Chapter 43: Pitiful Ke'er

"Okay."

Wan Yunting nodded and got up. He said goodbye to He Chunmei, then went out with Jiang Tongxin and headed downstairs. Since he couldn't drive after drinking, he gave the car keys to Jiang Tongxin, and they drove back to the hospital together.

The atmosphere in the car was awkward. Jiang Tongxin drove, not saying a word. Wan Yunting, sitting in the passenger seat, felt too embarrassed to speak after realizing the significance of the dinner that night.

Finally, upon arriving at the hospital, Jiang Tongxin turned to him and said, "Don't listen to my grandfather's nonsense. And, treat Ke'er well. She's a good girl."

"Ke'er?"

Wan Yunting was stunned.

Jiang Tongxin said no more and got out of the car, returning to the emergency department.

Wan Yunting, seeming to understand finally, shook his head and smiled before getting out and heading back to the accommodation area behind the hospital.

"Look, he's back..."

Several passing nurses pointed and whispered when they saw Wan Yunting return, "I really don't know what Ke'er is thinking, how she could like him."

"Exactly. They slept together last night. It's outrageous..."

Seeing people pointing at him and giving him strange looks, Wan Yunting raised an eyebrow, unsure of what was happening.

"Hey."

Just as Wan Yunting was about to open his door, a male doctor suddenly called out, "Stay away from Ke'er!"

Wan Yunting turned to look at him. It was Dr. Tong from the emergency department. He didn't understand what he meant.

"I'm asking you, what did you do to Ke'er last night? Why did she come out of your room this morning?" Dr. Tong asked angrily, pointing at Wan Yunting and questioning him sternly.

This made him raise an eyebrow, seeming to grasp the situation.

"The whole hospital now knows Ke'er spent the night in your room. This has greatly impacted her reputation, do you know that?"

Dr. Tong, having had a bit to drink, said angrily to Wan Yunting, "She's due for regularization in a month. If this affects her regularization, can you take responsibility?"

Wan Yunting remained silent. He hadn't expected last night's events to have such a significant impact.

Indeed, Su Ke'er's internship regularization was a major event. If this truly affected her, he couldn't bear the responsibility.

"You move out. Move out now!" Dr. Tong shouted.

"Hurry up and move. Someone like him, a perverted rapist, who knows when he'll go wild and sneak into our female dorms. How dangerous is that?"

"Exactly. As long as he lives here, we'll be on edge..."

The surrounding nurses also chimed in. Apart from Su Ke'er, everyone else probably didn't want Wan Yunting to continue staying in the hospital dormitory.

"Alright, I'll move."

Wan Yunting nodded expressionlessly. He chose to move to avoid affecting Su Ke'er's regularization.

He went into his room, packed his belongings, and soon came out with his luggage.

Amidst everyone's cold remarks, Wan Yunting strode out of the hospital, preparing to stay with Jin Xiuwen for the night and look for a nearby apartment when he had time tomorrow.

"Phew, finally off work."

Su Ke'er, from the emergency department, took off her white coat and smiled playfully at Jiang Tongxin, who was on duty, "Sister Jiang, what should we have for supper? I'll go get it for you."

Jiang Tongxin glanced at her and smiled, "You're thinking of getting it for your Brother Yunting, aren't you?"

"Hehe."

Su Ke'er was happy. She ran over and leaned on Jiang Tongxin's desk, "What do you think of Brother Yunting?"

"Hmm, not bad."

Jiang Tongxin recalled the dinner at her home that evening and her interaction with Wan Yunting. She found that he wasn't like what others said.

"It's rare for someone to get your approval, Sister Jiang."

Su Ke'er stood up, hands behind her back, and paced happily, "So I've decided, I'm going to make Brother Yunting my boyfriend!"

Jiang Tongxin rolled her eyes at her and smiled, "Go buy your supper."

"Hehe, I'm going..."

Watching the girl dash off, Jiang Tongxin shook her head with a smile and continued busy with the patient's records...

"Boss, two bowls of noodle soup, one dry-fried beef noodles, and I want extra egg and meat."

Su Ke'er ran to a late-night snack shop outside the hospital and shouted at the owner.

