Chapter 121 An Acquaintance

In fact, Tycha believed the elven pantheon should be more concerned about the Spider Queen's ascension.

From the fact that the drow could always receive Lolth's favor by sacrificing surface elves, it could be seen that the Spider Queen hated Corellon Larethian the most. And the elven chief god's attitude towards his ex-wife was also very intriguing. When Eilistraee was expelled from the elven sacred land of Avernus, Corellon, for some unknown reason, did not kill her.

Eilistraee soon ascended to godhood again in Lolth's name. When she had not yet regained her strength and was still weak, Corellon still did not make a move.

But now it was different. Lolth, having become a powerful deity, was no longer someone Corellon could turn a blind eye to.

The avatar of Eilistraee once again arrived in Tycha's divine realm. As expected, the Dark Maiden brought an invitation from the elven chief god, Corellon.

The divine realms of the elven gods were closely connected, forming the sacred land of Avernus. This plane, composed of divine realms, was adjacent to the Plane of Chaos and maintained a certain cooperation with the nature pantheon.

Tycha had expected only the elven gods to accompany her. Upon arriving in Avernus, she saw the figures of Chauntea and Silvanus.

The purposes of the three powerful deities were not the same. Lolth's influence was concentrated in the Underdark, and she had no substantial conflict with Chauntea and Silvanus. These two would not oppose the Spider Queen for the sake of their friendship with Corellon. Lolth was a formidable figure who could make even demon lords unable to gain an advantage when she was at her lowest. The demon lords avoided the semi-independent planar rift of the Abyss, the Demonweb, out of fear of the Spider Queen. Her reputation was earned through genuine battles.

As the hosts and guests took their seats, Corellon once again persuaded Eilistraee to return to Avernus, but the Dark Maiden refused again.

Tycha tactfully left the space for the father and daughter. Led by the elven goddess of love, Sune, she began to tour this beautiful divine realm.

The artistic attainments of the elves were far superior to those of humans. Many cities in human kingdoms were left behind by the elves when they ruled the Material Plane.

When she reached the garden under the waterfall, Sune had already disappeared. Amidst the blooming flowers, Silvanus, the chief god of the nature pantheon, the Oak Father, had already been waiting there at some point.

"Goddess of Benevolence, can you answer a question for me?"

Silvanus, appearing as a youth in green robes, wore a crown woven from oak branches and leaves, adorned with golden moss. Seeing Tycha nod, he did not beat around the bush and asked directly, "The spirits of nature serve you. Is your essence similar to mine?"

The phantom of the World Tree flickered, shining in contrast with the oak tree behind Silvanus.

The air rippled with waves of life, so abundant that the plants in the garden almost obscured the waterfall.

After extending an invitation to the Plane of Chaos, Silvanus hastily left Avernus.

"Lord Corellon, are you doing all this to ascertain my essence?"

Sune, who had disappeared midway, and Angrarth, who was holding back Chauntea, coupled with the gods being in the elven divine realm, could only be Corellon who had arranged this series of coincidences.

"Yes."

Corellon emerged from behind the dense flowers. "You brought back the missing goddess of magic, and we want to know her purpose in unleashing the world-ending crisis by indulging in the weave."

"But what does this have to do with my essence?"

Tycha was bewildered. Although she had managed to conceal herself with the aura of the World Tree, she remained vigilant. After all, Corellon had gone to such lengths, it was unlikely he was merely trying to determine her stance! And Corellon's stated desire to know the goddess of magic's purpose in causing the crisis, in Tycha's opinion, was also to be taken with a large grain of salt. If the elven chief god was unaware that Ao had blocked the possibility of powerful deities advancing further, then Selûne would not have thought of him first when Tycha proposed expanding the alliance.

"It has something to do with it," Corellon said meaningfully. "It has a great deal to do with it."

The World Tree, obscuring the sun and moon, stretched out its branches. Familiar runes flew from Corellon's hands.

Tycha's eyes widened, and she blurted out, "Rune magic!"

Corellon's eyes lit up with white light, and he transformed into Tycha's old acquaintance, Odin!

You old schemer!

Tycha almost cursed him out.

"I have been trapped in this world for a long time and have never shown my true face, but judging from your reaction, you know me."

Odin reverted to Corellon's appearance. "In my memories before I left my main body, you did not exist. But the aura of the World Tree is not fake; you have seen the main body!"

"We are very familiar with each other," Tycha smiled. Lin Xiang, her avatar, was still in Odin's main body's world. The tables have turned, and now Odin's avatar had fallen into her hands. Given their acquaintance, Tycha would not exploit him too harshly.

Gungnir appeared in her hand, confirming Tycha's familiarity with Odin.

"I cannot contact my main body!" Corellon said with a worried expression. "My original divinity was burned to ashes in the Sea of Chaos. After resealing myself as a god, I can no longer locate my main body."

"After all, you are a divine king, and you have reached the pinnacle of the gods."

Compliments were free, and although Tycha did not expect a few kind words to make this old schemer completely drop his suspicions, it could at least improve their relationship.

"When I was being pursued, I received help from a powerful being who guided me to this world."

This was the absolute truth, and Tycha spoke with full confidence. "You've also discovered it, haven't you! Ao has a problem!"

Odin's purpose in sending an avatar was clear. Since the end of Ragnarok was unavoidable, they might as well find a new world to move to.

"Except for Lathander, who is kept by Chauntea, and Sune, who has lost her ambition, all the powerful deities have their suspicions," Corellon said without concealment. "The laws of the world are not without the ability to fight back; the four elemental lords would not allow Ao to slaughter them at will."

"During the Cataclysm of the Saints, Ao only dared to strike down human deities to their divine realms. The elves, halflings, and dwarves were not affected, and even the orc gods, who were at odds with the pantheon of humans, remained in their divine realms. We all have trump cards that make Ao wary. Unless absolutely necessary, Ao would not be willing to suffer mutual destruction with us."

Corellon shook his head with a hint of disdain. "If it were the previous Ao, we would have definitely given up resistance and left this world! But the current Ao is not enough to make us surrender without a fight. After all, he is just a great god who has not yet transcended. As long as the laws do not recognize his rule, he cannot completely control this world and enter the supreme realm."

"Ao's sealing of the promotion paths for powerful deities undoubtedly places him in opposition to the gods. The gods have inherited the authority of the laws. If the gods cannot sincerely support him as their king, the laws will never recognize him!"
