“What did you say?!”
Jiang Rou’s composed expression vanished in an instant, completely replaced by shock.
She stared intently at the man before her, her gaze fixed on him.
“What do you mean? Explain yourself clearly!”
With just those words, she dared not shift her gaze even an inch.
Old Master Fu spoke in a deep voice, “She’s been hospitalized, but it’s not serious. You can go see her.”
“What’s going on? Why would she be hospitalized out of the blue!” Liang Min immediately stood up, ready to leave at any moment, though she wanted to understand the situation quickly.
“I’m not entirely clear on the specifics, but there aren’t any major issues. I’ll take you to see her now.” Old Master Fu’s expression was somewhat somber, and with that one sentence, he went to change his clothes.
Liang Min couldn’t afford to dwell on it, rising quickly and heading into the walk-in closet, as she also needed to change.
Both moved swiftly, and in a short while, they were in the car.
Seated in the back, Liang Min looked directly at Old Master Fu, her voice laced with anxiety. “Tell me quickly, what exactly happened? Yin Yin was fine, why is she hospitalized? What happened?”
Liang Min’s eyes were filled with worry.
Old Master Fu frowned, looking at her and speaking with a hint of helplessness. “If I’m telling you about this, it means her condition isn’t serious. Otherwise, I’d be afraid you’d worry. If she were in serious trouble, do you think I would tell you?”
Liang Min’s expression immediately turned displeased, but considering the logic, she finally relaxed slightly and asked again, “Then can you tell me what exactly happened? You’ve been talking about all these meaningless things for so long!”
“I’m not clear on the specifics. Si Ye didn’t tell me much. We’ll know once we go and ask.”
Liang Min frowned but ultimately said nothing more, as she could tell her old man truly didn’t know much.
After a pause, she shifted her gaze back to him. “Why are you being so kind today, bringing me out, and you even want to go see Yin Yin? Don’t you dislike her?”
Old Master Fu’s face was a little displeased, but he still spoke awkwardly, “I don’t like her, but I care about you more! Otherwise, why would I bring you to see her? Isn’t it because you’re feeling down? If you continue like this, you’ll get sick. You’re not as young as you used to be, do you still think you can act as recklessly as you please?”
He didn’t want to say more, his expression also quite unpleasant.
Liang Min frowned and pursed her lips, remaining silent.
It seemed Old Master Fu had a point.
Frowning, she looked at him again. “Later, when we go, you should leave. Don’t be an eyesore inside.”
“You…!” Old Master Fu’s face grew even more displeased. “I’ve already brought you here, which proves I’ve made a significant concession! What more do you want?”
Liang Min was so angry she almost laughed. “Are you kidding me? If you continue to stay here, how can I talk with Yin Yin? Will Yin Yin feel free?”
“You…” Old Master Fu was truly somewhat helpless, but considering their previous cooperation, he ultimately sighed and said, “I won’t target her like I used to. They’re divorced now, what else can I say? Are you thinking too highly of me?”
Liang Min frowned, scrutinizing the person beside her. Years of marriage had clearly made her sense something was amiss. She spoke in a low voice, “Are you hiding something from me?”
Old Master Fu frowned. “What could I be hiding from you?”
As he spoke, he seemed to glare at Liang Min, but Liang Min could sense his unease even more. When he was guilty, his words became off. Liang Min immediately grabbed his arm and asked in a low voice, “Tell me, you definitely have something going on. Do you have some ulterior motive? Otherwise, why would you be so kind as to tell me about Yin Yin’s situation?!”
“I was acting out of kindness, out of concern for you!”
“You’re spouting nonsense!” Liang Min was so angered she directly cursed.
She looked at him coldly, speaking irritably. “Are you looking at Yin Yin as the Dragon Head of Starry Group now, and you’ve started having other ideas about her! You’re not thinking about them remarrying, are you!”
Remarrying.
She deliberately emphasized those two words.
Old Master Fu’s expression immediately grew more displeased. “Don’t talk nonsense!”
Seeing his obvious guilt, Liang Min was momentarily speechless. “You really are!! How could you be so excessive!!!”
Although she desperately wished for the two of them to remarry, she didn’t want it to happen in this manner!
She was truly angry. How could the old man do something like this?
“Alright, don’t go thinking wildly. There’s none of what you’re saying.” Old Master Fu’s brows were tightly knitted. He genuinely had no plans for them to remarry for now. After all, they could still pick and choose later. While Starry Group had grown quickly and was developing well, it was still somewhat lacking compared to the Fu Corporation.
“You’re not allowed inside later!” The old madam stared at him intently, her meaning evident. Her voice was even particularly forceful.
Old Master Fu spoke irritably, “Fine, fine, I’ll go out later. But you can’t let Mu Yin Yin know that I don’t favor her, can you?”
“You don’t favor her to begin with, do you need her to know that separately?” Liang Min’s retort was immediate and without hesitation. The old man’s mouth suddenly opened. “You…”
With just that one word, he suddenly didn’t know what to say.
“She’s been in our family for so many years, I didn’t approve of her, and Fu Si Ye didn’t approve of her either. She’s always been very unhappy. If she knows that I approve of her now, do you think she’ll feel a little better? Will this be more beneficial for her condition?”
Liang Min: “???”
She was once again amused to the point of exasperation. “You really do have an ulterior motive. Having me come here is just an excuse to fulfill your goal!”
“Nonsense! Is my affection for you all fake?!” The old man was clearly angered, his expression becoming even more terrifying.
“I can’t be bothered to talk to you!” Liang Min finished speaking, not looking at Old Master Fu, nor wanting to hear him say another word.
Old Master Fu snorted coldly and didn’t bother talking to Liang Min anymore. The car became quiet, and the driver’s ears finally found some peace.
However, he was their dedicated driver and had grown accustomed to the two of them arguing like this.
An hour later, the car finally stopped slowly in front of the hospital entrance.
