Chapter 652: Terrance’ Suggestion

Chapter 652: Terrance’ Suggestion

The battle ended, and Alain took Charizard to the Pokémon Center, while Terrance politely declined Ash and the others’ invitation.

"No need, Altaria can recover with Roost and Berries."

Terrance shook his head slightly, choosing not to go to the Pokémon Center with Alain. Although he had temporary citizenship, he did not have Trainer identity and thus could not enjoy treatment at the Pokémon Center.

"I see..." Ash looked at Altaria, who had fallen on the ground. He saw its feathers glow faintly, and then the glow enveloped its entire body, gently healing the injuries it had just sustained.

"Alain, he..."

Clemont walked over. "Seems like he has something on his mind."

"Yeah." Terrance nodded. "He must be carrying a heavy burden."

Through the battle with Alain, Terrance realized that this Trainer named Alain is someone with a story. An ordinary Trainer wouldn’t have such strong conviction.

Because of this, Terrance made a decision: "Akon, pack up. We’re leaving."

"Leaving?" Akon was confused. "Aren’t we going to have Castform battle Alain?"

"Yeah, wasn’t there supposed to be another battle?" Ash said, puzzled. He had been looking forward to it.

Terrance shook his head. "Just remembered something important. As for the battle with Alain, let’s save it for the next time we meet."

Looking up at the sky, Terrance said to Ash, "Please let Alain know for me."

Alain, who had just experienced a defeat, was clearly a bit unsettled. Terrance didn’t want to battle someone in that state.

At the very least, a battle should only take place once the opponent has calmed down.

"Alright then," Ash said.

Having made his decision, Terrance and Akon were about to set off. But just as they were about to leave, Terrance suddenly thought of Ash’s Greninja.

"By the way, Ash, your Greninja..." Terrance paused and said, "You might want to try teaching it the move Extrasensory. If I remember correctly, Greninja shouldn’t have much trouble learning it."

"Even if you can’t get used to that transformation state with Greninja, there are many ways to use psychic power. As for how to go about it, you’ll have to explore on your own."

"Extrasensory?"

"Yeah, good luck." Terrance turned around and walked out of the forest, raising his hand and waving with his back to Ash and his group.

Akon followed beside Terrance. Since Terrance had already decided to leave, he had no objections.

Once they had left the forest, Akon asked curiously, "Why tell Ash’s Greninja to learn Extrasensory?"

"It’s obvious." Terrance smiled slightly. "That form of Ash’s Greninja is similar to Mega Evolution, maybe even stronger. But that Greninja hasn’t trained long enough to master that power."

"That Greninja just evolved recently, and it’s only been trained under Ash for less than half a year. A newly evolved Pokémon trained for less than six months reaching near Elite Four-level strength, how could that kind of power be easy to control?"

"That’s why it needs a move like Extrasensory to help balance it out..." Akon suddenly understood.

"Exactly." Terrance nodded. "Greninja’s signature move is those shuriken made from compressed water. If they’re spun rapidly before being thrown, they can even slice through metal."

"With its power increased, Greninja doesn’t yet have the skill to control more densely compressed Water Shuriken. But if it can use Extrasensory to harmonize with the internal structure of the Water Shuriken, even without other moves, just mastering Water Shuriken alone would allow Greninja to unleash tremendous strength."

Terrance’s suggestion was spontaneous. Although it relied on external power, Ash’s Greninja had truly impressed him.

If a few words of advice could help Ash avoid some detours, Terrance was more than happy to offer them.

"So, where are we going next?" Akon asked.

"Challenge along the way, then head to this place."

Terrance took out a map and pointed to a location.

"This... is that the newly discovered ruin??"

Akon was surprised.

"Yeah, it’s said that this ruin is related to a Kalos myth..."

"No, rather, its existence confirms the truth of that myth."

Terrance’s eyes were burning with intensity. The path he had taken all along led in the same direction as the mountain range where the ruin was located.

Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde—the three Legendary Pokémon of the Kalos region—became widely known because of that myth.

After battling Alain and parting ways with Ash and his group, Terrance and Akon headed straight toward the summit of Kalos, advancing toward the land close to the sky.

Linyin Town was a small town nestled at the base of that mountain range. [TN: I can’t find the english name of this town, either its a novel original town or a spelling mistake by the author. If I have more context in the later Chapters, I will fix it.]

When Terrance and Akon arrived there, they suddenly stopped in their tracks.

"Mismagius."

Terrance went to an open area, tossed out Mismagius’s Poké Ball, and the eerie figure of Mismagius immediately appeared before him and Akon.

"Have you completely digested that power?"

Sensing activity from Mismagius, Terrance released it at once, speaking with pleasant surprise.

"It’s only been two or three days. My reasoning was right after all," Akon said with a proud smile.

"Mismagius" Mismagius nodded in response to Terrance.

"Not bad." Terrance smiled slightly. With this, Mismagius now ranked as his second-strongest Pokémon overall.

Being able to constantly absorb that fear energy, Mismagius must’ve put in considerable effort, not wasting a single moment.

"Let’s verify the data!!" Akon suggested.

From the outside, Mismagius didn’t appear to have changed much, but both Akon and Terrance knew that once it had fully absorbed that energy, its strength would undergo a qualitative transformation.

That kind of transformation would surely result in a significant boost in Mismagius’s power.

"Sure, but before that, let’s deal with the trouble in front of us." Terrance perked up his ears. He had already picked up some commotion.

"Help!!!"

Sure enough, in the next moment, two reporter-like individuals—a man and a woman—ran out from the forest.

The two were in a frantic panic, running in an extremely awkward manner, while behind them, a swarm of Beedrill were chasing fiercely, brandishing their twin needles.

"Mismagius, teach them a lesson....no, let them have a taste," Terrance said.

Mismagius nodded upon hearing the command, then floated higher and began chanting an incantation.

Upon hearing the incantation, the Beedrill’s expressions changed all at once. Their eyes almost popped out, and even their antennae began twitching uncontrollably.

It was as if they had encountered something utterly terrifying, unable to breathe, spinning madly on the spot as if undergoing something excruciatingly painful.

Whoosh.

In just a few moments, the Beedrill fled in a panic, unwilling to stay a second longer. The look in their eyes as they escaped was one of utter despair.
