Chapter 470 - 471: Sending Crabs

Chapter 470: Chapter 471: Sending Crabs

"In that case, let’s do it your way." Ye Zi’an thought for a moment and then happily laughed, "Turns out, Xiaxia has long been thinking about living with me, huh?"

"Are you stupid?" Yang Chuxia pinched him, "We’re going to get married sooner or later, right?"

"Yes, Xiaxia is right."

Ye Zi’an laughed.

During the day, she told Land Officer Yang about purchasing their beans. When Yang Dachuan was free in the evening, Yang Chuxia told him about it and shared her plan.

Yang Dachuan didn’t have any objections, and the next day, he went to Land Officer Yang’s house to pick up the bean seeds.

After bringing the seeds back, Broker Liu sent a few people over to help Yang Dachuan plant the beans. Then Yang Chuxia went to the county to buy sunflower seeds and also bought a lot of sweet potato seedlings from other people. They planted them in their own fields and in Ye Zi’an’s field too.

This kept them busy until mid-May, and their new house was completed. Now, Uncle Old Gen was leading the construction of Ye Zi’an’s house.

The new house was connected to Chuxia’s yard and they dug a cellar there.

Once everything was prepared, they just waited for the shrimp and crab deliveries.

As for the fava beans, Yang Dachuan and others had already harvested them a few days earlier. Now, they were being sun-dried on the threshing grounds. Old Mu, who had been watching the beans, had also returned. He had tied his fate to the beans, so he went back to watching them on the grounds.

After observing him from all angles during this period, Yang Chuxia could confirm that he had amnesia, and he was not pretending. She thought that he would leave after a while, but he showed no signs of wanting to leave. In fact, he expressed his wish to stay at Yang Chuxia’s house.

Yang Chuxia thought that having an extra person to help with work would be good, so she agreed.

On the 12th of May, the man who had brought crabs to their house last year arrived, along with several others.

A total of six ox carts, all loaded with crabs and shrimp, were travelling towards Yang Chuxia’s home, creating a stunning sight.

When the ox carts stopped and the covers were lifted, large baskets of crabs and shrimps were exposed, all fresh and new. Water from the sea was still around the baskets and crab bubbles could be seen.

"Miss Yang, I’ve come to deliver the goods!" The man who delivered the goods last year was from West Beach. Their village was also close to the beach, so they contracted that area.

Because of his previous deliveries to Yang Chuxia’s house, he knew that this place was a steady source of income. So during the year, he gritted his teeth and bought a boat, going out to sea to catch the seafood himself instead of just picking it up from the beach or pure purchasing like before.

"Brother Wu, I’ve been waiting for you!" Yang Chuxia said with a smile, "Look, I’ve got everything ready over there—prepared the house, got the manpower, and just waiting for you."

The young man who delivered the seafood was named Wu Shancun. Upon hearing Yang Chuxia’s words, he hurriedly asked, "I didn’t delay your big plans, did I?" He then explained, "This year the sea opening was a few days late at our place, and since it was my first time going out to sea, it took a few more days."

"No problem, no problem, your arrival timing is just right."

As they spoke, the people Wu Shancun brought with him started unloading the goods and carrying them into Yang Chuxia’s yard.

Once Yang Chuxia’s people finished counting the items, Yang Chuxia handed the money to Wu Shancun. It was still the same old rule as last year: cash was handed over along with the goods, and no credit was extended.
