Chapter 602: Confession

Chapter 602: Chapter 602: Confession

Willow White stood up with a pale face, gently shook her head at Evan Sawyer, and then looked defiantly at Ann Vaughn, "No matter how much you look down on me, I will not break up with Evan!"

A group of young men, eager for drama, stood by the screen with their ears perked up. Little did they know, upon hearing the beginning, they sensed something was off.

"What exactly is going on?" Willow White’s words immediately made Evan Sawyer frown and he turned to ask Ann Vaughn, "Sis, what did you say to Willow?"

Ann Vaughn casually grabbed a piece of paper, wiped her hands clean, and then leisurely said, "I do want to ask your girlfriend which drama school she graduated from. Her acting skills are concerning."

Willow White’s face turned even whiter, and her face began to tremble slightly, "Why do you keep humiliating me? What exactly have I done to offend you?"

Her appearance was pure and lovely, her eyes were as clean and helpless as a young doe, combined with this expression, it easily aroused men’s protective instincts.

This was evident from the enduring thin anger on Evan Sawyer’s face.

"Or is it..." Willow White looked at Ann Vaughn with bright eyes tinged with sarcasm, as if not taking her seriously, and unwillingly bit her lip, "Do you also like Evan, so from the beginning you’ve been dissatisfied with my presence and are trying to drive me away from him, right?"

Ann Vaughn scoffed internally.

How could this be a simple daisy?

Splashing her with dirty water wasn’t enough; she even wanted to drive a wedge between Evan and Cyrus Hawthorne’s brotherly relationship?

Seeing his girlfriend being bullied like this, even if Ann Vaughn was his brother’s wife, Evan Sawyer couldn’t stand by idly: "Sis, I respectfully call you sis..."

"Please keep your mouth shut." Ann Vaughn directly interrupted Evan, not giving him a chance to continue.

Then she raised the phone in her hand and said to Willow White with a light mockery, "When you were designing this scene, did you not consider that it might be recorded?"

Recording?!!

Willow White’s eyes suddenly changed, fingers under her sleeves tightened abruptly, eyes fixed on the phone in Ann Vaughn’s hand.

This woman is too calculating!

She even recorded it!

"I don’t understand what you’re talking about..."

"Don’t understand?" Ann Vaughn’s pretty face smiled even more, and her slender fingers pretended to tap on the phone screen, "Maybe after listening to this recording, Miss White will remember?"

Willow White bit her lip, and her eyes were red and pitiful, making the young men watching on the side feel a bit sympathetic.

But to Ann Vaughn, who believed in "do not offend me and I won’t offend you, but if you do, we won’t leave any future trouble," it elicited no sympathy at all.

She had given Willow White a chance to stop talking, but since Willow herself didn’t cherish it, she shouldn’t blame her for being disrespectful.

Seeing that Ann Vaughn’s hand was about to hit the play button, Willow White hurriedly tried to stop her, but Evan Sawyer beside her was faster.

"Sis, I know you are generous, can you let it go for my sake and pretend nothing happened?" Evan Sawyer’s voice carried a hint of pleading.

When Willow White attempted to stop Ann Vaughn, he had already realized there was probably more to the truth.

But it’s better to play ignorant than know everything.

Ann Vaughn’s slender finger paused, her clear gaze swept over Willow White’s pale face and Evan Sawyer’s complicated expression, curving her red lips into a smile, "Okay, for Quinn’s sake, I’ll give you this face."

"Thank you, Sis. I’ll treat you to a meal next time as an apology." Evan Sawyer said lowly to Ann Vaughn, then embraced the frail, dependent Willow White and headed out.

"Wait." Before reaching the side of the screen, Ann Vaughn’s clear, cool voice rang out again.

Evan Sawyer and Willow White stopped in their tracks and looked back at Ann Vaughn, who stood lazily leaning against the black wall with her arms crossed, "Sis, is there anything else?"

"Just suddenly remembered that Miss White seemed to say earlier that I also like Evan, so I was hard on her."

Upon hearing this, Willow White shuddered and shrunk back into Evan Sawyer’s embrace, not daring to respond.

Ann Vaughn’s eyes smiled even more, tilting her delicate chin slightly upward like a proud queen, overlooking Willow White.

"I’m sure Miss White doesn’t know that my relationship with my husband is sweet and loving, unbreakable like gold?"

"To me, men in this world are only divided into him and others. I’m not interested in any other men besides him, and this life I’m only devoted to him."

"Does Miss White, whose acting skills and comprehension are concerning, understand what I mean?"

Her words were pearls, her voice soft yet resilient, making anyone who heard it feel a tingling sensation over half of their body.

The young men hiding behind the screen instantly erupted in a low cheering sound, as if they were the ones being confessed to, their faces turning red.

Simply choked by this luscious top-grade royal dog food.

Who could withstand such a fiery confession?

After realizing why Ann Vaughn took the extra step to explain these words to them, Evan Sawyer couldn’t help but feel a sudden tinge of envy toward Cyrus Hawthorne.

"Sis, rest assured, what you worry about won’t happen." After saying this, Evan Sawyer hugged Willow White and headed outside.

Picking up on Evan Sawyer’s underlying meaning, Ann Vaughn curled the corners of her lips, indifferently shifting her gaze away.

Who knew that when she turned her head, she would see Cyrus Hawthorne, who had been standing on the other side of the screen for who knows how long, with slightly squinted eyes holding a faint, amused smile—

Ann Vaughn: ...

The heavens are plotting to end her.

...

A blue Ferrari slowly came to a stop beneath a high-end apartment building.

"Evan Sawyer, thank you for bringing me back today." Willow White said, her eyes red, turning her head towards Evan Sawyer who was seated in the driver’s seat, "Also, I’m very sorry for causing you trouble today."

Evan Sawyer’s fingers drummed on the steering wheel, asked puzzledly, "Hmm?"

"I... I should have held back earlier, shouldn’t have torn into Miss Vaughn and argued with her. After all, she’s your friend, and I shouldn’t have embarrassed you." Willow White wiped the tears from her eyes, her voice carrying a sobbing tone, "Have I troubled you again?"

Though she wanted to cry, she forcibly held back, tears glistening in her eyes, looking both tender and stubborn.

"I don’t blame you." Evan Sawyer sighed, unbuckling his seatbelt to pull her into a comforting embrace, "Don’t overthink it, you weren’t any trouble to me."

"Re-Really?"

Evan Sawyer softly uttered a sound of agreement, then seemingly casually asked, "What exactly did you and Ann Vaughn argue about?"

Willow White’s fingers tightened around his clothing, taking a long moment to answer, "In truth, it wasn’t much. It was my fault for being too emotional and not holding back, which led to a dispute with Miss Vaughn."

"It’s not a big deal." Evan Sawyer smiled slightly, pausing for a long time before continuing, "Is there anything else you’d like to tell me?"
