Chapter 275: The Goodnight Kiss of Courtesy

Chapter 275: Chapter 275: The Goodnight Kiss of Courtesy

Cyrus Hawthorne then put down the remote control as instructed, stood up, and sat at the dining table, picking up chopsticks to eat noodles, his posture was extremely elegant and dignified.

...If he were to change to a softer, more obedient expression, he’d almost be the same as Kenny!

But...

Ann Vaughn glanced at the small dishes on the table, pushing them towards Cyrus. "The side dishes will be better with the noodles."

She specifically made one spicy and one non-spicy, just to see if he would reveal any slip-up.

"Mm." Cyrus responded lightly, casually picking up the non-spicy side dish on the right and tasting it, then tried the spicy one, curling his lips towards her, "Very tasty."

"...Then have more?" Ann watched him with a no changing expression, wondering if she might be wrong, maybe he really could handle spicy food?

Cyrus finished both small dishes and the shredded chicken noodles without any sign of discomfort, leaving Ann to clean up the table full of doubt.

She went to the room and rummaged in the wardrobe for a while, finally finding the family matching pajamas a shop had gifted when she went to the mall with Kenny.

The men’s one had always been left aside, who knew it would come in handy today.

She brought the clothes out to Cyrus, who was watching Crayon Shin-chan in the living room, "I don’t have any other clothes here, so you’ll have to make do."

Cyrus nodded slightly, his long fingers holding the pale gray bear pajamas, a trace of pleasure between his cool eyebrows.

Though Ann wondered if she was imagining things, Cyrus’s lip color seemed somewhat lighter than before.

...Ugh!

What was she, some kind of pervert watching people’s lips all day!

Ann mentally cursed at herself, then sat down three cushions away from Cyrus, asking him to stretch out his hand.

After checking the pulse, Ann didn’t detect any noticeable issues with his brain.

But the hospital’s examination results wouldn’t be wrong.

Yet why it was that there was a problem in a segment, filtering through the scenes of that day’s acupuncture over and over, but she could not find anything wrong.

If it was due to those poison infiltrating his brain, messing with the nervous system leading to memory gaps, that would make sense.

While Ann’s mind was wandering, she suddenly felt like being engulfed by some large animal, she froze.

She looked up to find herself being held in Cyrus’s arms, his eyes half-closed, looking comfortable, holding her tighter with his strong arms...

Ann’s face flushed, biting her teeth as she pushed him, "Didn’t I tell you not to touch me? Now I’m starting to suspect you’re pretending to lose your memory just to take advantage of me!"

That night when he pressed her under the tree, thinking about it still made Ann’s cheeks flush.

And that was outside, under the open sky and moonlight. He had absolutely no sense of shame!

Cyrus looked at her with slightly puzzled narrow eyes, asking with a light voice, "I remember we are husband and wife."

"So, what’s wrong with holding you?"

"Who said we’re husband and wife?" Ann retorted angrily, "You’ve lost your memory so you don’t remember, let me remind you, we’ve already divorced, what you’re doing is illegal, better watch out or I’ll sue you!"

"Where’s the divorce certificate?"

"..."

"Unless you can show solid documentation proving we are indeed divorced, everything you say becomes invalid to me, I can still exercise my rightful rights."

"..."

Ann was dumbfounded.

Hey, what happened to the lost memory?

His lucid brain and flawless reasoning looked nothing like amnesia!

Ann couldn’t help but complain about this BUG, but saw Cyrus narrow his brow slightly, looking towards her, "Losing memory isn’t losing intelligence."

"..." Damn, that makes sense, she can’t refute.

Just as Ann wanted to quietly play dead, she was too lazy to bother with him, Cyrus suddenly picked her up and headed toward the bedroom.

"What are you doing?!" Ann held onto his neck in panic, staring at him uneasily.

"It’s time for you to sleep." His voice was low and calm, "Staying up late is also a big sign of degrading intelligence."

Staying up late? Degrading intelligence?

These two words made Ann want to kick him, it’s clearly only ten o’clock now, how is that late?! How?!

But Cyrus paid no heed to her struggle and dissatisfaction, laying her down on the soft bed in the room, covering her with the blanket, and bent down to give her a light kiss on the forehead.

Like a feather gently, bringing a bit of coolness.

Ann’s unruly anger and complaints dissipated instantly like water droplets under the sunlight.

Her cheeks feeling warm, making Ann shrink back under the covers unconsciously, looking at Cyrus who hadn’t left, she mumbled, "You go out."

"You haven’t given me a goodnight kiss." Cyrus looked at her with deep eyes, as if they were a whirlpool stirring wanting to suck people in.

"...Why should I give you a goodnight kiss?"

"Reciprocation, isn’t that proper?"

"..."

During the short hour, Ann deeply experienced what it felt like to be continuously at a loss for words because of him.

Was Cyrus ever so shameless before?

The answer is no.

The current sticky and somewhat proud Cyrus is like two extremes compared to before.

Still as unwilling to lose, caustic to the point!

Ann puffed up her cheeks, a look of resistance glaring at him, but even after staring until her eyes were sore, Cyrus maintained the same posture, extremely patient.

...Alright.

Ann slightly leaned forward, quickly pecked him on the face, and immediately shrunk back in the covers, "Go away! I’m going to sleep now!"

The ears sticking out the covers turned red, small and cute.

Cyrus’s thin lips stretched into a smile, a barren and desolate heart finally warming a bit, then he left the room.

Not until the sound of the door closing was heard, Ann dared not to reveal her face from the covers, burying deeper in shame.

Luckily Sherry and Kenny were in the neighboring apartment, otherwise, how would she explain the sudden appearance of a man in her home?

And it was her ex-husband!

She absolutely couldn’t let Cyrus run into Kenny, or after he regains his memory, there’ll be trouble!

Thinking of these, made Ann briefly forget the stifling feel that disrupted her heart at Cretan’s Restaurant, falling asleep in a haze.

In the middle of the night.

Ann felt a bit thirsty, after lots of mental preparations, she finally decided to get up to the living room for water.

Her eyes still groggy, after drinking water Ann was ready to return to the room, but the figure on the sofa startled her and almost jumped up.
