After Constable Hong left, Yang Chuxia chatted with Land Officer Yang and others for a while, then she and Ye Zi’an went back to their homes to catch up on some sleep.
By the time she woke up, it was already dark.
Her two younger brothers had already returned from school as well. When Yang Xiayun saw her coming out of the room, he quickly ran over and took her with him. "Sister, look at these little dogs. What’s happened to them? They’ve been like this all day."
Hearing about the chow chow puppies, Yang Chuxia suddenly remembered that dogs typically have extremely sharp senses. They should have been able to detect even the slightest disturbance outside and bark to alert their master.
However, her family’s dogs had been completely silent last night. She suspected that they might have been drugged.

Yang Chuxia petted the puppies’ heads and said to Yang Qingrui, "Go to the kitchen and see if there’s any meat. Bring some here."

Soon, Yang Qingrui returned with the meat. Yang Chuxia passed it to the chow chows, but they showed no interest in it, not even sniffing at it, and simply stayed in the haystack.
"I’ll go find Uncle Cai to help take a look."
Yang Chuxia knew that they must have been drugged, but she didn’t know what kind of drug it was. If it was just a common sleeping pill or sedative, they should have been fine after waking up. She also wondered when the dogs were drugged since they were locked in the room overnight. Could it have happened during the day?

"Where’s Brother Zi’an?"

Yang Xiayun piped in, "Brother Zi’an went to town this afternoon."
"What did he go to town for again? Didn’t he just come back this morning?" Yang Chuxia asked curiously. She had already informed the restaurant that morning.
"I don’t know." Yang Xiayun shook his head.
"Did he say when he’ll be back?"
Yang Xiayun shook his head again. Seeing that it was getting dark outside, Yang Chuxia started to worry.
She decided to go to Uncle Cai’s house first, and if Zi’an still hadn’t returned by the time she got back, she would ask Fugui and the others to help look for him. Deep down, Yang Chuxia was also concerned about Ms.Li Junior’s words during the day, hoping that they didn’t provoke Zi’an too much. "Did you go to town this afternoon?"

At his response, Yang Chuxia narrowed her eyes. "Don’t lie!"
Seeing her serious, stern expression, Ye Zi’an slowly nodded. "Alright."
Hearing his confession, Yang Chuxia became anxious. She glanced back at her house, making sure Land Officer Yang and Ms.Wang were in the harem and the Qing brothers were still around the puppies, before pulling Ye Zi’an to a secluded corner by the wall.
"What did you go to the doctor’s for?" The young man looked at her, remaining silent.
