Chapter 565 Sneaking a Look

Shen Xi's face turned ashen, her body trembling slightly. Just as she was about to cry out for help, her mouth was gently covered by the person above her, and Qin Si Ye's voice came from above.

"Don't shout, it's me."

She looked up and then pushed him away forcefully.

"What are you doing? Trying to scare me to death?"

Qin Si Ye stumbled back a step. Shen Xi then remembered his leg injury and quickly reached out to steady him.

The man took the opportunity to pull her into his embrace again. "Why are you so nervous? We're in our own neighborhood, are there really any bad guys around?"

"Who knows who lives here," Shen Xi glared at him and whispered, "Why did you suddenly run over here? Aren't you afraid Si Yue and Grandma will see you?"

Qin Si Ye glanced in the direction of his home, then took her hand and led her to the alley between Villa No. 2 and Villa No. 3.

"I just wanted to come and see you. You said you'd contact me later at the airport this afternoon, but you haven't called me once until now."

Shen Xi frowned. "I went out to do some errands this afternoon. After dinner, I went to your house to give Grandma acupuncture. I didn't have time to call you."

"But I waited for you all afternoon and all evening. If I didn't contact you, would you have forgotten about it?" Qin Si Ye tightened his grip on her hand, his expression a little displeased.

"No. I was just planning to contact you after I finished giving Grandma acupuncture and was on my way home." Shen Xi said this sincerely; it was truly what she intended.

Upon hearing this, Qin Si Ye's expression finally improved slightly.

Shen Xi withdrew her hand and looked up at him. "Why are you looking for me so urgently? Is something wrong?"

Qin Si Ye smiled and replied, "Actually, it's nothing much. At first, I just wanted to ask you, are you coming to Xing Lan Wan tonight?"

"Isn't Yin Zhe there? And you don't need to change your dressing today either," Shen Xi said, slightly confused.

Her implication was that she had no plans to go there tonight.

"But your clothes are still there," Qin Si Ye's eyes flickered a few times, and he added.

He felt he had found the best reason for Shen Xi to go there.

Shen Xi's expression remained unchanged. "I have clothes to wear. You can leave those sets there for now. I'll pick them up in a few days."

"A few days? You mean you won't be coming tomorrow either?" Qin Si Ye became a little anxious upon hearing her nonchalant words.

"I'll see about tomorrow," Shen Xi replied with an ambiguous statement.

She had an important matter to attend to tomorrow and couldn't be sure if she would have time to go.

The next moment, Qin Si Ye pulled her into his arms. "I knew it. As soon as you came back, you wouldn't care about me anymore. If I had known this would happen, we could have arranged for Jian Fan and Zhao Ze to handle the report on Lu Huai'an. We wouldn't have come back early."

Why was this man sometimes like a child, with regret, grievance, and complaint all appearing at once?

"Alright, alright, don't come over like this again next time. I promise I'll make time to visit you once every day until the stitches on your leg are removed, is that okay?" Shen Xi gently pushed him away, saying with a serious expression.

"That's more like it," Qin Si Ye's lips curved slightly. "But if you want me to believe you, you need to show me something."

"Show you what?" Shen Xi asked, puzzled.

Qin Si Ye raised his eyebrows. "Kiss me."

"No. What if someone sees us?" Shen Xi glanced towards the north end of the alley and couldn't help but step back.

Qin Si Ye stretched out his long arm and suddenly pulled her back towards him. "So what if they see? Besides, there's no one here. Hurry up, or I'm not leaving."

Helpless, Shen Xi had to stand on her tiptoes and place a fleeting kiss on his cheek.

Just as she was about to pull away, the man's other hand suddenly cupped the back of her head, capturing her cherry-like lips.

After a passionate embrace, he finally released her, satisfied.

"You should go back now. I'm leaving."

Shen Xi, panting, watched his slowly receding back and called out, "How did you get here?"

"Took a taxi," Qin Si Ye looked back at her, his eyes smiling.

In the light, Shen Xi seemed to see a bright and handsome boy. The scene just now made her feel as if she were in her youth, on a date with a young man.

The next day, Shen Xi woke up very early. After breakfast, she called Xie Yifei.

"Yifei, are you up? I'm coming to your place now."

"No. I'll come to you. I'll be there in five minutes," Xie Yifei's voice was tinged with a hint of panic.
