Chapter 604: He Actually Held Himself Back

Chapter 604: Chapter 604: He Actually Held Himself Back

The temperature in the room gradually rose to its peak, forming a stark contrast with the snowy scene outside. Striking a match could very likely set this place ablaze.

Ann Vaughn realized just how restrained Cyrus Hawthorne used to be.

Cyrus rested his head against Ann Vaughn’s shoulder for a long time, gradually calming the heat and impulse in his abdomen, then straightened up and tidied Ann Vaughn’s clothes.

As Ann Vaughn gathered herself, she thought he would take the next step, only to see him tidy up his own clothes and then release her.

Ann Vaughn: ???

He actually held back??

Just as Cyrus was about to turn towards the bathroom, his coat was grabbed by Ann Vaughn, followed by a petulant and unreasonable query, "I’ve been this forward, and you can still hold back! Tell me, are you tired of me?"

Cyrus turned and pinched her flushed cheeks with a smile, "If you want to have a bloody battle with me, I wouldn’t mind."

If it wasn’t for her rare initiative, which made him temporarily forget other matters, he wouldn’t have held back until now before letting her go.

Upon hearing those four words, Ann Vaughn’s cheeks turned bright red.

Oh no, she forgot that her period hadn’t ended yet.

No wonder Cyrus was so well-behaved tonight. Usually, within two minutes, he’d have thrown her onto the bed.

Turns out there was a stumbling block in the way.

"You have this day too?" Not only did Ann Vaughn not feel sorry, she laughed smugly.

Noticing the smug glint in her eyes, Cyrus raised his eyebrow, released the pinch on her cheeks, and whispered dangerously in her ear, "Consider it noted, only a few days left."

With that, he turned and headed into the bathroom.

Ann Vaughn stood there blankly, taking a moment to realize what he meant, and then shouted in anger, "Cyrus Hawthorne, you pervert!"

He even remembered when her period would end!

So, all calculated, she only had two safe days left??

Ann Vaughn gasped sharply, belatedly feeling her legs turning to jelly.

"Buzz buzz"

Just then, something on the sofa vibrated.

Ann Vaughn propped herself up and walked over, picked up the suit jacket Cyrus had left on the sofa, and saw the black phone that was under it.

She glanced down and saw that it was a call from Julian Ford.

Ann Vaughn picked up the phone and walked to the bathroom, "A call from Julian Ford. I brought your phone."

The water in the bathroom didn’t stop, and then Cyrus’s hoarse voice came through, "You answer it, right here."

"Okay." Ann Vaughn

looked at the frosted glass door of the bathroom suspiciously, feeling that Cyrus’s voice seemed a bit odd.

Thinking he might want to know what Julian Ford was calling about, Ann Vaughn reluctantly stood at the bathroom door and answered the call, "Hello?"

"Cyrus..." Julian Ford quickly changed his words, "Oh, it’s you, sister-in-law, am I bothering you guys at this hour?"

"No, Quinn is in the shower. Do you need something from him?" Ann Vaughn coughed and asked.

"Nothing too important, it’s just that Evan Sawyer, that fool...silly people have silly blessings, seems to have broken up, and asked me out for a drink. I just wanted to see if Cyrus would join us."

Ann Vaughn frowned and thought for a moment, then smiled, "You and Quinn have a good relationship, right?"

"Of course, you could say we grew up wearing the same pair of int...intimates." After saying that, Julian Ford slapped his mouth.

It was all because of Evan Sawyer, that fool, otherwise, how could he not control his nonsensical mouth?

"That’s great." Ann Vaughn continued, "Quinn’s health is currently being monitored and he’s prohibited from drinking, as it would be detrimental to his recovery. Since you are close and often hang out together, please help watch over him and don’t let him drink."

Julian Ford couldn’t miss the underlying meaning in her words and immediately gave up on getting Cyrus to come out for drinks.

"I’m sorry, sister-in-law, I just got back to the country, and Cyrus hadn’t mentioned it. I only found out now that drinking isn’t suitable for his health. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure he doesn’t touch a drop!"

"Thank you then, if you ever need help in the future, feel free to reach out to me."

"It’s nothing, sister-in-law, you’re too polite." Julian Ford agreed outwardly, but didn’t think there would be any situation needing Ann Vaughn’s help.

He figured bothering his brother would suffice, bothering Ann Vaughn... he wasn’t looking for trouble.

After hanging up, Ann Vaughn was about to turn off the phone screen when she heard low, deep breaths amidst the water noises from the bathroom.

Ann Vaughn’s mind went blank, her eyes widening.

As she realized what was happening, she immediately rushed to the bathroom door, angrily and embarrassedly pounding on it, "Cyrus!"

She found it hard to express the rest, blushing furiously, gritted her teeth, and warned, "You better not come out!!"

After saying that, Ann Vaughn stomped her foot hard and angrily turned away from the bathroom door.

She thought he wanted her to stand by the bathroom door to catch the call because he wanted to know immediately why Julian Ford was calling him!

Turns out!!

The man was a beast!!

Ann Vaughn angrily clutched the phone, accidentally tapping an email notification at the top of the screen, which made the interface jump to the mailbox.

She glanced down at the interface and was about to exit when she caught sight of the email content, and her gaze froze.

Without thinking, Ann Vaughn bit her red lips and scrolled down on the screen to see a full picture unfold before her eyes.

This is...
