Chapter 183: My Boyfriend Will Be Here Soon

Chapter 183: Chapter 183: My Boyfriend Will Be Here Soon

The bedroom curtains blocked out the morning light from outside.

After an indeterminate time, the two silhouettes finally rested.

A slender leg lifted from beneath the blanket and fiercely kicked the man beside her, "Get out."

Silas Master Moore wickedly curled his lips, clutching that slender leg without letting go, "Susie Sommers, what do you take me for?"

"Take you for what?" Susie turned around, supporting her head with one hand, her smile full of extreme sarcasm and arrogance, "It’s just been a night, and you already forgot who you are?"

"Tsk, I really should let my good girlfriend see how you were last night."

"You dare tell her and see what happens!" Silas’s face immediately turned ashen, gripping Susie’s chin firmly, he said in a deep voice, "You better behave, or I won’t mind giving you a lesson."

Hearing this, Susie amusingly flicked his hand away, grabbed a robe and draped it over herself, then stood up and looked down at him.

"Silas Master Moore, I’ll give you back the same words, if you want to threaten me, you should also see what I’m capable of."

After saying that, Susie contemptuously turned her head away and walked toward the bathroom, "No wonder you haven’t married yet, with someone like you, anyone who marries you is doomed!"

Her last words completely angered Silas, and before her hand could touch the edge of the bathroom door, she was pulled back forcefully.

Silas’s chilling voice sounded in her ear, "Seems like you’re tired of living!"

"What, Leona Chambers can’t satisfy you, so you have to hang on my tree?" Susie’s wrist hurt from being grabbed, she frowned slightly, "Let go of me, my boyfriend is coming over soon, you better get out before then."

Something in her words suddenly ignited Silas’s temper, and his face instantly turned cold, mercilessly throwing Susie aside.

Susie nearly fell to the ground, managing to steady herself by holding onto the wall, her discomfort clear in her slightly pale face.

Looking at her suddenly pale face, anger brewed in Silas’s eyes, his expression turning colder, "Last night’s incident is wiped clean, if I find you’ve taken this to talk nonsense in front of Leona, don’t blame me for not remembering past affections!"

With that, he turned and walked away, slamming the door shut with a loud "bang".

Susie’s body trembled slightly, looking at the direction of the door; she slid down the wall onto the floor.

No longer having the fight she had moments before, her face was filled with loneliness and restraint.

She used to play cards with Silas Master Moore, almost always winning, and the loser had to drink. His drinking behavior was always good—answering questions without making a fuss, obedient like a three-and-a-half-year-old child.

She invited him out under the pretext of celebrating his engagement to Melody Sommers, and by that method, she successfully got him drunk and got him to spill the beans.

Initially planning to dump him at the hotel to prevent him from waking up the next day and realizing he was tricked into talking.

But who knew he would suddenly act like a different person, what happened afterwards was beyond her control.

From the moment Silas and Leona were tangled up together, everything was already beyond her control.

Susie buried her face in her knees and let out a low, suppressed laugh.

After breakfast, Ann Vaughn left the hotel with Kenny, moving into the apartment she’d had set up before returning to the country.

They had come back too late last night, so they didn’t move in immediately.

"Mommy, are we going to live here from now on?" Kenny asked, leaning on the balcony railing, big eyes blinking as he looked at the pool below.

"That’s right, Kenny, do you like it here?" Ann said with a smile, taking a cup of water from Sherry and drinking a few sips.

"I like any place where Mommy is." The little guy said seriously.

"Annie, what you mentioned before has been arranged by Mr. Jennings, when do you plan to?" Sherry asked Ann as she was packing, recalling Sutton’s instructions.

Ann went to the balcony and stretched lazily, her voice rather languid, "There’s no rush, for now, we can’t startle the snake."

Otherwise, her next plans would be hard to execute.

Hearing this, Sherry then brought up the second matter, "Next month on the tenth, there’s a networking event, all top-notch traditional Chinese medicine practitioners are invited, you’re on the list, are you going?"

Ever since the doctor who developed the antidote that saved people from the virus attacks worldwide was rumored to be a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner,

countries around the world have developed a huge interest and yearning for the traditional Chinese medicine industry of S Country, even sending many experts to study and discuss.

In recent years, programs related to traditional Chinese medicine have been emerging one after another, aiming to prove to many who misunderstand it that traditional Chinese medicine is not an aberration but a precious national heritage.

"Sure." Ann nodded, agreeing.

Seeing that Ann and Sherry were discussing work-related matters, Kenny dashed back to his room.

It was a children’s room decorated according to Ann’s personally designed blueprints, with sky blue and pure white tones, the ceiling had cloud reliefs, and if you turned off the lights, stars and the moon were reflected on it.

After searching for a while, Kenny finally got out his exclusive little computer, and his chubby hands tapped away, soon bringing up a chat interface on the screen.

Spade J: There’s a small-scale outbreak of the N3H5 virus on my side. It was an unavoidable disaster, the bottle containing the virus accidentally got opened. Even the perpetrator got infected, crying their eyes out, a real oddball.

Sloater: You know even such confidential stuff, and you claim you’re a beggar?

Spade J: Struggling just to get by, I can’t even drink a few more sips of cold wind without getting my teeth jammed. Who’s more of a beggar than I am? @My King, if you don’t give me the blueprints soon, I won’t even have a pot to cook with at home.

Kenny looked at the top message, his little eyebrows furrowing, the virus being carried into the country, how was it not detected?

Eve: @My King, don’t mind him, he wanted to eat eel rice a few days ago, and tried out his new invention gloves, caught an electric eel, almost didn’t make it, and now he’s still in the hospital.

Sloater: Hahaha, this is the funniest story I’ve heard today, impressive, little Jack, that invention of yours dared to catch an electric eel, hahaha.

Spade J: You can call me Spade or J, but can you stop referring to me in such a sleazy way?

Seeing the group’s chat getting more and more off-topic, Kenny typed a line, "The blueprints you want are still being drawn, but seeing how miserable you are, I can’t just stand by."

Spade J just posted a mushy line saying, "Only My King cares about me," when Kenny’s next line immediately followed.

My King: How about canceling the transaction, I’ll refund you the deposit so you can have a nice meal instead.
