Rustle rustle~~
As Terrance and Altaria descended and walked through the grass on the ground, a mysterious ancient ruin appeared before their eyes.
The broken ruins nestled among the green trees radiated an ancient aura, yet also gave off a sense of vibrant life.
At the end of the cave was an open area, also overgrown with plants. From the cave’s position, there was a path that led directly to a circular area surrounded by a lake.
“Uh…”
In the center of the circular area stood the statue of the maiden, balancing on one leg and reaching forward, but this was not the reason Terrance was shocked.
He had already seen the maiden statue in the photos taken by the Rotom Pokédex.
What shocked him was the Pokémon lying silently in front of the statue—a blue and black deer-like creature!
“Xerneas!” Terrance blurted out.
It really was here. Miss Olympia’s prophecy was completely accurate.
As Terrance approached, Xerneas slowly stood up. The rest of its body was black, with a blue stripe along its spine, ending at the small, fluffy black tail. Its limbs ended in forward-curving, hook-shaped hooves, the main “edges” of which, like its antlers, were beige in color.
Staring at Xerneas’s antlers, Terrance had never seen anything so beautiful—eight branch-like antlers extended outward, each tip splitting into two prongs, adorned with brilliant protrusions in four colors: orange, red, purple, and sky blue. The colors on each side contrasted, resembling a work of art.
“Xerneas, I have something to ask of you!” Seeing Xerneas suddenly turn as if to leave, Terrance quickly shouted.
“Please wait! Even if you’re going to say no, please just stop for a moment, I beg you!”
At Terrance’s cry, Xerneas stopped walking and gazed at him with pupils shaped like the letter X.
“Human…” A deep female voice entered Terrance’s ears, startling him. He instinctively realized: it was Telepathy.
“Xerneas, I have a friend who lost his life force because of his Aura power. Is there any way to save him?” Terrance quickly voiced his question. But to his dismay, Xerneas clearly didn’t want to answer. It simply shook its head slightly, then continued on its way.
As the Pokémon with the power to grant life, is it that Xerneas does not want to interfere in human affairs, or is it simply powerless?
Terrance looked bitter, but he couldn’t just watch Xerneas leave. He still had questions left unasked.
“Xerneas, please wait just a moment longer. I heard that you possess the ability to control Fairy Aura. Please take a look at this!” Terrance took out his Mega Ring and brushed the Key Stone, directly initiating Mega Evolution right in front of Xerneas.
Altaria took to the skies, a brilliant light enveloping its entire body. As the Mega Evolution completed, Altaria summoned its totem aura, and a mysterious pink energy instantly began to swirl around it.
Xerneas, who had intended to leave, stopped in its tracks once more.
Its deep eyes remained fixed on the Mega Altaria for a long time, or rather, on the mysterious aura surrounding Mega Altaria.
“Fairy Aura…” Once again, Xerneas’s telepathy echoed in the ears of Terrance and Altaria. At Xerneas’s response, Terrance’s face lit up with joy.
As expected… Xerneas recognized that aura.
After gazing at Mega Altaria for a long while, Xerneas turned its attention to Terrance.
More specifically, to the Mega Ring in Terrance’s hand.
The next moment, the color of Xerneas’s antlers quickly shifted from light blue to multicolored, and dazzling spots instantly appeared on its back.
With that change, under Terrance’s astonished look, the Mega Ring suddenly flew out of his hand toward Xerneas.
Crack!
Hearing the sound of something breaking, Terrance’s eye twitched, and he suddenly felt a wave of pain.
Mega Ring…broke??
At that moment, Terrance felt an urge to cough up blood. Though this high-tech Mega Ring had serious side effects, it didn’t just enhance Mega Evolution, it had also been enchanted by Tapu Koko to allow use of a Fairy-type Mini-Z Move. Such a precious bracelet….
Terrance began to regret coming to find Xerneas. Thankfully, the Key Stone inside hadn’t been destroyed along with the Mega Ring, otherwise, Terrance might truly have considered jumping off a cliff.
“Human, this bracelet, where did the aura on it come from?” Xerneas turned its gaze away from the shattered Mega Ring and looked toward Mega Altaria. As it released a pulse of energy, Mega Altaria was instantly forced out of its Mega Evolution state, and the Fairy Aura around it reverted to its original totem aura.
Faced with Xerneas, Terrance was slightly stunned: “From Alola.”
“Can you tell me the details?”
Terrance glanced at the shattered Mega Ring floating in midair. It was obvious. Xerneas was deeply curious about the Z-energy system.
At Xerneas’s question, Terrance gradually calmed himself down and began explaining the matters of Alola.
“The Blinding One…” Xerneas looked up at the sky and said, “A being from another world?”
“To possess such terrifying energy… is its existence a blessing or a curse for this world…?”
Xerneas’s thoughts churned. From the Z Ring and Totem Aura, it sensed a powerful fundamental energy, a force that made it feel inferior without even realizing it.
What was even more alarming was that, under the influence of this power, Mega Altaria, whose ability was Pixilate, had somehow mastered its unique Fairy Aura!
Although Mega Altaria’s Fairy Aura was still in its early stages and couldn’t be wielded like Xerneas’s own, it was enough for Xerneas to pay close attention to what Terrance had called “The Blinding One.”
