Chapter 150 Friday Express Delivery

What should be done now?

Last night, the two parted on bad terms. She couldn't possibly lower herself now and proactively call him to ask him to buy and send a cake for her children.

"How about this, if you really want to eat them, I'll go buy them myself," Shen Xi put away her phone and looked at the three children eagerly awaiting her. Her heart softened.

She had already noted down the name of the cake shop, and with navigation, she could find it quickly.

Chenchen, sensing her unease, quickly stopped her. "No need, Mommy. We just had a whim. We don't want them anymore. You don't need to go out of your way for this."

Shuoshuo and Yanyan looked at him confused. Hadn't the three of them just discussed wanting Uncle Qin to come over? Why had Chen Gege changed his mind?

"Alright," Shen Xi walked upstairs, her body weary, sighing inwardly that her three children had grown up and understood her.

As soon as Shen Xi left, the three little ones exchanged glances and ran into Chenchen's room together.

"Chen Gege, why did you say that just now? If you did, won't we get to see Uncle Qin?" Shuoshuo asked, bewildered, as soon as they entered the room and closed the door.

"Yes, Chen Gege. I kind of miss Uncle Qin," Yanyan said, her eyes slightly red as she looked at him.

Chenchen opened his tablet and looked up at them. "Don't you see? Mommy is in a bad mood today. She might have had a disagreement with Uncle Qin. I'm going to ask him."

Shuoshuo and Yanyan exchanged a look and stopped talking, walking over to his tablet.

"Uncle Qin, are you there?" Chenchen asked on WeChat.

Half a minute later, Qin Si Ye replied, "Yes, what's wrong?"

Chenchen quickly said, "We want to eat cake. Can you send it over?"

After a pause, Qin Si Ye sent back two questions.

"Why are you contacting me proactively this time?"

"Where is your mother?"

Chenchen thought for a moment and quickly replied, "Mommy seems to be in a bad mood and has gone to her room to rest."

Qin Si Ye asked, "Oh? Aren't you afraid she'll find out we're in contact privately?"

Chenchen didn't answer him but worriedly voiced his own question. "Did something happen between you and her?"

Qin Si Ye hesitated slightly, then replied with two words after more than ten seconds: "No."

He then typed out another message.

"Regarding the cake, I'll figure something out. However, I have something on tonight and can't deliver it personally."

Chenchen felt a bit disappointed but replied, "Okay. Same as before."

Forty minutes later, just as the family had finished dinner, the doorbell rang. Shuoshuo, seeing this, quickly slipped away to the bathroom on the first floor while Shen Xi wasn't paying attention.

Shen Xi went to open the door, only to see Zhao Ze standing outside, carrying three large cakes.

She looked at him in surprise. "Assistant Zhao, is this..."

"Dr. Shen, our CEO said he would send cakes every Friday from now on. He has something on tonight, so he arranged for me to deliver them," Zhao Ze said kindly and respectfully.

"Oh, thank you!" Shen Xi took them with a hint of confusion and politely extended her other hand. "Assistant Zhao, please come in and sit for a while."

Zhao Ze glanced towards the living room and met the smiling faces of Chenchen and Yanyan. He lowered his head and said, "No need, thank you, Dr. Shen. I have other matters to attend to and won't disturb you further. Goodbye!"

After sending Zhao Ze off, Shen Xi turned and placed the three cakes on the dining table. Just then, Shuoshuo emerged from the bathroom.

"There, now you all have cake every Friday. Are you satisfied?" Shen Xi swept her gaze over their innocent young faces.

The three children chuckled and each picked up their favorite cake.

"Uncle Qin really is telepathic with us. How did he know we wanted cake today?"

"Yes, Uncle Qin is awesome. It would be even better if he could have delivered it himself."

"We haven't seen him in days. I don't know why, but I kind of miss him."

Shen Xi turned to go upstairs. Hearing the children's conversation behind her, her heart skipped a beat. Could this be the unspoken connection between father and son?
