Chapter 743: Bear Kiss

Chapter 743: Chapter 743: Bear Kiss

This is basically not an easy thing to do.

After running for an unknown amount of time, the rogue bear finally stopped and placed Ann Vaughn back on the ground amidst her struggle and tender scolding.

"You... you bear trafficker, do you believe it, do you believe I’ll twist your bear head off and make soup out of it?" Ann Vaughn shouted all the way, her voice almost breaking, while keeping a keen eye on her surroundings to prevent any of its accomplices.

But there weren’t any.

They were at the end of the long street, and in front was a sea of people. One could only faintly see the music fountain shimmering under the moonlight, with countdown numbers occasionally flickering across the water curtain.

Ann Vaughn was captivated by the scene and couldn’t help but stand on her tiptoes to see better.

The next second, she was lifted up by a pair of bear paws, easily seating her on its shoulders.

Ann Vaughn let out a surprised cry and quickly hugged the head of the big white bear to avoid falling.

"What exactly do you intend to do..." She hadn’t finished her annoyed words when she realized that her once narrow view suddenly became expansive, causing her mood to brighten significantly.

It was as if the entire world at this moment was gathered beneath her gaze.

An indescribable magical feeling.

"Wow—" The onlookers nearby gasped in low voices upon witnessing this scene, "Where did you find a boyfriend like that? I want one who can lift me onto his shoulders too..."

"Honey, here’s your chance to prove yourself. Do you choose to lift me like that bear or let me sit on your shoulders to see the view?"

"Sweetie, I choose to live two more years."

"You can’t even do this? Useless! We’re breaking up!"

"Hey no, don’t go... What? How’s a guy supposed to compare to a bear?!"

The surrounding sounds couldn’t catch Ann Vaughn’s attention. With one hand, she hugged the big white bear’s head, pointing with the other at the sky where fireworks were unfurling, her two slender legs kicking joyously, eyes bright as if shining stars.

"Look, bear! The fireworks are here!"

The big white bear nodded a couple of times, indicating it understood.

Ann Vaughn’s position was practically a super VIP treatment: soft, high up, and with a fantastic view.

She couldn’t help but wonder if the heavens thought it too sad for her to spend Valentine’s Day alone, so they specially granted her a gentleman bear to fulfill her desire?

After she finished her musings, the fireworks were almost over.

As Ann Vaughn turned to thank the big white bear, it happened to turn its head at the same time.

Her soft lips unexpectedly brushed against the bear’s mouth, her bright eyes meeting the bear’s black eyes.

Ann Vaughn: ???

"Ah!" Ann Vaughn suddenly straightened up, quickly covering her mouth and pulling away from the big white bear, her cheeks turning crimson, "Sorry, sorry, I didn’t mean it!"

She hurriedly got off the big white bear’s shoulders, her hand clutching the bouquet of roses tightening awkardly.

Thankfully, it was just a plush bear; otherwise, Ann Vaughn might have exploded on the spot.

But even kissing it like that was enough to make her blush!

The big white bear’s head tilted slowly, looking utterly bewildered and adorably cute.

The tension in Ann Vaughn’s heart suddenly "poofed" away, and she laughed again, "Thanks for earlier, I got to see such beautiful and rare sights. Um... let me give you a gift!"

The big white bear had given her flowers and shown her such a fantastic view, she definitely had to give something back in return.

Ann Vaughn rummaged through her handbag but couldn’t find anything quite suitable as a gift, except for a hastily made floral pouch she used for practice, which wasn’t very well sewn.

She awkwardly eyed the floral pouch and was about to tuck it back into her bag when a bear paw already grabbed it.

"It’s not really anything good," Ann Vaughn tried to retrieve the item but the big white bear dodged, holding onto the flower pouch tightly.

This cuteness was almost comparable to Kenny’s.

Ann Vaughn chuckled, "Alright, since you like it."

The big white bear nodded its head.

"By the way, I feel like you know me, could you tell me your..." Just as she was speaking, Ann Vaughn felt a gust of wind blowing past, lifting the strands of hair at her cheeks.

When she looked again—

Huh! The bear was gone!

Ann Vaughn’s eyes blinked in disbelief as she bewilderedly looked at the item left in her arms by the bear as it fled.

It was the heart from the bear figurine’s chest.

Considering the big white bear’s actions, it seemed as though it was giving her its "heart."

Ann Vaughn laughed, wondering which department store had such a charming bear!

After buying herself a photo with the big white bear from the street photographer, Ann Vaughn returned to her apartment laden with the bouquet and the bear’s heart.

Remembering the other prize from The Jade Pavilion that she hadn’t looked at, Ann Vaughn opened the ornate box.

Inside lay a delicate brooch; the edges were adorned with deep blue diamonds, and in the center was a smooth black pearl, understated yet noble.

"Oh my!" Susie Sommers just came out of the bathroom and pounced over when she saw what Ann Vaughn was holding, full of surprise, "Girl, can you tell me why is the black pearl known as ’Deep Sea Dawn,’ which should be in a museum, turned into a brooch?!"

If the fans of this black pearl knew, they’d cry an ocean of tears.

Ann Vaughn paused while stroking the black pearl, then cautiously retracting her hand, "You must be mistaken? I won it as a special prize at The Jade Pavilion while dining..."

"Ahhh! You didn’t take me with you!" Susie Sommers exclaimed jealously, "This black pearl’s value is beyond money; does that store have a mine to give it as a prize?!"

Though Ann Vaughn didn’t know much about this "Deep Sea Dawn," she was aware of its great value.

She couldn’t help but tremble slightly as she held the brooch in her hands.

What she was holding wasn’t just a brooch; it could be worth billions...

The Jade Pavilion was being overly generous...

Before Ann Vaughn could make sense of it, Susie Sommers suddenly hugged her, "...What are you doing?"

"Let me rub off some of your lucky aura, hoping to hook my uncle tomorrow!"

"..."

Ann Vaughn’s good mood lasted until after Valentine’s Day, considering Kenny’s recovery seemed complete, she took care of his re-enrollment process.

The work for the new product would still take some time; leaving Kenny at home alone was less safe than having him at school.

However, for some reason, Kenny had shut himself away for an entire afternoon, squatting in the corner of the living room and drawing circles.
