Chapter 34 Magic

The goddess, finding no clue, shook her head to dispel her chaotic thoughts, her pupils blooming with a hazy white light. Her eyes, transcending the river of fate, cast their gaze downward. Suddenly, a vortex stirred on the calm river, disrupting the goddess's search.

Tykhe pondered for a long time, until Selene's chariot returned to the mountain temple, and the figures of daylight and dawn appeared in the sky. Kanna, now clear-headed, leaped from the water. The handsome youth whistled, and a white horse with golden reins spread its wings and flew before him. The youth mounted the white horse and flew to the sky to guide the sun chariot, thus awakening Tykhe from her contemplation. She watched the grown wind god disappear into the mist.

Gazing for a long time in the direction the wind god had vanished, Tykhe had a sudden inspiration and immediately understood the profound meaning of the divine position bestowed by Theia. Taking out the crystal stars gifted by the prophecy goddess Phoebe, the small crystal ball rose into the sky in Tykhe's hand, hanging high in the north and shining brightly.

Astrea, the owner of the stars, and Tykhe regarded each other as sisters, generously adding brilliance to this star, making it the brightest. Kanna immediately sensed his mother's gift. The divine position of direction merged with the authority of this star, and the divine position of the North Star was thus born.

Exchanging a smile with Astrea, who revealed her presence in the celestial realm, Tykhe turned and returned to the temple. Uranus's time of awakening was drawing nearer, and the anomalies in the sky domain were becoming more frequent, consuming all of Tykhe's energy. The rainbow goddess's figure flickered in and out of the mist, her illusory divine power spreading within the mist, carefully guarding the slumbering chief god.

Entering the sky domain, Tykhe carefully surveyed the area, finally relieved to confirm that Gaia's consciousness had been withdrawn from Ouranos's body. The sky god's massive body trembled slightly, bound by chains formed by the divine power of Mount Ouranos. The brilliance in Tykhe's eyes flickered. After a few rotations of the dice in her hand, golden runes appeared. Her fingers gently brushed the ruby on her necklace, and the tendrils of the magic net stealthily approached the slumbering giant god. Tykhe waved her hand gently, summoning mist to cloud the giant god's senses, and the invisible tendrils pierced the giant god's body, greedily absorbing the sky's divinity and divine power.

Having absorbed energy from the Chaos Sea for a long time, the damaged magic net had recovered some of its power. It was a rare opportunity to encounter a gift that offered no resistance. It could not only keep Uranus perpetually weakened but also repair the magic net, a truly win-win situation. To the unknowing gods, the anomalies in the sky were due to Uranus's power beginning to revive. Who would have thought this was the sky god's death throes!

If it weren't for the concern of creating an uncontainable anomaly by slaying a primal deity, Uranus would have long been drained into an empty shell by Tykhe! To avoid Gaia's notice, Tykhe carefully controlled the absorption rate of the magic net, devouring Uranus's power step by step. Even so, the cumulative effect over time was quite considerable. The sky domain occupied by Tykhe had far surpassed Uranus's, a result that had already drawn the attention of the gods! Fortunately, Kanna's appearance provided Tykhe with a plausible excuse. The divine position of wind also had the potential to become a middle-tier divinity. With the favor of the world consciousness, achieving such results was understandable.

Taking advantage of Uranus's renewed weakness, Tykhe fiercely bit off another piece of Uranus's domain. Even if the sky god immediately awoke, he would not be able to retain the rank of a powerful divinity. Being able to retain a middle-tier divinity was already Tykhe showing mercy. The origin of the sky gradually leaned towards the newly arrived Tykhe, and the further perfection of the climate domain added to Tykhe's advantage. The damaged sky divinity had long since become complete, showing signs of breaking through to middle-tier divinity. The cautious Tykhe suppressed the urge to break through. The current situation was too chaotic; it was best not to be the first to stick out. Moreover, her own foundation was too weak; she had been born the most recently among the middle-tier divinities. To advance further to become a powerful divinity might attract covetous glances.

Having decided to quietly amass wealth, Tykhe withdrew the well-fed magic net and returned to her body. Uranus, whose power was constantly being siphoned, had an increasingly low chance of awakening.

Waking up from her coral bed, Tykhe immediately summoned her handmaidens. Two rainbow goddesses led the tree nymphs, forming two lines and entering the temple to offer fine wine and fruits to the chief god. Satisfied, Tykhe fiddled with the ruby transformed from the magic net, examining the legacy left to her by the magic goddess within the magic net.

The invisible network spread across the islands and mist, and the explosive elemental forces were immediately organized and calmed by the magic net. The magical civilization of the Faerun world was so brilliant. The arcanists meticulously divided magic into eight schools: the Abjuration school for protective magic; the Conjuration school for summoning research; the Divination school for observation and prophecy; the Evocation school for channeling energy; the Enchantment school for influencing minds and creating weapons; the Illusion school for deceiving senses; the Necromancy school for manipulating life and death; and the Transmutation school for altering attributes. They had profound attainments in each school, with many spells that even deities marveled at.

The myriad of wondrous spells was dazzling, and Tykhe couldn't help but sigh at the brilliance and power of magical civilization. Hecate, the yet-to-be-born goddess of witchcraft and necromancy, held a high status, which was inextricably linked to her being the sole magic deity, indicating the immense power of magic. Unfortunately, Hecate's magic remained in the primitive and ancient stage of witchcraft, unlike the systematic and formalized learning process in the Faerun world, which was more like a combination of sorcerers and priests.

Granting low-level access to the magic net to her handmaidens, they curiously used magical tricks to change the color of flowers and animate ropes, marveling at their chief god's power. The rainbow goddesses, who shared the divine position of illusion, had a natural control over illusionary magic, conjuring various mirages in the mist, igniting the tree nymphs' passion for learning magic.

And the spiritual power fed back to the magic net with each use of magic further promoted the magic net's healing. The world consciousness surged with excitement, and Tykhe rightfully obtained the magic divine position nurtured from the primal force. The power of magic surged in Tykhe's hands. Tykhe gazed deeply at the magic divine position in her hand. Accepting this divine position would elevate her to a powerful divinity, an irresistible temptation for any deity. Unmoved, Tykhe did not, as before, merge the divine position into her divine fire but preserved it within the ruby formed by the magic net.

The power of the magic net was confined to Tykhe's territory, protecting the invisible island like an iron barrel.

As the sun set, Kanna returned to the island. The power of the tracking divine position accelerated the youth's growth. After only one day apart, Kanna seemed to have grown again. The youth's handsome features had become more defined, his brown hair was messily curled, and only his friendly eyes remained as usual.

The youth happily showed Tykhe his newly acquired gift, "His Highness Helios gave me a silver bow. The arrows shot from it fly with incredible speed. I killed a lion with it on my first hunt!"

"But I sacrificed that lion to His Highness Helios," Kanna said, scratching his head a little sheepishly. "Next time, I will sacrifice more prey to you. I originally found a black panther today, but unfortunately, it hid in the forest and escaped."

Listening to Kanna's incessant chatter, Tykhe smiled gently, the void in her heart slowly filling.
