Chapter 687 Discussing School Matters

Liu Yifeng sighed, knowing he couldn't vent his anger at Yun Duo'er on innocent people.

"Daddy, what are you and Auntie talking about?" Tong Tong came over to Liu Yifeng, holding the building blocks he had assembled.

"Daddy was boasting to Auntie about Tong Tong's abilities, telling her what a little genius Tong Tong is." Seeing Tong Tong, his expression clearly changed.

Su Wanru also noticed this, so she genuinely felt at ease leaving Tong Tong in his care.

"Yes, Tong Tong, shall we continue playing? Auntie just found something more fun over there." This immediately captured the child's attention, and he pulled Su Wanru along, striding away.

Liu Yifeng followed helplessly. To outsiders, they looked like an enviable family of three, and even hidden cameras behind them captured this heartwarming scene.

Perhaps he was truly tired from playing, as Tong Tong fell asleep on the way back. Su Wanru, not wanting to tire Liu Yifeng, carried him the entire way.

Liu Yifeng asked several times, but she refused each time. It seemed she truly wanted to compensate for Yun Duo'er's absence.

"Dad, Mom, Tong Tong is back." Fortunately, Tong Tong woke up as they neared the Su family residence, his energy replenished and appearing lively.

Su's father and mother were very affectionate upon seeing Tong Tong. It was likely they had the same sentiment when they learned they had a grandchild.

"Oh, my precious grandson is here! Come, let Grandma see you. I've missed you so much." Su's mother happily embraced him, showering him with kisses and hugs, and brought out all the delicacies in the house for Tong Tong to eat.

Tong Tong also charmingly said words that pleased his grandparents.

Su's father's gaze toward Liu Yifeng was noticeably gentler than during their first meeting.

"Xiao Liu, thank you so much for letting us see Tong Tong." It was the familiar spot and chessboard, but the mood was entirely different from before.

Liu Yifeng merely smiled, saying nothing. His actions today had spoken volumes.

"Wanru told me. Your company has been very busy lately, and yet you've managed to take such good care of Tong Tong. You are already an excellent father." Su's father's praise, so ungrudging this time, made Liu Yifeng feel a bit unaccustomed.

"Uncle, you are too kind. I've only done what I should. And since Tong Tong is so well-behaved, it's quite convenient to look after him."

Su's father simply nodded and remained silent, then focused all his attention on the chessboard before him.

"You two men, stop your playing and come eat." Su's mother was also happy today, and the visually appealing, fragrant, and delicious dishes looked even more appetizing.

Tong Tong ran to Su's father's side, "Grandpa, Daddy, it's time to eat."

Tong Tong's sensible words were more effective than a hundred of Su's mother's calls. She had called out several times earlier, but no one paid her any mind. Tong Tong's single utterance easily drew Su's father to the dining table.

"I think, you only listen to your grandson," Su's mother grumbled, but she was happy inside.

The family was in harmonious unity. Liu Yifeng was unusually talkative today, and seeing Tong Tong laugh so joyfully lifted his spirits considerably.

After ten o'clock, Su's father and mother were still a bit reluctant to let Tong Tong go home.

"Dad, Mom, Tong Tong should go home now. It's too late, and children need their rest." Su Wanru, seeing the elderly couple's lingering reluctance, had to intervene.

Liu Yifeng glanced at the time and agreed it was indeed getting late. "Uncle and Auntie, there will be many more opportunities in the future. When Tong Tong has more free time next, I'll bring him to visit you again."

Su's father and mother, who were initially unwilling to let go, had their eyes light up at Liu Yifeng's words.

"Are you serious?" Su's father looked at Liu Yifeng in disbelief. It seemed he was shocked by his words and even more surprised that he would say such a thing.

Liu Yifeng smiled slightly. "Absolutely. Come, Tong Tong, say goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa. It's time for us to go home."

"Goodbye Grandpa, goodbye Grandma, Tong Tong has to go home now."

Tong Tong obediently bid them farewell. Su Wanru insisted on seeing them off, and Liu Yifeng couldn't refuse, so he agreed.

"By the way, has Tong Tong's school been decided yet?" Su Wanru knew that Tong Tong had been attending kindergarten and would be entering first grade soon, so a new school choice might be needed.

Liu Yifeng looked at Tong Tong sleeping in his arms. "Not yet. Tong Tong is very smart, and I want to find a school that matches his intelligence."

Indeed, due to the matter of the sheds, he hadn't paid attention to Tong Tong, and the school issue had been delayed. However, this was a crucial time for school admissions, so it was better to look at a few more options.

"Is that so? If you don't mind, I can also help you look. I think the distance between our two homes isn't very far, so I'd like to consider something nearby. This way, when you're busy, I can pick Tong Tong up and help share the burden."

As soon as Su Wanru spoke, Liu Yifeng knew she must have considered this for a long time before saying it, otherwise, she wouldn't have brought it up.

Liu Yifeng didn't answer immediately. He thought for a moment and only spoke when they were almost home.

"I'm truly grateful that you are so concerned about Tong Tong's education. If you don't find it troublesome, then please help me look. My company has been so busy lately that I haven't been able to focus on Tong Tong's schooling."

He replied to Su Wanru before getting out of the car, which greatly surprised her. She had expected him to refuse and not even bother with a polite rejection, thinking it was hopeless. Little did she know he had been seriously considering it all along.

"Don't worry, I will definitely find a very good school."

Su Wanru's eyes practically glowed, perhaps from the shock of his answer, but more so from gratitude towards Liu Yifeng.

Upon returning home, he saw Liu Chunsheng sitting in the living room, which was as expected.

"Dad, you're still awake. Please wait a moment. Tong Tong is asleep, I'll take him to his room first." Before Liu Chunsheng could speak, he used Tong Tong as an excuse to avoid disaster.

By the time he came out, Liu Chunsheng had already retired to his room.

Liu Yifeng knew that his father was simply worried about his precious grandson and feared he wouldn't bring him back, which is why he was waiting up so late.

Seeing his father, he could only shake his head helplessly, and coincidentally thought of Su's father today. He likely had the same sentiment.
