Chapter 182: Upgrade-2

Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Upgrade-2

"9,997"

"9,998"

"9,999"

"10,000," Ivy’s voice trembled with excitement. She had finally reached the upgrade criteria! Her Temporal Storage could be upgraded at last!

10,000 space and psychic crystals, 1,000 water crystals, and 100,000 KB!

"I want to upgrade," Ivy announced while staring at the air.

[The cost for upgrade...]

"Yes." Ivy interrupted; she was used to the questions of the Temporal Storage and agreed right away.

[Commencing Upgrade...]

[Teleporting the living beings out of the storage...]

The next second, Ivy found herself outside the storage. Though she was rudely kicked out, her eyes still sparkled with joy.

However, the next second, the few Ravencroft family members stored in the temporal storage were teleported out too. Staring at their unconscious body, Ivy calmly tightened the ropes binding them and stored them away.

In a good mood, Ivy waited for the few days to pass.

A week passed in a flash, and yet the temporal storage wasn’t upgraded; at least Ivy couldn’t enter the temporal storage.

In a week, the items she received varied from tomatoes, rice, and flour to garlic, salt packets, and so on. It was baffling how only these few items were repeated. However, it gave Ivy the chance to hoard and multiply.

Just as she was busy, someone knocked on the door.

"Come in," Ivy calmly stated.

A few heads popped up, and they called out in unison,

"Instructor Ivy~"

A helpless smile appeared on Ivy’s face as she ordered, "I am coming."

For the past week, Arthur, Maxwell, Franklin, and a few other soldiers followed her to the backyard of the base to clear up zombies, calling it practical training.

Ivy just took them as an extra helping hand, and to her delight, the efficiency had shot up a lot. Now, another 10,000 square meters of land were cleared, and she felt that her decision to take them with her was a correct one.

After dealing with the documents, Ivy massaged her eyes. Suddenly, a glass of water was offered to her, and Ivy took it. She was used to the kids trying to butter her up.

Maybe they wanted her to be more lenient on them, or maybe they were expressing their admiration. Ivy didn’t take them seriously.

If the soldiers knew Ivy’s inner thoughts, they would have coughed up blood.

Each of them had their own ulterior motives, yet the motives were somewhat similar.

2 hours later, Ivy finished her practical training and was returning with her team when she suddenly spotted a familiar tall figure.

Annie Bell.

Ivy paused before smiling and walking up to her. "Hello."

Since the military god had arrived at her doorstep, how could she not lure her (Annie) into her base?

With that thought, a sincere smile bloomed on her face. Annie stared at the beautiful figure she had been thinking about for the past few weeks and was stunned.

Ivy?

In the past few weeks, when Annie didn’t see Ivy in the military, she was worried and asked around, only to find that Ivy had left the military base.

Her family had taken Ivy away, and she feared she might never see her again. But now... seeing Ivy again, joy surged in her heart, and she said with a stiff smile,

"Hello."

"Are you here to become a citizen?" Ivy asked with a friendly smile. If it wasn’t for her self-control, she would have dragged Annie inside and transferred her directly to a military base.

’Be patient, Ivy! Be patient! You can’t scare her off! Take one step at a time.’ She encouraged herself in her heart.

"No, I saw a recruitment notice... can you lead me to the interviewer?" Annie asked with an embarrassed face. Because of personal issues, she barely had time to pay attention to her surroundings.

By the time Annie learned about the recruitment notice and attractive pay, two weeks had already passed.

At first she was hesitant and wondered if any positions would still be vacant. After all, with such excellent pay, only a fool wouldn’t rush here.

But two weeks had already passed. Yet Annie decided to gather her courage and arrive at the location. She even considered negotiating with the interviewer to lower her salary in exchange for a position in the military.

"Oh? What a coincidence! I am the interviewer. You are..." hired. Ivy stopped at the critical junction when she realized that some of the soldiers were standing behind her.

If she hired Annie on the spot, without any interview, it would seem that she was playing favorites.

She coughed and continued, "You should follow me."

Annie was pleasantly surprised and nodded. Following behind Ivy, she couldn’t help but stare at her back with admiration.

The few soldiers saw how Ivy was treating Annie with enthusiasm and wondered if they were friends.

Once inside the office, Ivy motioned Annie to sit down and gave her a glass of water.

"Here, you must have come from a long way."

’Please drink the water and enroll in the military.’ Ivy thought.

Touched by Ivy’s thoughtfulness, Annie took the glass of water. After drinking it, she started to introduce herself.

"Hello, I am Annie Bell. I have a super strength superpower."

Ivy nodded and asked casually while scribbling on the notepad,

"How many zombies can you kill in an hour?"

"50," Annie said conservatively. In fact, she could kill up to 70.

Ivy was surprised. No wonder Annie had become a powerhouse in the apocalypse later. While others were still struggling to kill 30 zombies in an hour, Annie could already kill 50 zombies in an hour.

"Have you committed any crime?"

Annie fell silent before forcing herself to tell the truth: "I have stolen food during my teenage years."

Ivy raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why?"

There was no scorn or disdain in her eyes, just curiosity, which resolved the unease in Annie’s heart.

"My brother... needed food after his surgery, and I had no money..."
