On the second floor, in Qin Siye's bedroom, Yin Xi had just helped him lie down on the bed. As she was about to get up to pour him a glass of water, the man grabbed her arm.
“Xixi, you know everything?”
Yin Xi immediately understood what he was asking about. “Mm.”
“Zhao Ze told you?” Qin Siye stared at her intently.
“No. I figured it out myself.” Yin Xi replied immediately. “It was too dangerous for you to go and capture them yourself. You know how wicked they are and what they're capable of.”
“It's precisely because I understand them so well that I had to be involved personally. Otherwise, how could I bring them to justice?” Qin Siye continued thoughtfully. “I’ve had enough of them. This time, I've decided to eradicate them completely and never give them a chance to rise again.”
“Didn't your aunt say it could be resolved with money?” Yin Xi asked.
“She’s not my aunt. I severed ties with her just a few minutes ago.” Qin Siye’s gaze turned cold. “That was just her wishful thinking. As long as I put in a word, no amount of money could save them.”
After ensuring Qin Siye was resting, Yin Xi went downstairs to give Xu Zhilan acupuncture. They returned to Star Blue Bay after lunch at the Qin family residence.
As soon as they got out of the car, the children ran towards Qin Siye, wanting to hug him. Yin Xi, afraid of worrying them, hadn't told them about Qin Siye's injury. When she went home to get clothes that day, she had only said she was going on a business trip.
Yin Xi immediately stepped forward to block them. “Stop. Daddy is injured. Don’t touch him.”
The three children halted immediately, looking at their daddy with teary eyes. Chenchen asked, “Daddy, who did this? I want to get revenge.”
Qin Siye smiled and replied, “No need. The bad guys have all been caught.”
Shuoshuo blinked his big eyes and looked at him. “Daddy, why didn't you let the bodyguards handle it? Why did you do it yourself?”
Qin Siye replied casually, “The situation was urgent, and everyone was busy.”
Yanyan, the youngest and a girl, couldn't hold back her tears, and they slowly flowed down. Sobbing, she walked to Qin Siye, took his hand, and asked with concern, “Daddy, does it hurt a lot?”
Qin Siye affectionately raised his other hand and ruffled her hair. “It’s okay. This injury is nothing to me. I just won’t be able to hold you for a while.”
Upon hearing this, the three children looked at each other and replied in unison, “It’s okay, Daddy. We'll grow up slower. It's not too late to be held when you're fully recovered.”
Yin Xi couldn't help but be amused by their words. She smiled and said, “Alright, you three. Stop talking. Daddy can’t stand for too long, let’s go inside.”
As Yin Xi helped Qin Siye to the entrance of the villa's main hall, the maid, A Zhen, walked out. Seeing them, she respectfully stood aside.
“Sir, Miss Yin.”
“Mm.” Yin Xi replied with a single syllable, a hint of doubt in her eyes. She recalled Steward Liu reporting that A Zhen had been transferred to the yard to manage the greenery and care for the two rabbits. She wondered why she was back in the villa.
A Zhen also seemed to understand her expression and quickly said, “Miss Yin, I just had something to report to Sister Li.”
Qin Siye couldn’t help but glance at her.
“Oh. Then you may go about your business.” Yin Xi nodded, then pushed the door open with Qin Siye.
Upon reaching the third-floor bedroom, Yin Xi paused and asked, “Do you want to rest on the bed?”
“No need. Didn’t you rest at the old house? It’s just a minor injury, you don’t need to be so nervous.” Qin Siye held her hand and walked towards the sofa. “That maid just now, she used to work for the Lu family?”
Hearing this, Yin Xi immediately understood that Steward Liu had already informed him about the matter. She replied softly, “Yes.”
“Then why did you agree to keep her? You could have just let her go.” Qin Siye looked at her, puzzled. Hiring a new person was simple, why keep someone with a problematic history? Was it really because of her family situation? But given Yin Xi's deep hatred for the Lu family, she shouldn't have done that. There must be another reason.
Yin Xi was taken aback by his question and wasn’t sure whether to share her suspicions with him. After a moment of thought, she replied, “Based on my intuition, A Zhen’s character should be fine. When I kept her during her most difficult time, she would be even more grateful to us and work wholeheartedly to maintain Star Blue Bay.”
