This was too laughable.
Upon hearing this, Roni felt no shock, nor disbelief. She simply found such remarks utterly ridiculous.
How could it be possible?
In the end, she was merely the daughter of a wealthy merchant, not a member of the royal family. Her life and death affected the Elton family, but could not shake the kingdom at all.
Rose’s sudden accusation felt overwhelming.

“It’s best you speak less of such jokes.”

“Sister Roni, you don’t need to disbelieve. Your life now determines the stability of our entire kingdom,” Rose whispered softly. “Do you know why the City Lord’s Mansion hasn’t moved against you for so long after Lu Xilide of Cloud Pavilion died?”
Roni remained silent.

Rose mentioned it too!
She would absolutely not let down her guard to admit, or indirectly confirm, that she was responsible for the Cloud Pavilion incident. No one could be certain that their current actions were meant to elicit evidence from Roni. Their delay in arresting her might simply be due to insufficient evidence.
Roni would not give them such an opportunity.
Seeing Roni’s silence, Rose smiled faintly.
“You can deny it, but everyone in the City Lord’s Mansion knows it was your group. Let me tell you, we in the City Lord’s Mansion have apprehended Lu Xilide’s escorts, and they have confessed to implicating you. You gave them a large sum of money, didn’t you?”
The moment she received this news, Roni’s hands trembled inexplicably.
The information matched.
This meant the escorts had indeed been captured.
It also meant that the City Lord’s Mansion now possessed sufficient evidence to prove their involvement.
“Don’t be afraid. This matter is actually no longer important,” Rose said, comforting her with a smile. “Lu Xilide’s death, and who was responsible, has been meaningless for several days now. In this kingdom, everyone is accustomed to lying. So, allow me to tell you some truths.”
“You are the focus of the entire kingdom.”
“When we first learned that Cloud Pavilion was your group’s doing, we considered arresting you, but the matter was suppressed.”

Does the entire Tatu Kingdom have blacksmiths in such numbers? How could our Elton family possibly have them?”
“The Elton family doesn’t, but others do.”
Rose smiled again. “I never said these equipments were made by your Elton family. Who can guarantee that there isn’t someone standing behind your family?”
Inadvertently, Roni thought of Chen Yu.
Chen Yu had been in close contact with her father lately. Despite his city-state being so barren, his internal combat personnel were equipped with extremely fine gear.
Even the main city might not possess such refined equipment.
