Chapter 305 The Throb

Two people got into the car, and Chenchen quickly ran towards the seat that Shuoshuo had reserved for him.

Shen Xi looked around. Besides the seat by the window next to Qin Si Ye, all other places were occupied.

She had no choice but to walk over, and Qin Si Ye immediately stood up, letting her go in and sit inside.

Not long after she sat down, the car started. Qin Si Ye glanced at her and asked in a gentle voice, "Are you angry?"

"No," Shen Xi withdrew her gaze from the car window and glanced at him. "I just feel a bit embarrassed to do this, wasting Mr. Qin's time."

Qin Si Ye's lips curved into a smile. He knew she was not telling the truth.

She was clearly upset.

If she genuinely felt embarrassed, would she be so indifferent to him?

"This event is quite special, and it's not easy for the children. Plus, what the doctor said yesterday, I was worried you might be too tired taking care of the three of them alone, so I agreed to accompany you."

Qin Si Ye explained in earnest to dispel her anger.

Unexpectedly, Shen Xi found a loophole. "When did they tell you about this?"

Upon hearing this, Qin Si Ye was startled. This woman was too sharp.

They had gone to the hospital yesterday afternoon, and the children had not seen him alone after returning.

How could they have discussed this matter, leading him to decide to accompany them to this event?

Qin Si Ye's eyes flickered a few times as he said, "They told me when they were playing soccer yesterday morning. At first, I was afraid you would be unhappy, so I didn't agree.

Only after returning from the hospital did I make this decision."

He absolutely could not tell her that Chenchen had already invited him via WeChat on Friday evening, and he had agreed immediately.

This was an excellent opportunity to spend time with them, and he would have come no matter what.

Fortunately, fate was on his side. The doctor's instructions at the hospital yesterday provided him with the perfect excuse to tag along.

"And now you're not afraid of me being unhappy?" Shen Xi glared at him with a hint of anger in her eyes.

What angered her now was not that he had come along, but that they had conspired to keep it from her. She felt like an idiot, being led around by them, and that feeling made her very uncomfortable.

"Rather than your health, I would choose to make you unhappy for a while."

Qin Si Ye looked at her with eyes full of tenderness, not blinking.

"If you get tired, and it affects the vaccine's antibodies, you might need booster shots or even experience other adverse reactions. How heartbroken would I be then?"

A warm current instantly surged through Shen Xi, flowing slowly to her limbs. She quickly turned her gaze out the window, not daring to meet his eyes.

She feared that if she continued to look at him like this, she would completely fall for his deep affection.

Lately, for some reason, her heart was not as hard as it was at the beginning. A single sentence or action from him would always stir an uncontrollable flutter within her.

Qin Si Ye knew he had completely convinced her and a captivating smile bloomed on his lips.

What made him happiest was that she hadn't gotten angry when he said he would "feel heartbroken."

He lowered his head, took out a bottle of water from the bag in front of him, and offered it to her. "Are you thirsty? Have some water."

"No, I'm not thirsty," Shen Xi replied indifferently, her small face still turned towards the window.

Qin Si Ye, however, felt a bit dry in the throat and immediately opened a bottle of purified water to drink.

At this moment, Yan Yan suddenly got up from the adjacent seat and ran over, asking in a soft, milky voice, "Daddy, Mommy, can I sit with you?"

Chenchen and Shuoshuo were sitting together, but she had been arranged by her teacher to sit with another boy in the class. They had nothing to talk about, and she felt bored.

Hearing this, Shen Xi's spirits instantly lifted. "Yes, you can. Come here, let Mommy hold you."

With the child present, Qin Si Ye would surely restrain himself and not say such mushy things.

"Yan Yan, shall I hold you? Mommy can't be too tired," Qin Si Ye said, putting down the water and looking down at her as Yan Yan was about to walk inside.

"Okay, I love Daddy the most," Yan Yan exclaimed excitedly, extending her arms to him.

Qin Si Ye gently held Yan Yan on his lap and then looked at Shen Xi with a smiling gaze. "You need to take care of yourself. I'll do all the physical work today."
