so hurtfully!"
"Aren’t I just speaking your mind for you? When it comes to hurtful words, no one beats Young Master Tang."
Gu Yan’s heart ached slightly, even though she wanted to speak nicely, as soon as she opened her mouth, it always ended up unpleasant.
"Forget it, since you don’t want to, can you please take me to the supermarket? I haven’t eaten and want to buy a rice cooker to cook myself a meal."
Not wanting to dwell on such a topic, Tang Yuxiu followed her lead in changing it.
"I’ll take you out to eat."
"No need, I don’t want to eat out." The last few times she went out to eat with him, they always ran into people. If she ran into Nie Rong today, it would ruin her whole evening.
Tang Yuxiu pursed his lips, not saying a word.
Gu Yan sighed in relief, "If you don’t want to, just go back by yourself, leave me some money, I’ll go buy it myself, I came out in a hurry and didn’t bring anything."
Her tone was indifferent, devoid of emotion, as if she didn’t care about anything.
Tang Yuxiu just felt a wave of discomfort in his heart, shutting his eyes, he said, "Get in the car."
Since he was going to take her personally, Gu Yan wouldn’t throw a tantrum anymore. After all, who knows what she’d run into if she went out alone again, and having a free driver to pick and drop her off, what’s not to like.
All the way to the supermarket, Gu Yan gazed at the scenery flashing by outside the window, feeling the cool breeze, and neither of them spoke.
It wasn’t until they stopped at the supermarket entrance that Gu Yan spoke up to ask him for money.
Tang Yuxiu never carried cash, so he simply tossed his wallet to her.
Gu Yan took it and got out of the car without a word. This time, Tang Yuxiu waited in the car for her.
Looking out the window, she walked with a slight limp in her right foot, likely because it was cut by a shard of glass earlier.
Gu Yan quickly picked out a rice cooker and carried it out. Tang Yuxiu resisted the urge to get out and help her, turning his head away as she approached.
With both hands holding the rice cooker, Gu Yan had no extra hand to open the door. She bent over and knocked on the car window, gesturing for him to help open it.
Tang Yuxiu casually opened the car door and sat back, resting his hands on the steering wheel and looking straight ahead.
Gu Yan placed the rice cooker in the back seat before sitting down.
The ride back was just as silent.
When changing shoes, Gu Yan put the rice cooker down carefully and took off her shoes. Her right heel had a large bloodstain, and the shoe was soaked, the bleeding more than expected.
Tang Yuxiu glanced over, then retrieved a medical kit from the living room, placing it somewhat roughly beside her, before turning back to the living room to watch financial news on TV.
Gu Yan silently opened the medical kit, treated her foot, cleaned the bloodstains, and applied a couple of band-aids as the wound was neither deep nor large.
After tidying up the entrance, Gu Yan carried the rice cooker to the kitchen, swept the broken pieces off the floor, cleaned the rice cooker, cooked the rice, and continued to wash the dishes in the sink.
As she prepared to stir-fry the vegetables, she remembered Tang Yuxiu had come back relatively early, which likely meant he hadn’t eaten, so she made an extra portion for him.
Tang Yuxiu listened to the sounds of cooking in the kitchen, along with a faint aroma wafting out, giving him a sense of inexplicable comfort.
This villa, cold and quiet for over ten years, finally had a hint of life.
Many times, without realizing it, you suddenly understand something.
Just like now, Tang Yuxiu seemed to have a clear understanding of some things that he couldn’t see through before.
An hour later, Gu Yan brought out the stir-fried dishes, glanced at Tang Yuxiu sitting upright in the living room, and still called out, "If you haven’t eaten, come have some."
Tang Yuxiu heard her and felt somewhat satisfied. She still remembered to call him for dinner.
Young Master Tang sat with composure for a while before formally standing up, straightening his suit, and walking to the dining table.
Gu Yan had already served her own meal and started eating. Tang Yuxiu looked over his side and found there wasn’t even a bowl.
He frowned slightly, "Where’s mine?"
Gu Yan picked up a piece of vegetable and said blandly, "Fix it yourself in the kitchen."
"Serve my meal and bring it over."
Gu Yan didn’t even glance at him, continuing to eat, "Eat if you want."
Young Master Tang felt extremely repressed.
Never in his life had he not been served by others, when had he ever done anything himself?
And now this woman was treating him with such an attitude!
Keeping in mind the currently bad atmosphere and strained relationship between them, Tang Yuxiu held it in with effort.
For the first time in his life, Young Master Tang picked up a bowl and served himself, his heart trembling. He’d remember this woman Gu Yan for the rest of his life!
Having not tasted Gu Yan’s cooking in days, Young Master Tang found himself surprisingly nostalgic!
He even darkly wondered if Gu Yan had put something in the food, clearly looking quite ordinary, her cooking was not all that delicious compared to the chefs at his fancy restaurants, yet why did he always want another bite after one?
What a mystery.
Seeing the carrots he disliked, Tang Yuxiu frowned, "Pick out the carrots for me."
Gu Yan continued eating in silence, as if she hadn’t heard him.
Young Master Tang repeated, "I said, pick out the carrots! Are your ears not working, can’t you hear me?"
Gu Yan blandly lifted her eyes to glance at him and replied, "I heard."
Young Master Tang felt a bit more satisfied, but after Gu Yan answered, she didn’t move at all, just continued eating her own meal.
"Why aren’t you picking them out, didn’t you hear me?"
"I did hear, but I didn’t say I would pick them out. The food’s right here, take it or leave it. If you don’t like it, pick it out yourself."
Gu Yan quickly finished her last few bites of rice, put down her chopsticks, drank a glass of water, and left the dining room, not caring about Young Master Tang anymore.
Tang Yuxiu watched her back, gritting his teeth, damn you, Gu Yan!
He had nowhere to vent his anger and could only furiously pick out the carrots himself.
Gu Yan sat on the sofa, switching channels on the remote languidly, occasionally glancing at Tang Yuxiu in the dining room.
Seeing his side profile gloomy, as if someone owed him millions.
Gu Yan let out a silent humph.
