Chapter 541: Chapter 541: Giving You a Chance to Be with Sebastian Blackwood
Sebastian Blackwood held the person in his arms and sat on the edge of the soft bed. His handsome face was etched with layers of shadows under the warm yellow bedroom light as he recalled some past memories.
After she faked her death and left, everything about her vexed him.
This bed sheet was especially so.
But when the servants genuinely replaced it, he suffered from insomnia, sleepless nights after sleepless nights.
Helpless, he had them put the sheet back on, and only then did he manage to sleep well; perhaps it was because of her lingering scent on it, or perhaps...
Sebastian Blackwood closed his eyes tightly, his long lashes casting shadows beneath. He smiled self-mockingly.
Or perhaps, as far back as four years ago, he had deeply loved her in his subconscious.
But he refused to admit it.
Swallowing, Sebastian buried these thoughts, cradling Ivy Kensington as he lay down with her under the covers.
"Sleep."
Ivy obediently murmured in agreement, clinging to him with all her limbs, as if she didn’t want to part from him for a moment.
Sebastian smirked playfully, "Holding me so tight, afraid I’ll disappear when you wake up?"
Yes.
Ivy nodded in her heart.
She was keenly aware that when the sun rose, she and Sebastian would no longer be in this state; it only took a moment to go from love to hate.
"Master Blackwood."
She called to him softly, "Will we ever have a wedding in the future?"
A wedding?
Sebastian raised his thick eyebrows and responded lightly, "You’re willing to remarry? As long as you remarry, I’ll give you whatever you want."
Ivy’s smile touched with bitterness.
Remarrying, perhaps that will never happen in this lifetime.
But for now, let’s make this short dream a little more complete.
"Yes." She nodded, envisioning, "I want a grand traditional Chinese wedding, with Ginny, Cody, and Ronnie as our flower children, delivering rings and lifting the gown..."
Every word she had realized in her dreams before.
Sebastian slowly tightened his hold on her waist, murmuring, "I know."
Unconsciously, Ivy fell asleep, in the middle of the night.
A strong scent of blood filled her nostrils.
Ivy’s heart clenched, and she quickly climbed out of bed, finding the spot next to her empty; Sebastian was gone.
"Sebastian..."
She got out of bed to look for him and saw bright red blood on the pale pink pillowcase.
Ivy’s body went limp; she knew this was because the poison in Sebastian was acting up!
Stumbling, she ran out of bed, following the lit path to the bathroom, rushing over.
Under the bright bathroom lights, Sebastian’s tall silhouette stood before the sink.
In the mirror, he bowed his head, hands trying to clean the blood flowing from his nose, but no matter how he washed, the blood wouldn’t stop, as if flowing endlessly...
Ivy stood behind him, seeing the scene clearly through the mirror.
She raised her hand, covering her mouth tightly, her eyes already brimming with tears.
I’m sorry, Sebastian...
Wiping her tears with the back of her hand, she finally made a decision within.
Then she turned around, quietly stepping out, and called Claire Crowley: "Blackwood Manor, come over now."
Claire was asleep, suddenly woken up, not happy, about to scold, when she heard: "It’s so late, why should I go over?"
Sebastian doesn’t even like her; going over might just be humiliating herself.
Ivy replied, "Giving you a chance to be with Sebastian."
What?
Claire was shocked, immediately sitting up in bed.
