Chapter 656: Visiting Anistar Gym
"We... made it back?"
Looking around at the familiar surroundings, although there didn’t seem to be any major changes, the dizzy feeling in their heads made Terrance and Akon realize that under Celebi’s time-traveling power, they had probably returned to their own timeline.
"Rotom Pokédex!"
Terrance rubbed his aching body and called for the Rotom Pokédex.
"Received, Roto!!"
Hearing Terrance’s call, Rotom Pokédex instantly understood what its Trainer wanted it to do and immediately connected to the network to begin checking.
"Search complete. The current time is League Calendar Year 214, exactly one month after we traveled through time."
"We’re finally back. But where’s Celebi?!" Akon stood up, looked around, and asked in confusion.
"Celebi..."
Terrance looked around, but after bringing them back, Celebi had once again disappeared without a trace.
"Let it be. A Pokémon with such incredible powers isn’t something we Trainers can hope to possess."
"Being able to experience a time-travel journey with it was already incredibly lucky. Now, it should return to the life it’s meant to live."
While sorting his backpack, Terrance let out a small sigh.
"Teacher Teresa once speculated that after a long span of time, nature would give birth to a Celebi. And once it grows strong enough to master the powers of time and space, it would enter the long river of time to help maintain its stability..." Akon said, "Could this Celebi be a newly born one?"
"Who knows." Terrance chuckled.
The two didn’t speak further. Only about ten minutes later, as they were preparing to descend the mountain, they heard someone calling out to them.
Shortly after returning to this timeline, Terrance had asked Rotom Pokédex to send out a message, notifying some acquaintances.
Being missing for a whole month had surely made many people worry.
"Terrance, Akon!!"
Several people came running out from the forest. Teachers from Crown Academy and police who had been taking shifts guarding the Annapurna mountain range during the past month rushed over as soon as they received the news.
"Teacher Issac..."
Seeing who it was, Terrance and Akon both breathed a sigh of relief. After being missing for such a long time, returning to their own timeline gave them a deep sense of ease, like finally coming home.
...
Kalos Region, Lumiose City.
Terrance and Akon didn’t share much about their experience. Terrance met with Researcher Stuart of this timeline, who seemed to know far more about Teacher Teresa than Terrance had expected.
"So that means there’s a Teacher Teresa in this timeline too, and she’s probably not much older than me?" Terrance gave a wry smile.
After returning to a human city, Terrance checked in with his friends to let them know he was safe.
Of course, the reactions he received varied.
Some were worried, some curious, and some even blamed him.
With Terrance and Akon’s return, the incident could be considered perfectly resolved. Akon was taken back to Kanto by his father, and the two teachers from Crown Academy who had stayed behind also returned to Sinnoh.
As for Terrance, he temporarily gave up the idea of returning to Hoenn.
In the future timeline, he had Rotom Pokédex record a vast amount of information, including data that had yet to be discovered or verified in the current time.
These things were the most valuable gains from Terrance’s journey.
"This includes some yet-to-be-documented moves, Abilities, as well as systematic summaries of Fairy-type Pokémon and moves. These are results that many researchers would spend the next few years working hard to develop. Now that I’ve obtained them early, I can stay one step ahead in terms of knowledge."
Terrance had no intention of hoarding this knowledge. First, that kind of behavior wasn’t his style; and second, there was no guarantee that this data hadn’t already been researched in this timeline. Perhaps, like Mega Evolution, it simply hadn’t been made public yet.
If he gave in to greed, the next moment he might be slapped in the face with a complete set of data resulting from years of meticulous research by a group of researchers.
"Before returning to Hoenn, there’s something I need to do."
Terrance’s eyes gleamed with determination. He had two reasons for doing this: he wanted to visit Olympia and ask her some questions.
...
The next day, Terrance traveled from Lumiose City to Anistar City to visit the Anistar Gym.
After introducing himself as the Gym Leader of Fallarbor Gym in the Hoenn region, the Anistar Gym apprentice received Olympia’s permission and led Terrance into the Gym.
"Please come in. Lady Olympia is currently instructing the apprentices." After several turns, the Gym apprentice pushed open a door and led Terrance inside.
It was just an ordinary room, with a strange-patterned carpet in the center. Terrance, slightly confused, walked forward, but the moment he stepped onto the carpet, a loud buzz echoed, and the entire space around him seemed to shatter. Even though he had mentally prepared himself, Terrance was still startled by the sudden transformation before his eyes.
The previously ordinary room now appeared like the boundless cosmos. Stars glittered in all directions, and many Gym apprentices, glowing with a mysterious white light, were floating in the sky alongside their Pokémon, deep in meditation.
"This is—" Terrance was speechless, stunned by the scene in Anistar Gym. It was also a Gym, so why was theirs so outstanding?
Compared to Anistar Gym, his Fallarbor Gym really did feel like it belonged in the countryside.
"Do all these apprentices know psychic power and meditation methods?!" Terrance was amazed as he watched the Gym apprentices floating in midair, but he quickly dismissed the thought. "No... they’re flying using their Pokémon’s Confusion move. It’s not their own psychic power!"
After observing the expressions and actions of the airborne Pokémon, Terrance let out a sigh of relief. If every Gym apprentice here could use psychic power to fly, that would be far too outrageous.
After all, even with his exceptional talent and his long practice of meditation method, he couldn’t even manage basic object manipulation, let alone flight.
"Lady Olympia, Mr. Terrance has arrived." The Gym apprentice walked toward a high platform and respectfully reported.
Then, an eerie light flashed. Two Meowstic and a woman with an unusual purple hairstyle and a robe colored like the starry night floated into view. Her violet eyes seemed to contain the universe itself, causing Terrance to momentarily lose himself in them.
Activating his meditation method, Terrance quickly freed himself from her gaze.
"Welcome to Anistar Gym. I am Olympia, the Gym Leader of Anistar Gym."
"A guest from afar, may I ask the purpose of your visit?"
Terrance stepped forward. "Miss Olympia, there are some questions I would like to ask you. I wonder if we could speak in private."
