Chapter 480 Aftermath

"Why haven't you left yet?" Shen Xi looked at him in surprise. "They're already asleep, you should go back."

Han Haoming, however, remained standing, unwilling to leave.

"Han Haoming, there's no point in you staying here. Qin Si Ye won't let you see Si Yue. If anything happens, I'll call you," Shen Xi advised him earnestly.

"Alright. Thank you!" Han Haoming took two steps back and turned towards the main entrance.

Shen Xi watched him go, sighing helplessly.

She took out her phone and walked to the safety staircase to call Xu Zhilan.

"Hello? Grandma, you're still awake?"

Xu Zhilan's voice was full of worry. "I'm waiting for Si Ye's call. I don't know if he's found Si Yue yet."

"Grandma, don't worry, I was just about to tell you about this. Si Yue has been found. She just got drunk and is now sobering up in the hospital. I... Mr. Qin are here." Shen Xi quickly said.

Xu Zhilan's voice immediately shifted from worry to joy. "Really? That's great. I heard the man who took her was surnamed Han. Could it be the police officer Si Yue likes?"

Hearing this, Shen Xi couldn't help but be surprised. So Grandma knew about it too. It seemed Si Yue hadn't kept it a secret from her.

"Yes. It's him. Si Yue and some friends had too much to drink, she was dizzy and vomiting. He's the one who brought Si Yue to the hospital."

Xu Zhilan chuckled, "That's good. This Officer Han is a really nice person. Perhaps he likes our Si Yue too. You must thank him properly."

"Okay. I understand. Grandma, you should get some rest. Everything is fine now." Shen Xi said guiltily, then hung up the phone.

She thought to herself: Thank him? Your grandson almost beat him to a pulp.

In the interrogation room of the Nancheng Branch Bureau, Han Haoming walked in with a cold expression. He saw two men crouching by the wall and, without hesitation, kicked each of them.

The two men cried out in pain and fell to the ground.

Han Haoming grabbed the taller man, his fist clenched and about to strike his face, when Zou He quickly stepped forward to intercept his arm.

"Captain Han, calm down. This is the police station."

Han Haoming paused slightly, then slowly released his grip. The man's legs went weak, and he slumped back down with a thud.

"Captain Han, this is the result of our interrogation just now. Please take a look." At this moment, another police officer walked over and handed him a stack of interrogation materials.

Han Haoming took it and carefully read through it from beginning to end.

Zou He, standing beside him, said, "These two are repeat offenders. They've been responsible for several drug-facilitated assaults in bars recently."

Hearing this, Han Haoming's heart skipped a beat, and cold sweat broke out on his back.

According to their confessions, these two had drifted into K City from another city a month ago. They had an unexplained income and frequented major bars and night markets daily.

They often presented themselves as wealthy businessmen, targeting beautiful women and challenging them to drinking contests. While pouring drinks, they would drop a stupefying drug from their rings, causing the women to fall unconscious and then commit indecent acts.

After reading, Han Haoming closed his eyes slightly, a chilling coldness sweeping over his body.

After a long moment, his body trembling slightly, he turned around, clenched his fists, and glared at the two scumbags on the ground with bloodshot eyes, saying coldly, "Detain them both and await severe legal punishment."

At the First People's Hospital, as soon as Shen Xi returned to the ward, Qin Si Ye turned to her and asked, "Why did you suddenly come to the hospital?"

"If I hadn't come, how would I have seen you beating Han Haoming?" Shen Xi gave him a playful glare and continued, "Grandma just told me on the phone that we should thank him properly."

"Thank him? Grandma said that because she doesn't know the full story. Don't you know either? Do you think I shouldn't have taught him a lesson?" Qin Si Ye's eyes were icy, and he looked at her questioningly.

"Although he made a mistake, he wasn't the main culprit in this incident.

Besides, he's the one who saved Si Yue and brought her here in time, so no bad consequences occurred. Can't his merits offset his demerits?" Shen Xi said softly.

Qin Si Ye still disagreed. He suddenly raised his voice, "He was the main culprit. If he hadn't been there, none of this would have happened."

"Alright, alright. I'm not arguing with you anymore. You're being unreasonable.

If you think your point is correct, then go catch up with him and beat him up soundly. This time, I won't stop you."

Shen Xi glanced at him, then lowered her head and sat on a stool, ignoring him.
