Chapter 250 Entering His Room

"I am Shen Xi, the doctor who has been treating you and the adoptive mother of these three children.

Yin Xi is my cousin, and she is no longer with us. Furthermore, Yin Xi and Mr. Qin only dated for a short time back then and were never married, so it's impossible for them to have children," Shen Xi said to her with a serious expression.

Upon hearing this, the three children couldn't help but look up and exchange glances with Qin Si Ye. Their mother's ability to deliver such half-truths so naturally and fluently was astonishing.

Although Xu Zhilan found some of her words believable, she still looked perplexed. "Then where did these three children come from? Who is their mother?"

"I'm not sure either," Shen Xi replied, her gaze gentle, her face not blushing.

"But why do they look like a young Qin Si Ye?" Xu Zhilan frowned, her eyes lingering on Chen Chen and Shuo Shuo.

Chen Chen and Shuo Shuo also felt that their great-grandmother made a lot of sense. They had long noticed how much they resembled Uncle Qin.

Otherwise, Chen Chen wouldn't have gone to Uncle Qin's company with that jade bracelet as soon as he returned to the country.

"Grandma, that's just an illusion. Many boys look alike when they're young," Shen Xi quickly negated, dispelling her thoughts.

She wanted to make her believe it wasn't a real phenomenon.

"Oh, has my mind gone awry again?" Xu Zhilan's eyes showed a hint of sadness as she was finally pulled back from her confused thoughts.

"Shen Xi." Seeing his grandmother's expression, Qin Si Ye called out to her with concern, fearing that if Shen Xi continued to correct her, it would cause his grandmother more pain.

"It's alright." Shen Xi, however, glanced back at him with confidence. "You take the children aside to play for a while. I'll give Grandma acupuncture."

With her timely correction today, Grandma had immediately regained clarity, and her mind didn't continue to get confused. This was a good sign.

She believed this phenomenon would become less frequent in the future.

Qin Si Ye took the three children to the dining table and started playing with Xu Zhilan's nine-section rings, occasionally making noises.

Fearing he might disturb his grandmother's treatment, he eventually took them upstairs.

Shortly after the silver needles were inserted into her head, Xu Zhilan fell into a peaceful sleep.

Twenty minutes later, Shen Xi removed them one by one and placed them in the medical kit. Xu Zhilan slowly opened her eyes, scanned the room, and asked in a low voice:

"No wonder it's so quiet. Where are the children?"

Shen Xi glanced towards the staircase. "Mr. Qin took them upstairs."

"They must be in his study. The westernmost room on the second floor," Xu Zhilan said with a smile.

"Oh." Shen Xi looked down at her wristwatch. It was getting late, and she had to take them back to rest.

She quickly stood up and headed upstairs.

Arriving at the study door on the second floor, she raised her hand and knocked twice. However, there was no response from inside.

She couldn't help but turn the doorknob and call out, "Chen Chen, it's time for us to go."

The door was quickly opened, but it was pitch black inside, and no one was there.

Just as Shen Xi was feeling puzzled, she heard a burst of laughter from the room on the east side.

"Uncle Qin, you're amazing!"

She quickly walked over and looked inside from the doorway.

She saw Qin Si Ye sitting on the sofa with Chen Chen and Shuo Shuo, happily playing a mobile game.

Yan Yan, however, was asleep on the side of the sofa.

This room was very large. It not only had a sofa, a television, and other furniture, but also a large bed. It was likely Qin Si Ye's bedroom.

How could he bring the children directly into his bedroom?

Had his germophobia automatically disappeared when it came to her and the children?

She had been standing at the doorway for quite some time, yet not a single one of them had noticed her. They were too engrossed in their game.

A hint of anger flared up on Shen Xi's face.

"Mr. Qin, how can you let the children play video games? It's very bad for their eyes, do you know that?"

"Ah?" Hearing her voice, Qin Si Ye quickly exited the game and stood up. "They're just some simple games, it shouldn't be a problem, right?"

"How can it not be a problem? Their eyesight is still developing. The fast-changing graphics in video games cause significant stimulation to the eyeballs. It's best not to play them." As Shen Xi spoke, she walked over, intending to pick up Yan Yan.

Qin Si Ye, however, was a step ahead of her and scooped Yan Yan into his arms. "I'll do it."

Shen Xi glared at him lightly and was about to take the child from his arms. To her surprise, Yan Yan reached out and wrapped her arms around Qin Si Ye's neck, murmuring, "Daddy."
