Chapter 349 - 342: Offending He Shishi

Chapter 349: Chapter 342: Offending He Shishi

Sisi, having greatly enjoyed her conversation with Mr. Mo Tang and amplified by her beautiful appearance, had become the center of attention tonight, overshadowing another girl which left her feeling sour and uncomfortable towards Sisi!

This girl was none other than Miss He Shishi from the He Family, with He Shishi and He Sisi having curiously similar names! However, it seemed that it might not be a favorable connection now!

He Shishi, due to her prominent family background and beauty, was always treated like a Princess and the focus wherever she went, never once dimming. But this time, at the Mo Family’s banquet, she felt the taste of losing her luster.

Initially, she enjoyed the envy and praises for her massive diamond necklace, but this inexplicably appearing He Sisi suddenly stole her limelight, with all the praises for her beauty and diamond now directed towards that Mainland Girl. How could this be?

This she could endure, that she could endure, but Miss He could not endure!

He Shishi silently swallowed this frustration and planned to find an opportunity later to give Sisi a lesson and show her who the real Princess in Hong Kong was.

Brother Chunfeng naturally attended as well, being a neighbor to the Mo Family and recently the most prominent director in the Hong Kong film circle, he certainly had the credentials to attend the Mo Family’s private gathering.

"Spring Breeze, congratulations on yet another blockbuster hit!"

After finishing her talk with Mr. Mo Tang, Sisi went to find Shangguan and others, and immediately saw He Chunfeng energetically conversing in front of Shangguan and Mo Liu.

"Sisi, you finished talking with Mr. Mo? How come you didn’t come to find me when you arrived in Hong Kong?" He Chunfeng asked with a smile.

"Brother Spring Breeze, didn’t you go to Tai Country for location shooting? Are you saying I should have gone to Tai Country to find you?" Sisi gave him a glare, then picked up a glass of soda from the nearby table to quench her throat, as her conversation with Mr. Mo Tang had left her voice dry.

He Chunfeng chuckled, handing over some food for Sisi to eat, and she didn’t hesitate, spearing a sushi and biting into it.

"Sisi, do you know this person?" Zhang Jie asked.

"Yes, let me introduce you all. This is my good friend in Hong Kong, He Chunfeng, a very talented film director. These are my friends, Shangguan Feifei, Zhang Jie, Mo Liu, and as for my second brother and Sixth Young Master Li, I guess no introduction is needed." Sisi smiled.

"So he really is a director, I thought he was a scammer!"

Zhang Jie pouted as just before, this guy came up to them, speaking incessantly, persuading Feifei and Ah Liu to act in a movie, they were so annoyed, had Sisi not arrived, she and Feifei might have lost their temper.

Sisi couldn’t help but laugh. Perhaps He Chunfeng saw the cold beauty of Shangguan and the lovely Mo Liu and couldn’t resist his old habit? But it’s not surprising that He Chunfeng later became such a successful cinematographer, his vision was truly first-rate, and both Shangguan and Mo Liu indeed had the looks perfect for movies.

"Sisi, they’re your friends? That’s wonderful, I’m planning to start a new film soon, your friends fit perfectly for the lead roles in my film, absolutely perfectly. Can you help me persuade them?"

He Chunfeng’s eyes sparkled as he shifted to persuading Sisi, truly convinced of their potential: one a queen full of imposing aura, the other a little handsome man who invoked sympathy, oh oh oh, such an intriguing and perfect combination, definitely will set a trend like a hurricane!

He was certain, these two would become big stars!

"Brother Spring Breeze, I’m sorry, I can’t help with this, you have to ask my friends themselves. If they don’t want to act in films, there’s nothing I can do." Sisi took a sip of soda, shaking her head in refusal.

Even if Shangguan and Mo Liu agreed to film, she wouldn’t agree. Mo Liu might be fine, but not Shangguan. Her family background did not allow her to become famous in Hong Kong, at least not in these next few years.

He Chunfeng’s persistence isn’t bad at all; since Sisi wasn’t finding a breakthrough, he turned to persuade Shangguan and Mo Liu instead. He smartly started with Mo Liu, who was easier to talk to, and the little boy blushed as soon as he spoke—how endearing!

Shangguan didn’t bother paying attention to him, busily stabbing her food with a fork on her own, but soon a remark from He Chunfeng caught her interest.

"Ah Liu, let me tell you, acting in movies is so much fun. You can be a sword-carrying hero wandering through Jianghu, or a poetic scholar dueling in verses. In movies, you can do all that: feel like killing someone? Just do it. Feel like setting a fire? Go ahead. Cool, isn’t it?"

"Feel like killing someone? Just do it. Feel like setting a fire? Go ahead?" Shangguan’s ears twitched; life seemed thrilling! She decisively dropped her plate and turned around to charge at He Chunfeng, asking, "Are you saying you really kill people if you feel like it, and set fires if you want to?"

He Chunfeng jumped at Shangguan’s sudden movement, then his face split into a broad smile, nodding vigorously: "Of course, of course. We’ll even shoot battle scenes where with just a gun each person can eliminate over a hundred enemies!"

Shangguan’s eyes sparkled brighter, just about to nod in agreement, when Sisi suddenly interrupted, "Those are all fake; you can’t really kill people or set fires, and there are no real knives and guns!"

Not real? Shangguan instantly lost interest and continued eating her food, paying no heed to He Chunfeng.

He Chunfeng looked at Sisi with a bitter face; he almost had someone convinced to join his company, only for this young lady to spoil it all.

Sisi whispered a few words in He Chunfeng’s ear, and then he stopped trying to persuade Shangguan, sighed and thought it seemed that his movie would have to wait a few more years. Besides Shangguan and Mo Liu, he couldn’t pick other more suitable actors.

"Sisi, I really see potential in these two. Once the policies over at your side loosen up in a few years, could you help persuade your friend for me, pretty please?"

The last ’please’ was drawn out very long, the final tone even slightly raised in pitch, resonating beautifully, causing Sisi to rub the goosebumps on her arms and cast a glare at him: "Speak properly!"

"Let’s see when the time comes, I can’t guarantee!"

Seeing the disappointed look on He Chunfeng’s face, she couldn’t bear it after all and added another line; He Chunfeng instantly perked up, sending a flirty wink to Sisi.

Sisi shuddered again, couldn’t bother with this clown any longer, and was about to fork some more food, when she heard a crisp female voice from above: "Today is Mr. Mo’s big birthday celebration, and I would like to wish Mr. Mo longevity that rivals the Southern Mountains and fortune as vast as the Eastern Sea!"

A deafening round of applause erupted below, punctuated by the whistles of many youth. Proudly smiling on stage, He Shishi continued, "Now, I’d like to recite the poem ’Youth’ as a tribute to Mr. Mo, wishing him everlasting youth."

"Great!"

Another round of cheers.

"To achieve a flawless performance, I would like to invite a friend to accompany me on the piano. What do you think?"

He Shishi smiled charmingly, stirring up the atmosphere to its peak, as many volunteered to accompany Miss He. However, He Shishi wouldn’t just settle for anyone.

"I’ll invite the most beautiful girl here to accompany me, yes, you guessed right, the girl in the red dress standing next to my Seventh Brother."

He Shishi’s Seventh Brother is He Chunfeng, the seventh in the He Family.

Sisi looked down at her water-red dress and glanced around He Chunfeng; it seemed that He Shishi was indeed talking about her.
