Chapter 606: Chapter 607 Yang Dayong meets Shen Qiu
Yang Dayong felt nothing special about it. After that incident, he returned to normal after a few awkward days. He did his work, ate, drank, and acted as if nothing had happened.
One day, Yang Dayong had just finished making a new wind-up frog toy and planned to show it to Yang Chuxia. From a distance, he saw a girl wearing a moon-white blouse embroidered with delicate flowers. She had a willowy waist and captivating eyes full of autumn-like gentleness. As she turned to face him, her every frown and smile seemed to exude charm. Though young, she was gracefully beautiful. As Yang Dayong took in all these lovely qualities, his mind filtered them down to just two words – pretty!
"Yang, are you going to see Xiaxia?" she asked.
"Yes, yes I am." Yang Dayong scratched his head with a smile and then lowered it slightly, feeling a little embarrassed about his momentary distraction.
"What’s that thing in your hand? It looks quite fun."
Yang Dayong stammered, "It’s, it’s nothing, just a small toy."
"Can I have a look at it?"
"Sure, here you go." Yang Dayong handed the little toy to Shen Qiu.
That’s right. The beautiful girl who had crossed Yang Dayong’s path was Shen Qiu. After Yang Dayong handed her the wind-up frog, she examined it for a while without figuring out what made it special. She then returned the toy to Yang Dayong.
"You don’t want to look at it anymore?"
"No, this seems like something boys would play with." Shen Qiu chuckled, "I just saw Xiaxia at home. You should go see her if you have something for her."
"Oh, okay!"
Yang Dayong nodded, picked up the toy, and left. When he arrived at Yang Chuxia’s house, she happened to be standing outside.
"Uncle Dayong, was that Shen Qiu just now?"
"Yes, it was!" Only then did Yang Dayong remember that Miss Shen had earlier addressed him as "big brother."
Upon hearing that it was Shen Qiu, Yang Chuxia furrowed her brow and casually asked, "What did she want with you, Uncle Dayong?"
"It wasn’t that she was looking for me," Yang Dayong laughed, "We just bumped into each other on the road. She saw the frog I was carrying and wanted to have a look."
"Oh," she nodded, not thinking much of it before asking, "Uncle Dayong, have you tested it yet? Can it hop around?"
"Of course, it’s quite fast!" Yang Dayong said as he took back the frog, wound up the spring, and placed it on the ground.
The frog then hopped around, moving quite far and attracting the attention of Yang Xiayun and a few other kids.
"This is just like the little wooden dog I have – it can move too!" Luo Linhao remarked after watching the frog.
"It may be similar, but not the same. Both toys were made by the same master, so they share the same principle, but the animals are different." After examining the frog, Yang Chuxia commented, "It’s a good item, but the appearance could be better. If it had some paint or a carved pattern, it would be even nicer."
She continued, "The same goes for the little dog from last time. Each of them should have paint – red, black, white. With the New Year approaching, we should be able to sell them at a good price."
As Yang Chuxia was saying this, Mu Shaoling came over, also showing interest in the small frog in her hand.
Last time, he had seen a wooden dog toy at Linhao’s place. It was quite agile and intricate, and he believed that it would fetch a good price if sold in the Capital City.
