Chapter 217 Striking Simultaneously

At ten o'clock at night, outside the old cosmetics factory, in a white van.

"Boss, the factory workers are still on duty. It looks like we won't be able to make a move anytime soon."

"No rush!"

The man in the passenger seat took a deep drag from his cigarette and chuckled, "Gao Fei's raw materials just arrived, so the security is bound to be tight. But even the fiercest tiger needs to doze off sometime. We'll just keep waiting. Tell the brothers in the van to get some rest now, don't stay on edge all the time. We don't want to fail the mission and become a liability."

"Understood!"

The man standing in front of the van acknowledged and turned to walk towards another van behind them. Meanwhile, the young man in the passenger seat also said to the younger brothers in the back, "Xiao Wu, you guys squeeze in and rest. After we finish tonight, boss will take you for a full spa treatment, plus cash bonuses."

"Boss is mighty, boss is awesome!"

The seven young subordinates in the back cheered and leaned against each other, closing their eyes to rest.

Two blocks away, in a residential area, inside a black SUV.

Wang Desheng, sitting in the back seat, stared intently at the entrance of the residential complex. He glanced at his watch and couldn't help but frown slightly. He picked up his walkie-talkie and switched to Group One's channel: "Old Chen, Old Chen."

"Received!"

"How are things at your exit? Seen anyone arrive?"

"No target sighted yet."

"Continue surveillance!"

"Yes!"

After checking with Group One, Wang Desheng proceeded to inquire with the other three groups. There were four entrances and exits to the residential complex, so he had divided his team into four groups to monitor the underground gambling operations from all angles. A round of inquiries revealed no sign of the target individuals. Wang Desheng remained patient, instructing the three groups to maintain their surveillance and not to let any suspicious persons or vehicles slip through. As he put down his walkie-talkie, the host of the police variety show immediately asked, "Captain Wang, in situations like this surveillance, how do you usually proceed?"

Wang Desheng frowned and glanced at the host, saying, "I'm sorry, I cannot comment!" Although it was a police variety show broadcast nationwide, the methods the criminal investigation team used to monitor and track suspects during an arrest were not allowed to be filmed. This was a mandatory operational confidentiality agreement within the police force. Only after the apprehension of the criminal suspects could the details be vaguely described through interviews or re-shoots, but without revealing specific details.

Ge Qing saw Wang Desheng's displeasure and apologized, "I'm sorry, Desheng. The host from the General Bureau called in sick, and Director Gong is a substitute host." He then looked at the embarrassed host and said, "For the rest of the work, just follow my instructions and don't speak out of turn."

"Understood, Director Ge."

...

At midnight, at the old cosmetics factory.

Two young men in their early twenties stood by the van on the street outside the factory. One of them, with dyed golden hair, said, "The important areas in the factory workshops have had their power cut. There's only one security guard left. Only the warehouse still has four or five guards watching."

The other, a thin young man in driving shoes, said, "Boss, Xiao Yu has scouted the escape route as you instructed. It's on the street directly opposite the back gate of the factory, where there are fewer cars parked. We can have the driver take the van there, and we can slip away after we're done."

As he finished speaking, the golden-haired youth asked, "Boss, should we make a move now? If so, I'll get everyone up."

The man in the passenger seat pulled down his hood and glanced at the factory, which wasn't completely dark yet, "No rush, let's wait a bit longer!"

The two youths nodded and returned to their respective vehicles.

One in the morning.

The entire Chengnan district was silent. On the dimly lit streets under the yellowish streetlights, private cars were parked in rows along the roadside. It was late at night, and apart from a few 24-hour convenience stores, there were almost no late-night food stalls or barbecue stands. The streets looked empty and deserted, with not a soul in sight. Chengnan was an industrial park, and after nightfall, there were very few people wandering around outside. Only a few late-night taxis sped by on every street.

In the residential area two blocks away.

Wang Desheng, squatting in the SUV, kept checking his watch and phone. Just past one in the morning, his phone vibrated slightly. He answered the call and listened silently to the report from the other end without saying a word. After hanging up, Wang Desheng picked up his walkie-talkie and switched the channel to the main broadcast: "All teams, attention! The target has entered Chengnan. Keep a close eye on your respective watchpoints for entry and exit."

"Received!"

"Received!"

The four groups responded in unison. About three minutes later, a black extended SUV appeared at the end of the street. It drove at a moderate pace, entering Wang Desheng's surveillance range. The target vehicle didn't immediately enter the residential complex but pulled over to the side outside it. The driver inside rolled down the window, pretended to smoke a cigarette in the car, but his eyes were vigilantly scanning the surroundings. After half a cigarette, the driver confirmed there were no unusual circumstances and no vehicles following him, then threw away his cigarette butt, rolled up the window, and drove into the complex.

Once inside the complex, Wang Desheng switched the walkie-talkie to Channel Eight: "Teams Five and Six, the target vehicle has entered the complex, license plate Jing Bxxxxx. Report its location at all times."

"Received!"

As the words fell, everyone in the car, except for the substitute host who looked surprised, was used to it. The temporary host hadn't expected that the police had already set up a comprehensive cordon inside and outside the entire complex. A few seconds later, the target vehicle entered the complex, passed by which residential building, and where it finally stopped, all were reported clearly.

Confirming the target suspect had appeared, Wang Desheng took out his service pistol and tucked it into his waistband. He then picked up his walkie-talkie and shouted, "Teams Five and Six, stand by. Teams One, Two, Three, and Four, converge on the target location. Execute."

"Yes!"

After the command, Ge Qing and the substitute host remained in the car. Wang Desheng, along with his team, got out of the car and jogged into the complex.

...

At the same time.

The old cosmetics factory, which had been brightly lit an hour ago, was now plunged into darkness, except for the streetlights within the compound. The man in the passenger seat of the van looked at the darkened factory within the fence and finally decided to act.

"Get your gear, let's move!"

At his command, the seven young men in the back immediately put on masks and hats to cover their faces, and slung their backpacks over their shoulders.

"Rustle!"

The sound of van doors opening echoed on the quiet street. In the passenger seat, Qiao Nima, who hadn't gotten out of the van for over six hours, put on a balaclava that covered his entire face. He got out of the car, stretched his body slightly, and then led fourteen young men over the fence and into the old cosmetics factory. Originally, Qiao Nima was not supposed to lead the operation tonight. However, as a precaution and to ensure the smooth completion of the task at the old factory, he chose to lead the team. Moments later, the more than ten people had all jumped into the factory grounds and disappeared from the street. Once everyone was inside the factory, the two white vans started their engines and drove off towards the designated location on the escape route.
