After washing a few more times, he added an adequate amount of water according to the online guidance, although the exact amount was unclear. But he thought it must require a lot of water to cook the hard rice into porridge.
Young Master Tang had a decent idea, more water was indeed needed, but he added a lot of rice and kept adding water until it flooded past the marked line before stopping.
He thought, that should be enough.
Then he set it up, covered it, and plugged it in.
