Chapter 118: Chapter 118: A Chance Encounter with the Senior

Young Master Tang was imagining something wonderful when Gu Yan happened to come out of the supermarket.

Sure enough, she still bought so many things, and she looked like she was struggling.

Young Master Tang was just about to start the car to execute the plan he had imagined when someone beat him to it.

Gu Yan carried the many heavy items out of the supermarket. The afternoon sun wasn’t as intense, yet she was still covered in sweat.

As she reached the roadside, she put the items down to catch her breath. At this moment, she really missed the times when Tang Yuxiu was around, as she could just toss things into the car and head back effortlessly.

It was only now she regretted not thinking of shopping earlier and having chased Tang Yuxiu away. This time, it was self-inflicted hardship.

Tang Yuxiu was indeed something; a grown man, and yet he just stormed off after she put on a slight act. Not cute at all.

As Gu Yan blamed herself and Tang Yuxiu in her heart, a gentle voice suddenly came from beside her.

"Gu Yan."

Hearing someone call her, she turned her head to look, and Qin Junnan was walking towards her.

Today, he wore a white shirt, with his blazer draped over his arm. In the not-too-bright sunlight, he seemed to be bathed in a soft glow, gentle yet dazzling.

"Senior?" Gu Yan was surprised. How could she run into him here?

Qin Junnan came over and glanced at the three full bags on the ground, "You bought so many things?"

"Yes. Senior, how come you’re here?" Gu Yan nodded in response and then asked.

"I passed by and saw you carrying things. It seemed quite strenuous, so I got out to see if you needed any help."

Gu Yan smiled bashfully, "There’s not much you can help with. I’ll take the bus over there later, so it’ll be easy. These things aren’t that heavy."

Qin Junnan looked across the street where quite a few people were waiting at the bus stop and said, "It’s rush hour now, the buses are crowded, and carrying so many things will be inconvenient. Let me give you a ride."

"But..." Gu Yan felt a bit awkward and embarrassed.

Qin Junnan’s face showed a hint of disappointment as he spoke, "Don’t refuse. As your senior, it’s only right to help you. Or do you think we aren’t friends?"

Gu Yan frowned slightly and shook her head, "It’s not that, I’m just afraid of troubling you too much."

Hearing her say so, Qin Junnan felt slightly better, and he smiled gently, "It won’t be any trouble, it’s just a small task."

Gu Yan considered for a moment and then finally nodded.

"Alright then, thank you, Senior."

Seeing Gu Yan nod, Qin Junnan’s smile deepened, "There’s no need to be polite."

As he spoke, he handed his blazer to Gu Yan, "Can you hold this for me?"

After Gu Yan took the blazer, he took the initiative to pick up the bags by her feet and said to her, "Let’s go, my car is just ahead."

"Alright." Gu Yan nodded and followed behind Qin Junnan.

Watching his upright back, she couldn’t help but feel emotional. He was still as outstanding as before, perhaps even more so in ways she couldn’t see or understand.

Yet for some reason, meeting him this time, facing him, didn’t bring the same excitement and nervousness as before.

It felt somewhat ordinary, like meeting a regular friend, and the interaction became quite natural.

Gu Yan was puzzled but also relieved.

No matter the family background, talent, or appearance, Qin Junnan was someone she could only admire from afar, and letting go was the best outcome for her.