"Adding extra egg and meat for your boyfriend again?" the owner smiled.

"Yes, I want to fatten him up," Su Ke'er said happily, making the owner and others laugh.

Soon, she delivered a bowl of noodle soup to Jiang Tongxin, then carried the other bowl of noodle soup and the dry-fried beef noodles back to the accommodation building behind, arriving at Wan Yunting's room door and knocking.

"Ke'er, stop knocking. He moved out just now," a nurse from the second floor called out.

"Moved out?"

Su Ke'er was surprised. She looked up at her colleague on the second floor, "What do you mean?"

"Dr. Tong lectured him just now, and he moved out."

"What."

Now understanding, Su Ke'er's large eyes widened, and she angrily said to her colleague on the second floor, "How could you do this? It's infuriating..."

Watching Su Ke'er storm out of the hospital with the noodle soup and beef noodles in her hands, seemingly to chase after Wan Yunting...

Meanwhile, Wan Yunting was already driving towards Jin Xiuwen's place.

At Fortune Mansion, on the seventeenth floor of Building A, Wan Yunting rang the doorbell with his luggage. Jin Xiuwen opened the door and gave him a look, "What's going on with you?"

"Stop the nonsense. I'm staying here tonight. Tomorrow, you help me find a decent apartment for rent near the hospital."

Wan Yunting walked in with his bag. Jin Xiuwen closed the door and asked doubtfully, "Weren't you living comfortably at the hospital? Why were you kicked out?"

Wan Yunting, too lazy to explain, asked, "How's the information about Feng Le'an coming along?"

"I was just about to tell you."

Jin Xiuwen brought out two bottles of beer. "I got news about him from a classmate. That kid is now running a small supermarket in his hometown."

"Do you have his exact address?" Wan Yunting continued to ask.

"Yes, I've found out."

Jin Xiuwen took a sip of beer and asked, "When should we go find him and ask?"

"No time like the present. We'll go tomorrow."

Wan Yunting narrowed his eyes, wondering if he could get anything out of Feng Le'an.

At this time, on the street opposite the hospital.

"Why is his phone turned off?"

Su Ke'er held a bowl of noodle soup and dry-fried beef noodles in one hand and her phone in the other, repeatedly calling Wan Yunting. However, his phone was disconnected, and he didn't reply to her messages, making her cry: "Brother Yunting, where are you..."

Wan Yunting was drinking with Jin Xiuwen and had no idea that his phone had been disconnected due to unpaid bills.

"Wuwu..."

Su Ke'er squatted by the roadside. The noodle soup and dry-fried beef noodles in her hands had gone cold. She cried sadly.

She believed her colleagues must have said something unpleasant to Wan Yunting, which was why he was angry and not answering her calls.

Su Ke'er had planned to confess her feelings to Wan Yunting that night, but now, it was all ruined...

Wan Yunting was currently drinking with Jin Xiuwen, completely unaware that Su Ke'er was frantically looking for him all over the streets.

The next morning, Wan Yunting and Jin Xiuwen drove to the hospital after waking up. They directly asked Jiang Yichun for leave and then drove towards Xiwenzhou County, five hundred kilometers away.

In the emergency department, Jiang Tongxin, who had come to work, found Su Ke'er absent.

"Director Jiang, Ke'er took leave," a nurse said.

"Took leave?" Jiang Tongxin was puzzled.

The nurse nodded and said, "Ke'er came back last night crying like a big bun and is still lying in the dormitory."

Jiang Tongxin frowned and asked, "What exactly happened?"

The nurse shrugged and said, "It's all because of that Wan Yunting."

Jiang Tongxin was taken aback. Could it be that Su Ke'er confessed last night and was rejected by Wan Yunting, leading to this?

So, Jiang Tongxin immediately went out directly to the dormitory building behind and arrived at Su Ke'er's room. After knocking for a full minute, it was finally opened.

Su Ke'er appeared utterly dejected, lacking her usual lively and cute demeanor. Frightened, Jiang Tongxin cupped her face and asked with concern, "Ke'er, are you alright?"

Seeing it was Jiang Tongxin, Su Ke'er wailed and hugged her, crying, "Sister Jiang, Brother Yunting isn't talking to me anymore, wuwu..."
